Crispy Brussels sprouts
Sally N.

Had a family night here and will definitely be bake when we are in town. The restaurant is a former library and has vedy cool books/library themed decor. We went for an early dinner and the place was already starting to fill up, but it was a well organized machine. Our server was very attentive in keeping our drinks full and frequently checking on us. For my drink, I got a Flowers in the Attic. This drink is dangerous. Very refreshing lemon taste to go with the rich meal. For a stater, we got the glazed pork belly and crispy Brussels sprouts. The pork belly was super tender and came apart with a fork. The crispy Brussels were cooked to perfection and nicely roasted. For my meal, I got the lamb shank with a loaded baked potato and the cucumber salad. The lamb shank was so juicy and tender, I would definitely get it again. The baked potato was a classic potato, nothing special. The cucumber salad was very tart/vinegary to me, which didn't go with the rest of the dish, but not a huge detractor from the meal. Overall though, great meals and drinks!

Ribeye with garlic mash, with onions and mushrooms. Cowboy steak.

Service was a 10/10, food came out quick. My steak had so much potential, but it was loaded with salt. Potato's were great.

Complementary ice cream scoop with b-day candle

The food was ok, service on Sunday did not seem busy but the staff was a bit slow, went with empty water glasses for a while before I could flag a server down for refills. The vibe was a new experience, I loved being surrounded by books and old phones. We started with appetizers, and I tasted a few reds I was curious about and their wine selection did not disappoint. On another note, perhaps they should cut their tomatoes thinner, they were a bit too thick for a normal bite‍. And while the colossal shrimp were colossal, yet the sauce was not it, although the steak teaser was a hit!!! The lobster Mac and cheese is something I will be coming back for next visit and I simply loved the special touch at the end with the complementary ice cream scoop for my B-day.

The library steakhouse is an old converted public library. Saw them online. Decided to come for a birthday dinner. Let me tell you. This place is incredible. The service was outstanding. Super friendly. They had our party of 8 table ready right on time. The atmosphere is great! Library books on the shelves. Huge bar section. Drinks naked after books. I had the Godfather old fashioned. It was the best old fashioned I've had in a while. For dinner , our waitress right away asked if anyone was having the prime rib because she wanted to make sure they still had some for us. They serve it until it's sold out fri-sat 5pm to close. I wanted the prime rib so this was much appreciated. One at our table ordered the crab dip. So tasty. Definitely get it if you go. Our table ordered the prime rib, NY strip, steak and fries. Every steak and prime rib was cooked to perfection. Make the trip here. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back. (Lunch for one of their huge burgers is next!)

Hubby had the lamb shank. This was super tender. Definitely getting this next time.

We had a lovely anniversary meal here. The atmosphere is warm and romantic. Love the decor and color palette. I recommend a reservation and coming earlier in the evening. They get very busy later in the evening. The food was amazing and the service was top notch.

I do love how calming this place feels. The green is so beautiful here! Our server felt like she was one of my girls when we all went. I loveee the food here. Unfortunately I went I guess when there was a different chef. I notice a few mention food issues & early on I never experienced that. I went a few times and enjoyed each meal.

Coming here the night before Thanksgiving has become our annual tradition. We are from out of town and our friends always make reservations to come here. This place is definitely up scale compared to majority of the restaurants in the area. Which makes this my favorite restaurant to eat at when visiting. So apparently this building used to be a library, which I couldn't even imagine what this building would share if you could speak. You won't be disappointed when coming in because you still have some sort of library design that fits the theme. So my go to meal is always the filet mignon, medium rare. I do like my side sauce but tonight I opted for the butter. This meal never disappoints and is always perfectly cooked and just melts in your mouth. The service has always been fantastic and of course the company we bring makes this place the idea restaurant to go to. You won't be disappointed.

Perfectly cooked New York Strip and baked potato

From the moment we walked into the Lobby and throughout our time at The Library we were met with friendly, courteous associates. The vibe inside is friendly and following the library motif. Our server, Brittany, is a rock star! She was knowledgeable and professional. Her attentiveness throughout our dining experience was perfection; present and checking in on our needs without being pesky. I consider that the hallmark of professional waitstaff. We ordered a flank steak, a filet mignon, and a New York Strip. Each steak was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Each steak was accompanied by an expertly baked potato. After dinner we decided to try a couple dessert selection ordering a chocolate lava cake and carrot cake, both with a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream. The lava cake was appropriately hot. The carrot cake had a spiced flavor and a crispy top edge; delicious! Everything about dining at The Library made it a memorable experience. I give The Library my highest remarks and it has been added to our regular rotation of the best place to dine in Fuquay!

I enjoyed the environment when I went. My steak was overcooked but they happily remade my meal and it was great.

My parents recently moved to the area, and one thing we all agree on is a love for a great steak…read more So when they heard about Harvey John's--and their $45 Tuesday prime rib special--they tried it and loved and brought me while I was visiting. We made a rookie mistake: no reservation. Day before Christmas Eve. The only table available was by the door, which, for us, is a hard no. It was already chilly outside, and sitting by the door means constant drafts, tense shoulders, and food cooling faster with every opening. Not ideal, especially when you're settling in for a proper steak dinner. To their credit, the hostess tried everything--even showing us the reservation layout for the evening. The owner came over personally, and in the end, our options were simple: take the door table or come back at 7:30 pm when more tables would open. We were hungry, but we chose comfort over impatience. My dad left his number just in case a table opened sooner. We went home, had light snacks, and--surprise--got a call at 6:55 pm. Not only was a table available, it was a booth. That alone told me everything I needed to know about how they run this place. Stellar Client Care. When we returned, the owner John Linderman, met us at the door--warm, apologetic, and genuinely appreciative that we came back. The entire staff operates like a well-oiled team, with hospitality that feels intentional rather than performative. It's been a good while since I experienced an owner manager stop by every table to check in. A gesture from better dining times. Now, the food. We ordered: * Stuffed Shrimp with crab meat * Sausage bombs * Prime rib * A tomahawk ribeye to split I don't know if Harvey John's is officially farm-to-table, but the steak tasted incredibly clean--like actual beef. As a native New Yorker living in Los Angeles, I've eaten at many top-tier steakhouses--BOA, Ruth's Chris, Musso & Frank, Nick & Stef's, Steak 48--and I can confidently say this tomahawk was more flavorful and tasted fresher than all of them. Who knew a small-town North Carolina steakhouse would deliver a truly high-end experience? I'm no chef, but I do have a refined palate, and this meal was memorable. Honestly? If Michelin ever looks this way, they should take note. It's comforting to know you can leave one of the biggest food cities in the world and still find a steakhouse worthy of becoming a new regular favorite. Pro tip: Make a reservation--just to be safe. Cheers to Harvey John's.

We celebrated a special occasion on a Friday evening and were pleased. The hostess started things out very positively by going above and beyond to seat us in a booth. She checked in a couple of times during our meal to insure that we were having a great experience. It was much appreciated. The salad bar doesn't have a huge selection of ingredients, but it is very fresh and kept well stocked. It was the quintessential steak house salad bar. Skip the dinner rolls; they tasted like something from the grocery store bakery and weren't very good. We both tried the Wagyu ribeye. It was very nice: cooked exactly as ordered with a nice sear on the outside. The steak was very flavorful and tender as Wagyu should be. It was excellent and a very reasonable value for $69. The accompanying salt-rubbed baked potato was excellent as well. The restaurant offered two dessert choices: a flight of cheese cake samples or a chocolate cake. We chose the chocolate cake and received a mammoth slab of cake covered in white icing. It was good but nothing exceptional. I wish there had been at least one additional dessert choice to choose from. Service for the rest of our meal was fine. Our drinks ran dry but were eventually refilled. The kitchen did a good job serving our meals at just the right time. The restaurant is attractively decorated inside, but it can't hide its heritage as a prefab metal building. There's a thrift store next door which creates a dichotomy for a restaurant serving $69 steaks. We will return to Harvey Johns Steakhouse the next time we're in the mood for a steak.

So good we ate there two nights in a row! Great location…read moredowntown; plenty of free street parking and a public lot across the street. Super friendly staff. Dog friendly with approx 8 tables outside. Inside is large & airy with a large Party room for events. Large bar & they make great drinks besides their huge selection of On Tap beers; Many are their house brand styles. Reasonably priced and the food is very good! Apps You can't go wrong with their Corn Fritters in a smokey, honey sauce or their Fried Green Tomatoes served with house made chow chow and goat cheese. Both large enough cooked perfectly, decent sized, and plenty of meat; Entrees The grilled Flank Steak Salad with with blue cheese crumbles ( I substituted feta) , sliced apples, walnuts, and red onions served with honey balsamic dressing was the perfect size and flavors. But the HR king here is the Pork Tenderloin topped with blackstrap molasses, garlic mashed potatoes and bacon Brussels sprouts. everything about this dish was perfect. The best of these commonly seen items. The second night we had different types of burgers which were good but not life changing. However their fries are crispy perfect. Mexican street corn was good but at $7 for one ear....not worth it. desserts ( and a lot of the drinks) come in little mason jars and are pretty good too. Great place and I highly recommend it. Crazy as it sounds the whole place (including the bar) is closed by 9 or 10pm daily. We'll be back

I got fish and chips and he got buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries. He ate all his fries and sandwich and said it was good. Sandwich came out hot but not fries. Mine was a big disappointment. The fish was burned and the batter had no flavor at all. Even doused with lots of malt vinegar, salt and pepper, it was still barely edible ( I ate the inside). If I hadn't been so hungry I would have sent it back, but I had not eaten all day and was hangry. In the picture you can see one showing the burnt side and I turned the other one over to check the other side. There was a kale slaw type salad that was just ok. Had lots of onion in it which I don't prefer. The fries were not good at all. Limp, no flavor. I only ate two and gave up. We went to Publix and got a frozen pizza and went home and cooked it. The place is nice, clean from what I saw and our waitress was wonderful. This would be a 3.5 only because of the great service.

You walk in and you have tables and look on your right and there's plenty of pool tables to pick from. There is a pretty large bar that during the time we were there had three bartenders. I used the restroom while my husband and his friend went up to the bar and apparently there was a bit of an issue with the snarky bartender. I'm not sure why there would be an issue with ordering the drinks. Two vodka lemonades is pretty basic. They both found those drinks disgusting. Ordering drinks the rest of the time we were there was like pulling teeth. if you can't pull one out you try to go to another one and then another one and yet you still can't get anywhere. That was our experience with these bartenders. I went up there and asked the female bartender for two Bacardi Cokes. She disappeared to the other side of the bar and started serving other people. She never made our drinks. Then the snarky bartender came up to me and I asked him for the same two drinks. He said OK give me a minute..... I'm standing up there for 10 minutes and he's literally just serving everybody else. He never served me the two drinks. The guys at the bar next to me, started making comments about how horrible the bartenders are, and they started to yell at the bartender to get their attention. Very nice gentleman. Another bartender took my exact same order and he made me two Bacardi Cokes served in beer glasses. One shot of Bacardi and way too much coke served in a beer glass. From a previous bartender this is extremely incorrect. The correct way to handle it is, asking if you wanted one shot or two shots And would you like it in a tall or short glass? If you don't ask automatically, you should have it in a short glass with one shot of Bacardi and a couple of shots of Coke from your spray gun. I'm also going to take a wild guess that they have not cleaned the spraygun in a very long time because the quality of sodas that were coming out of it were pretty bad. Clean your bar correctly. I'm guessing nobody really gives a shit. We came here to play pool, order quite a few drinks because these two men can handle a there liquor and just hang out on this Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't even busy. The lack of quality gives you my three star review because of how horrible all three of your bartenders were. I should've minus a star per bartender. I have never seen multiple bartenders just completely spaced out and forget that you even placed an order with them... at the same bar. Whatever you're on dude you need to layoff on the stuff.
