Yes! Yes! 5 stars on repairs. I love this place. Finally a person who truly understands how sewing machines and vacuums actually work. The owner knows when a minor adjustment is all that is needed. He will never do another repair or charge you for an unnecessary part. This guy is very honest and reliable. I am very hard on my sewing machine and need to bring it in to Monument Sew and Vac about every 6 to 9 months. Sometimes he finds an "Operator Error". Other times he needs to make a repair. SCAMMERS. AWFUL SERVICE. REALLY RUDE FAMILY RUN BUSINESS. DO NOT GO HERE. My Dyson vaccuam cleaner was stopping to work sporadically and the blue light kept blinking. Me not knowing anything about any vaccuam cleaner, suspected that it was battery issue. I took it to this place and they kept the cleaner and called me back after a week saying it was fixed. When I picked it up, he said it was the pipe needed cleaning and he charged me $79.95. Which I thought was outragious. But I paid. Brought the vaccuam home and it stopped working again after 5 minutes. When I took it back, this time he said, it was the battrey which needed replacement and will take another week. When I went back to pick it up after a week again he wanted to charge again $50. I asked him, since the pipe didn't need to be cleaned and he charged me already $79.95, I wasn't going to pay for it again. At this point his wife became really aggressive and started shouting at me. She came so close to my face and almost hit me. I was really afraid and finally he agreed to not charge me the additional $50 and I came back home. After I brought the vacuum back home, I realized he locked the trash compartment so it could not be opened for trash disposal. For the 3rd time I had to take the Dyson back to their store and this time I brought a friend which her service dog so that the wife could not shout at me. It is definitely a scam business. I believe they are a family. The place smells really bad. They try to ripoff their customers and definitely not a honest business. Very aggressive people. I reported them to BBB. Absolute gem! So thankful my husband found this wonderful establishment! Super helpful in repairing our vacuum, the only one that can get my Moana hair off the carpet and floors. They not only do repairs but my husband bought himself a brand new hand held vacuum. extremely content and thankful. Took our vacuum to fix and we went to get out vacuum to see if it was ready but he tried giving us one that wasn't ours and said he lost it or didn't know where he placed it and give us a different vacuum I don't recommend this place they will steal your stuff . Old school mom n pop vacuums and sewing repair place. Very reasonably priced. We had a 7 year old very pricey Dyson Animal + Allergy upright vacuum that was simply TOO good at sucking sh*t up...so it had microscopic dust particles deeply embedded into the cyclones (older model, before they constructed them to be easily taken apart for manual cleaning.). Before we resigned to tossing it, we had them give it a whirl and it's like a brand new vacuum again! FYI: They're a bit tech challenged, so best to have a cash backup to pay in case their phone lines are down and can't take your CC, lol read more

LOOK AT MY DYSON! Believe it or not, it's NOT new! It's about 7? years old, in a house with two dogs - and me (my dog, Rocket, and I both shed like beasts). I wish I had taken a before photo. Not only was it not working properly (working at about 10% suction, at best) but it looked absolutely disgusting. I took it to the sweetest gentleman, Salem Ibrahim, at Broadway Sew & Vac Center in Walnut Creek. When I went to pick it up, I gave him my claim ticket. I saw him reach for this vaccuum and he start walking towards me. I thought, "Oh geez, he has the wrong one." The vaccuum was gleamimg and I had completely forgotten what it was supposed to actually look like. It SUCKS now. Big time. Literally. read more

Hope to be removing this in the near future. Couple is so nice. BUT, our Dyson's floor function was not pulling things in at all and after doing everything I could to clean any clogged areas in our Dyson 40, I noticed an interior hose, the 'COV HOSE ASSY' was totally destroyed. Seeing all the good reviews, I took the vacuum here. I told the gentleman that there was a bad hose and left it for repair. I was called to pick it up and was told it was working fine and that he had 'totally unplugged and cleaned it', nothing about hose repair. When I tried it at home, there was no floor vacuum function. I opened the area where I had seen the broken hose, and nothing had been done with it. I have researched and ordered the part, received it, and am hoping it will be installed correctly. read more

I had my Singer sewing machine repaired here and it was worth every penny! The price was much less than another place that gave me a quote in the area and it was the same turn around (less than 10 days). The sewing machine now has a warranty of 90 days which I appreciate. The person who works here does get busy, but does his best to get your item back in a timely manner. If I ever need another tune up or have any issues with my vacuum, I will definitely be back. read more

My Dyson vacuum has seen better days and was not working as good as it had in the past. When the hose that connects to the various attachments broke, and duct tape couldn't fix it, I was ready to buy a new vacuum. But before I did, I decided to see if it could be repaired. I saw the previous Yelp reviews for Monument Sew and Vac and decided to give them a try. I had already decided if it was going to cost more than $100 that I would say forget it, and go ahead and buy a new vacuum. The owner quoted a price of $95 and I gave him the go ahead. It took about three days in the shop before I went back to pick up my vacuum. I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked it up - it looked brand new! He not only repaired the hose, but also a cracked carpet roller. He also cleaned the entire vacuum inside and out. Took in a 25-year old vacuum that still ran like a champ and for a very reasonable $64 the motor and fan were replaced within 4 days! In the past, they fixed the sewing machine for a reasonable price. The also have vacuum cleaner bags. The folks who own the place are so nice, and helpful. I really wanted to give this shop a great review after reading all of the other ones, but.... I took my Dyson in and they kept it for over a month without even looking at it. I called and waited, called and waited. It was one story after another. Once I finally said are you ever going to look at my machine I was told that to figure out what was wrong it would take a long time. They would have to take it apart. Highly recommend Monument Sew & Vacuum! I have a husky, three cats and long thick hair so our vacuum was looking pretty rough, and suction was not great. I had tried taking it apart but wasn't able to really clean it out. It looks great now, and works like it used to! The owner of the shop fixed our vacuum quickly and was professional and polite. I would give it a zero if I could. my mom took her machine In because it was making a grinding noise in the lower left quadrant when embroidering. they said they fixed it and that it had needed cleaning. we took it home and later when she went to use it, it was making the same noise. we took it back. this time they did not charge as much and said there was threads under the bobbin case and that's what caused it. it was supposedly cleaned the first time. we took it home and tried it. same noise same place. took it back. a week later we received a call saying it was ready. we went and picked it up and the lady running the store said she tried embroidering and it was fine. I told her she sewed in the middle of the hoop and we told you it was in the lower left quadrant. she then said it was the hoop and I said no. she then said it was the card reader and I said no. i talked my mom into taking it some place else and found out that the embroidery belt had come off a gear. Will not use this place again. read more

I recently took my vacuum to another vacuum store where I was told my vacuum would cost me $45 to have fixed when all it was was a broken belt then I took my vacuum to monument sewing and vacuum in concord where I was greeted very politely the people right in front they imediately took full attention to my vacuum told me what the exact problem was which was a broken belt opened vacuum in front of me and also did the repair right in front of my eyes which showed me how to actually maintain my vacuum all for 10 bucks a outstanding deal very honest people and wonderful service thank you monument sew and vacuum read more

After being assured that they worked on my make and model machine and that they had the part required for the fix, I brought my machine in. It turns out they did not have the part and had no plan to remedy the problem they had created. I had no choice to retrieve my machine after the inconvenience of uninstalling it and transporting it to them. read more

I suspect he gave my machine to someone else too. I'm going to give the owner one final chance to make things right, then straight off to BBB and Consumer Affairs if he tries to stall again. Dropped off my Miele SEB 236 power head for our vacuum here. The handle release wasn't working apparently due to a small broken plastic part that locks and releases the upright handle from the power head. A quick google check revealed it's a very common failure and they often have to be replaced. I previously checked with Walnut Creek Vacuum where I purchased this $1,500 machine, and was told they wouldn't give me an estimate to repair it until they opened it up to inspect the power head to determine the problem. Decided to take it to Monument due to all the great reviews. The very pleasant couple that owns it knew immediately what the issue was and he said he replaces that part frequently due to a poor design by Meile. Told me he would have it done in a few days and the total cost would be $78. When I returned to pick it up, not only did he replace the handle release, he thoroughly serviced the power head, cleaning out the motor and greasing the bearings, cleaned the housing and re-built the brush bar! It looks and operates like brand new. The charge...$78. Super nice people and very knowledgeable re the Miele. Will most definitely return as needed. read more

I hate the new bagless vacuums. My very old Eureka upright went on the fritz . And my older Dirt Devil stick vacuum had no suction. Monument Vacuum was able to repair and service both of them and now they are both working great. Store is easy to find and there is lots of parking. I took my sewing machine in for repairs. They gave me a free estimate. It's an old Elna machine and I thought they were going to say I needed a new machine. They said that my machine was so well made that they don't make machines like that anymore. I inherited the machine from my aunt. They said that If I needed any help leaning more about my machine I could go in and they would help me free of charge since I had it serviced there. They are so friendly and helpful. They even took the machine to the car for me. My machine works better than a new machine! I would highly recommend Monument Sew & Vacuum Center! read more
