Yesterday found me driving up Clayton Road to Suttons with an inoperable Kirby in the trunk in need of repair. Thirty five minutes later, after delivering the machine to Mr. Sutton, I was back on Clayton Road, heading home, the Kirby back in the trunk with a new belt. The repair plus purchase of an additional belt and a supply of vacuum bags was less than $30. Hope the Kirby never needs another service, but if it does, I know where on Clayton Road I will take it. read more

I should have known what I was getting myself into when I walked in and saw the artwork on the walls - at least two looked like Nazi propaganda but I wasn't 100% sure. I don't want to go into the details of my conversation with the man who I believe must be the owner but during our conversation he did say "some people say I'm racist" to which I responded, "Well, you are" and gave him examples of why based on what he had said. I was very close to picking up my part that needed to be repaired and walking out the door and told him this, he said "it wouldn't be the first time". When I left, I called my husband and told him about my experience he said that we're not going back to retrieve our item, we're not giving him one cent. It's been over 5 years since i've returned to Sutton's, and i commented that while visiting, that the side effect of great service and products, means that if you bring your business to Sutton's, you will be friends/customers for life, but visits don't come often. I shopped around at the big box stores, and online, and looked at all the sizes/makes and promises that are cleverly advertised. I tried a few local family owned Vacuum shops, then i remember this shop, that's near by me i pass by a lot... Couple of things about why i choose Sutton's.... I'm a technician by trade, and when i make purchases/ investments in tools, i want reliability, Longevity, and serviceability, and I want part availability, as well as advice, and repair options. Sutton's sold me a sanitaire Commercial grade lightweight all metal parts quick change bags with HEPA filter and belts you change nascar fast, and simply with zero tools required. I keep spare belts located in the bag compartment in case one breaks, i can remove the brush and clean it swap the belt, and never have a single issue. this vacuum is built like a streamline camper and looks like it to.. the on off button is mechanical and metal, and looks like it would be impossible to fail, and the cord on this thing is long enough that i can start out vacuuming down stairs, and work my way upstairs and never unplug it. The cord it self has strain reliefs and is soft and easy to deal with.. there's to much yes about my vacuum... Im a customer for life at sutton's the only down fall is it's cash or check, and nobody really uses checks anymore but that should be a clue that they are trusting and good people. customer service here is excellent!!! thanks again!! read more

Owner is not willing to let you look through available vacuum cleaner bags he has in stock to verify it is a possible fit! Unless you have the make and model number of your vacuum he is unwilling to help or even allow you to help yourself! Told me I should "order online myself or try another vacuum shop; there were others in town but he didn't want me touching his merchandise, unless I could provide him with the appropriate make and model numbers he would not help me or even allow me to try and visually read more

Todd Sutton fixed my vacuum within a couple of days and it works great. He was flexible and asked when I needed it back. I like the fact that he closes at 7:00 or after so you have time to pick your vacuum up after work. He was kind enough to put my vacuum in my trunk. Only negative is you do have to pay with cash or a check. read more

I've been going to his store for over 10 yrs., since he carries the Kirby bags that I need. Every visit he has started to talk about Jewish people, but I have cut him off. But recently(jan.2021) he started talking about black people being inferior and showed "scientific proof" with a lot of nonsense reading material. He said that Jewish people are descendants of the devil. He tried to show me pictures of the holocaust that he said are propaganda by the Jews and the liberals to blame the Nazis. We talked for a while and told him that he needed medical help because he seems obsessed with racist subjects. He even stood up in a rage and raised his arm because I would not agree with him. I never would have noticed this place if our relatively new vacuum hadn't started giving us problems. I drove by this place every day and never noticed it. Anyway, we brought our vacuum in because we were having a party the next day and had been trying to clean our house but the vacuum kept going out. The guy who worked here was great. He fixed it the same day and when I came in to pick it up he showed me exactly what he had fixed and what I needed to do to prevent the issue from happening again. And it was only $30. My Dyson vacuum attachment wasn't working. Sutton vacuum did a great job with the repair. The blockage was cleared, work completed under 24 hours. Charge was only $29 - Gave him $35 for doing a fantastic job. Highly recommend taking your vacuum to Sutton's vacuum repair for service. Nice, honest person who does quality work. I went to get my vacuum switch replaced and Mr. Sutton was able to do that. However it took him a week. He informed me when I dropped off my vacuum that he was a little backed up to call him by Last Friday (1/22/21). I dropped off the vacuum on Monday (1/18/21). I decided to give him a call on Monday (1/21/21) so that he could have the whole week plus the weekend since he was backed up. I called Monday he didn't return my call from a voicemail left in the morning. So I decided on the way from work to drop by the shop. When I arrived he informed me that he hadn't started on it yet but he was going to put it in line to be fixed. He calls me today to tell me that my vacuum was ready. I picked it up this evening around 5:30pm. Picked up my vacuum promptly brought it home to use it and the switches worked but the hoses were clogged with cat hair and I don't own a cat. If I could give this business more than 5 stars I would. On Monday I called regarding a problem I was having with my Dyson vacuum. Instead of telling me to bring it in, he said that it sounded like I had a bad filter. As soon as I got off the phone I opened up the vacuum and sure enough the rubber around the filter was completely out of place. I could not even get it back in. I ordered a genuine Dyson filter which arrived today. My vacuum now works like a charm. I will not be ordering off brand filters for my Dyson again. Thank you for your advice and not just trying to make money. I will definitely put this business at the top of my list. read more

This man is an anti-semite, and a NUT! I don't know how we got on the subject. One minute we were talking about fixing my Dyson, the next, he asked me about my ancestry! When he realized that I am not Jewish, he started going on and on about the "Jewish Mafia", etc., etc. I guess he thought I must have been agreeing with him because I said very little (too shocked). He finally told me to pick up my vacuum the next day and then handed me a 'free' CD of his "Christian" music recordings. When I got home I cracked it in half & threw it in the garbage, then told my boyfriend that he was going to pick up the vacuum because I wasn't going near that man again. What a creep. He repaired the Dyson just fine, I guess, & for a reasonable price. But it was not worth the other price I had to pay! I called about 5 different vacuum repair places before this one and everyone told me that I would have to leave my vacuum with them for several days, just to get an estimate, and that they don't have a tech in. I was starting to think one tech was working for all five places. I called Sutton's and he told me I could bring my vacuum in and he would take a look at it right away. He met me at the door of his business and helped me carry my vacuum inside. He even offered to let me play the beautiful piano that's inside while I was waiting for him to take a look. I was struck immediately by a sense of kindness and honesty in him. He let me know what he thought the problem was and explained why. The price of the repair was extremely reasonable and he had the replacement part in stock. I'm incredibly impressed and grateful. I hope I don't have a lot of issues with my vacuum in the future, but if I do, I will be coming here for sure. read more

I dropped off my Eureka upright for repair and had a very good experience. Very old-school type of place; no computer, doesn't take credit cards, and I'm pretty sure the guy who helped me was the owner/operator. When I came back to pick it up he explained what he had done and the charge was reasonable, $29 with no parts needed. I've done business with Mr. Sutton for twenty years, in fact I purchased my Sharp vacuum from him about 15 years ago. He replaced a belt in this upright vacuum after a number of years and provided additional hose length and various attachments which has made this vacuum extensively useful in many areas throughout my home.
