The last time I ended up buying a new cooktop instead of fixing the 35 year old unit. Glad I did as I found other problems with the old one as I removed it, fire hazard it was. Last year my heater stopped working and visited this store a few times trying to figure out what was wrong. The man who was there was very nice and kind. They lady was too but I could tell she just wanted me to give up and kept giving me a card for an hvac person. I was determined to figure it out because I saw a few YouTube videos and knew it was a matter of just replacing a part. I thought it was a compressor which I wasn't aware had a few off them and had to check them all. It turned out to be a different little part and ended up ordering from Amazon for $10 because I didn't want to go back to Leo's to be given yet another business card. I replaced the part and my heater still works perfectly even now! I saved a lot of money and gained a lot of knowledge. I tried ordering the part on Amazon but that online merchant kept sending me the product with the wrong specs so I needed something FAST and REASONABLY PRICED. This place is amazing! Their friendly staff was able to give me advice regarding my current part, if they had anything on hand, AND that they can test my current part to see if I did in fact need to replace it. They sent me the wrong part and on a wild goose chase through phone networks to try to find the correct part. Then I called Leo's, who texted me photos of the two parts and explained how kenmore is a sears brand manufactured by different vendors - since mine was by whirlpool they got me sorted out. This venerable Concord institution will very likely have that part you need, but beware, you'll pay almost 3x the going rate. Our motor for the swamp cooler went out during the labor day holiday, during a heat wave and the big box stores didn't have any in stock due to it being the end of the season. We found one at Leo's. He charged around $280, vs $125 at Amazon that I was able to get the following week. I keep spare parts on hand now to avoid this kind of highway robbery. Their customer service leaves much to be desired. And if for some reason the part doesn't work you can't even return it, even if it's something you can't test in the store, like a motor. Seems like there are only 2 employees and this is a literal mom and pop store, but not in a good way. So much for supporting small, local businesses if this is the way they treat customers. I had been working on this fridge ever since a technician said we needed to replace the evaporator assembly. $175 part and a week wait for shipping. That didn't fix it so I ordered another fan and temperature sensor. It was the wrong fan. Parts Select was priced well but the wait was excruciating! I called Leo's and talked to Maria. I told her I thought it was the fan assembly but she recommended that I probably didn't need all the extra parts except the fan. She was right! The fix finally worked and Thanksgiving is saved! Well it goes like this. I have a microwave oven that's not working, so I go on the web and find a video showing step by step of how to check this out, and I do so, and figure out that I need a fuse and a thermo switch. Then I go to Leo's. I bring in the thermo switch and Leo tests the switch for continuity and says "yep it's bad", then proceeds to tell me they will have to order a replacement. Verifies the placement from the schematics from the appliance parts website and proceeds with charging me $41. 38, and the part should be in by Friday. The following day I get a call that my part is in. I go down and pick the part up and leave. As I'm leaving, I have a feeling that I should check this part out to make sure that it works, because they have signs posted "Zero Refunds on Electronic Parts, No exceptions", Well, being the trusting fool that I am I ignored that voice in my head and went home with my new thermo switch. Yep, sure enough I opened the package and checked the thermo switch for continuity, and it showed to be bad. WoW, how can this be, so I check it along with the old switch and they both show the same result. Now, I'm curious and furious, thinking I just ate nearly $42. Then I decided to review all of my steps and actually researched this specific thermo switch, to finally discover that this thermo switch is Normally Open, which means it won't show any continuity thru it's posts. Well, having partially redeemed my deductive reasoning, I reassembled the microwave with the old thermo switch and a new 20amp fuse, and everything worked. Now for the task of acquiring a refund. I showed up here at Leo's and stated my case, and the older guy was feeling threatened that I may be accusing him of not doing his job, while falling back on the fact that he only ordered the part that I told him to order, and they have a "Zero Refund Policy on All Electronic Parts", and I'm attempting to explain that it is not either of our faults, but the lack of clarity on the part of the manufacturer of this particular part, for failing to identify this part as a Normally Open component, that they have most likely sold thousands of these deceptive devices to unsuspecting customers and technicians. Ching, CHING$$$. Well, now steps in logic and reasoning on the part of another employee who agrees to provide me a refund. I thank him profusely and decide to write this review. I purchased door gaskets from Leo's for my Kitchen-Aid fridge. They gave me two installers to call who they recommended to do the repair. Both installers said that there was a 50/50 chance of damaging the door due to the gasket being molded to the inside foam. I decided to return the new gaskets. I went to their shop on Saturday and was told they would call me Monday. I called them twice on Monday but no return calls. I then called on Tuesday and Leo was non-committal about taking the gaskets back and found another company to do the install. I took the gaskets back to his shop and told him what his installers had said and that I didn't want to take the chance of ruining the doors. Instead of believing me, he called one of the installers who confirmed what I said. He then tossed the installers card at me and reluctantly retuned my money with a 25% restock charge. The gaskets were in stock at the Sacramento wholesaler so it was not a special order. Finally got the 25% waived and paid $20 for restock. Terrible experience!! read more

Very fast to sell things very slow when comes to service...Just like used car dealers

Didn't have a basic part I needed in stock and had to order it. The employee that helped me was very slow and it was obvious he was making mistakes. I had to confirm many details with him repeatedly and point out to him that he was selecting the wrong part that I needed from his print out. Also, make sure to confirm everything before you leave the store. The employee, Leo, entered in the wrong address on my order. Good thing I insisted on checking with another employee before I left who confirmed Leo entered in a completely different street name than mine. Overall this store is below average, you're best off ordering parts online if you can. Check Sears Parts Direct and cut the middle man as that's where they order many of their parts from. read more
