Saturday late lunch time. No waiting and got a table immediately. Host walks us to the table and server comes to take order. I got Po Boy with fried shrimp. I think options were grilled, boiled and fried shrimp. Fried shrimp was really good! I just wished there were more fried shrimp. Complimentary self serve ice cream was really a nice treat. There were vanilla, mix and chocolate with toppings to add such as crushed peanuts, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup etc. For a tourist area, it was a good price with good portion restaurant. A yummy spot to grab some food while on the island! We shopped all morning and wanted a spot to sit inside to cool down. This is a large spot and would be great for crowds. One of the shop owners said this was voted one of the best places to eat on the island. Our server was super personable and helpful, and made some suggestions. I ended up getting a chicken sandwich which was tasty, but the real winner was the free soft serve ice cream at the end of the meal. Love that. Check it out! read more

A good tour spot right on the water. Also would be a good local place to hang out and watch games at the bar. Hailey was a very good server, checked on us quite often and accommodated one of the requests regarding oysters (steamed and raw mixed). We even met her mom, the manager... She was very friendly, had great conversation with her. A crabcake sandwich was bigger than I expected, and it was delicious. A little messy, the crabcake didn't stay together very well. A few items were a little pricey, but that's to be expected considering where you are. Great beer selection. Overall, I would go again when in town. Beautiful area!! read more

Had to stop by when it was recommended. Service was great. Loved their Bloody Marys. (The celery did taste like it could be washed better though.) The raw oysters were really good. Fried shrimp has good flavor. My kid loved that he could get free ice cream after dinner. read more

The service was the best part of the meal as our waitress was really friendly and apologetic about us not liking one item we ordered! First, Georgia Shrimp is a thing around here and they are proud of their shrimp,... but the appetizer with four different styles of shrimp is not a good representation of that. Best crab cake I've ever had, hands down. This has been our favorite place on the Island for years and it just keeps getting better. This was our first time coming to iguanas and it was amazing. Evan was a great server and very attentive! He checked in often and made sure we were taken care of. We got the Caesar salad and shrimp and grits. Let me tell you, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY HATED GRITS UNTIL NOW. I will 10/10 be back. One of the few places open on Christmas Day for dinner. The restaurant was fully decorated for Christmas inside and out. They even make it snow every few minutes. The service was friendly and very good. The dinners all come hush puppies, and one side. I got the fired shrimp and fries. The shrimp were good size, and lightly coated. My wife had the clams and said they were good and well seasoned. My daughter had the mahi and the shrimp combo. Nice size piece of fish and cooked just right. read more

While it's an interesting place and the staff is friendly the food was just so/so. The raw oysters were medium size and not shucked properly. The crab bisque soup very thick but somewhat tasteless. The shrimp platters were ok but the po boy was good. The onion rings while fresh were just warm and soggy. I think the best part is the feee soft serve ice cream at the end. read more

We ended up going here twice during our stay. The first time our server was Jade. She was great. They have a nice selection of beer and we tried a few. All were good but our favorite was the Harps UFO. Entrees were Calamari, Coconut Shrimp, shrimp scampi, shrimp dinner, BLT and Fish sandwich. All excellent. It's a cute place with colorful decor. Iguanas is one of our favorite restaurants to visit every year. The shrimp and fish are amazing, the hush puppies never disappoint and the bar is always flowing! They have a full bar + a specialty drink menu. The added bonus - free soft serve ice cream bar for the end of your meal. Our waitress today was Addy and she was exceptional. She was friendly and attentive. I was highly impressed. The hostess was a doll and very friendly while seating us. The menu has a wide selection of seafood as well as handhelds and burgers. They also have an entire gluten free menu option available. You are unable to make reservations and it does get busy, however, when you check in, they will put your name on a list and contact you via cell phone with your wait time and place in line. I am so mad at my experience here. We ordered two "pick two" platters. One with shrimp and crab cakes, and another with shrimp and crab legs for a $30+ up charge. Whatever, it's vacation and my kids are very excited about it. The first platter consisted of 8 sad, shriveled shrimp and a single crabcake that was more filling than crab. The second was 9 shrimp that had been fried for WAY too long and a cluster of lukewarm crab legs that came with a half-melted knob of butter instead of clarified butter. They forgot the Mac and cheese that was supposed to come with one platter and we didn't see our server to complain about anything for 30 minutes by which time we just didn't care anymore and wanted to be gone. He did eventually bring us the Mac and cheese and I had to laugh because it was a bowl of plain, undressed noodles with a small amount of flavorless sauce spooned on top. All of this plus a kids meal and two drinks cost us over $150. Do not waste your money!!! To top it all off, they tried to seat a party of six with a woman in a wheelchair in the booth next to us. The poor woman in the wheelchair couldn't reach the table and didn't have enough room to turn around. The staff ignored the poor woman for 10 minutes before they could be bothered to move their party to a table that was actually accessible for them. I never write reviews, but this was one of the worst dinner experiences I've had in a long time and people should know. read more

Waiter/service was ok, food was ok and price was ok. Waiter did not tell us about the lunch specials. I ordered the fried shrimp (what Iguanas is known for) appetizer and onion rings which counted as a side. My biggest disappointment was that the portion size was underwhelming- 6 pieces of small to medium sized fried shrimp for $12.99. Given the size of shrimp 8-10 pieces would have been appropriate. Other meals ordered by my party were more generous but just average in taste. I would rate iguanas with 2.5 stars if the rating system allowedbest With all of the restaurant choices on the island I doubt I will be back to iguanas. read more
