OSU Burger with buffalo chicken fries
Brenda O.

The service was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked the decor and the place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good but just didn't have the "wow" factor. I got the OSU burger and added meat hot sauce w/ buffalo chicken fries on the side. The burger did have a good flavor and the meat hot sauce was good. I didn't care for the buffalo fries. The chicken tenders were mediocre and I didn't like the taste of the buffalo sauce. My boyfriend got the hangover burger with a side of bacon cheddar fries. He liked it all but he agreed with me that it didn't make us say "we can't wait to go back". We got onion rings and my first bite was full of cooking oil. That was definitely off putting. I tried one more bite of a different ring and again had a mouth full of oil. We couldn't eat them. I will probably go back just to try a milkshake.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a fun place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had to try this out when I saw it had been posted over and over on Instagram! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Its a warehouse style building with an urban style. Very modern and cow themed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The desserts are fun, unique, tasty and ginormous! The burgers were all great the qr menu is full with apps drinks and entrees along with desserts. Our server was pleasant and dis her best. Our only gripe was for a burger and fries it took 45 min to get to our table, then we ordered our dessert and that was another 25min. In total we were there for 2 hours. Seems like a long time to wait.

Rochester Snow , so good

The service was nice, she let us know that the kitchen was slow because two people had called out and the one person back there was new. I'm sure whoever it was, was trying their best but "slow" to me doesn't mean more than 45 minutes for a burger and fries it's bonkers. The fries came out cold, the burgers were decent.

Burgers NOT Smashed. That was really disappointing because the staff was fun and friendly and the Milkshake was delicious and disappeared quick! Unfortunately the cook must have forgotten to press down the meat on our burgers because they were like hockey pucks. The meat was pretty bland and dry, the bun overpowering the small, dry hockey puck. My fries were pretty soggy in oil. My date's onion rings seemed homemade and were crispy and delicious. We might try again if the manager comps us or something because it's an expensive burger to get wrong.

For sure up there for one of the best burgers in Rochester. The first plus is the large lot for parking in the back. There's a burger option for every one and the patty is pretty substantial. Despite the amount of food and fries, I left feeling satisfied and not over stuffed. The fries themselves are crunchy and cooked well. The milkshakes are enormous and definitely enough to share. The flourless chocolate cake we had was so decadent, you have to try that milkshake if you're a fan of chocolate

Wanted to try a new burger place and have driven by this place a couple of times. It's in a great spot with a brewery, cider, and black button on the same block. Can't wait to go back when it isn't 10 degrees. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our waitress was great and very attentive and the space is cozy but not too crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good. We started with the fries pickle chips. They came out hot, crispy, and deliciously salty. From there I had the onion and bbq burger with an extra patty with garlic parm fries. The extra patty is a must for anyone that has a healthy appetite. The burger had some crispy edges as a smash burger, but was still juicy and tons of flavor with the toppings. Garlic parm fries were doused in garlic parm sauce but held up well to it. Nice thing shoestring fries. Others at the table had the hangover burger and haystack. They enjoyed them, although I tried my daughter's hangover burger and felt the egg was overcooked. Would have loved to have an oozy over easy yolk. We also had a couple of peanut butter milkshakes which were delicious, but brings me to the 4 instead of a 5. I ordered the peanut butter lovers shake and was expecting the shake with all the fixings. It came out as a regular peanut butter shake. Take a look at their menu and see the one I wanted and you will know why I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong the regular shake was great, it just wasn't as cool an exciting as the other. I will have to go back and make sure I get the right one next time.

First time at Moo'd Bar and we were impressed! I had the Haystack Burger--crispy onions, melty cheese, and tons of flavor. My husband got the Hangover Burger and loved it--said the egg and bacon combo hit the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great vibe, friendly staff, and the burgers came out hot and fresh.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll be back!

Decided to try this place out with 2 of my (young adult) kids. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived around 5pm on a Monday night (their hours stated 4pm open) and it was pretty empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a small spot inside but room for maybe 30 or so seats. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did note that it was cold inside and they did have a space heater going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Winter has barely started at the time of this review so I could see this being an issue in Jan and Feb. They serve smash burgers, cocktails and milk shakes. The milk shakes are pricey due to the toppings etc. Averaging around $15. My kids shared 1 and still didn't finish it all. So 2-4 people could split one as a treat. We each got a burger with an extra patty. They got garlic parm fries and I got sweet potatoe fries. The meals were good. Note the individual smash burger patties are on the smaller side so you may want an extra patty (which is an up charge). Honestly for the price they are charging, the burgers should be bigger or come with a double patty already. The Mistletoe cocktail was good, not overpowering (I'd skip the offer to smoke it next time though as the waiter used a gas lighter and that overwhelmed the drink). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'd have made this 4 stars overall but the cold and the prices combined were just a bit too much.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd go again as a treat when they fix their heat or in the summer but it's not a must have stop for me.

FANTASTIC food!!

I have Celiac disease and it's such a pain to find a good burger bun and fries. I was so happy when my plate hit the table, it was delicious! The bun was so fluffy and held up well and the garlic parm fries were to die for. Could the portions have been bigger? Yes, but after how good it tasted we didn't even care. Two small things: #1 I would have loved a kids menu option for our littles and #2 we were rushed to order both our food and our milkshakes. Not a huge deal but I got a little flustered when I was trying to look at the options with the waitress standing over me waiting. We will definitely be back!

I had a great experience at Moo'd burger bar. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the dining room. The modern and spacious design was nice, didn't feel crowded despite the restaurant being busy. Our server was so pleasant and brought a good vibe to the experience. I can't speak on the food as I only came for a milkshake. I know it is a burger bar but I do wish the menu option offered at least one chicken sandwich. The milkshake was such a blast! Be warned the milkshake is massive. You could easily share the milkshake and have plenty due to the size. It tasted delicious and makes for a great photo opportunity. A decadent fun treat. I would like to come back as the server mentioned new seasonal shakes would be coming. Parking was easy to find and we did not have to wait long for our shakes.

Great place not sure why people are rating it so low. As soon as we entered we were able to sit ourselves. There was one waitress and another bar tending/bussing. The waitress Abigail was super friendly attentive helpful and quick. Loved the Music seemed to be playing all from the 90s. The burger fries and milkshake was all delicious and tons of flavor. I got the onion and bbq burger with sweet potato fries. The garlic parm fries for an up charge was soaked in butter so it was yummy. The shake was the peanut butter one. I Iiked how the shake itself wasn't over powering with peanut butter but could have been thicker and colder. Had Fast service as well, didn't wait long from after we sat to when we got the check. Convenient paying with QR code I'll be back I'm sure

Hot & Sweet burger with side of garlic parm fries

We were thrilled that a smash burger and milkshake joint was opening up near us on University Avenue! This particular location already boasts Mueller cider House, nine maiden brewery, Black button, as well as Living Roots right down the street. I believe the place just opened up last week! There is plenty of street parking as well as a lot with additional parking spaces off street next to the building. With regards to the ambience, there is a bar with plenty of seating, two TVs if you want to watch sports while you enjoy your meal or beer, as well as several tables with more traditional seating. The decor is modest but appropriate for the vibe they are going for. They had have several options for burgers and we opted for the Moo'd burger (classic cheeseburger with pickles) with extra patty and a Hot & Sweet burger which was served with pepper jack cheese, fresh jalapeño, and drizzled with hot honey. As someone who enjoys spicy food, I was hoping this burger would scratch the itch. Fries are included which was a bonus as some restaurants now charge extra for this! options for fries are sweet potato or regular, with an additional cost of 1 dollar for garlic parm fries and 2 dollars for onion rings if the that's your fancy. My partner really enjoyed the mood burger! Unlike other smash burgers in the area he felt it was less greasy and very tasty, albeit not spectacular. If you are craving an old fashioned cheeseburger this is it! I thought the pricing on the burger was appropriate at 13 dollars with addition of 3 dollar for the extra patty he ordered. I really enjoyed my burger but it was not spicy (maybe my taste buds for spice have too high a threshold!). I actually preferred the Moo'd burger - I think the cheese really brings out the flavor of the burger. The sweet and spicy burger left something to be desired - perhaps a spicy ranch or spicy mayo? The price was also quite steep at 18 bucks and I thought this was not quite up to par with the Moo'd burger. The garlic parm fries were enjoyable, I just wish they were a little bit more crunchy. We were also pleased to see a variety of beer on tap, including local and domestic beers. They also have a cocktail menu however we did not try this today. Finally, if you are looking for dessert, they have a great selection of milkshakes, which could probably serve a table of 4 to 6!! we did not order this today, but will definitely make another stop for it. Overall, we enjoyed the burgers at this new restaurant. If you enjoy a simple burger without too much fanfare with a variety of profiles, I think you will enjoy this place. We compared their burgers to Jacks extra fancy and felt that it was probably equal to or slightly better, but you be the judge!! :)

Great vibes they had good music playing and the workers are amazing loved it and we will be back!

Warm greeting upon our arrival. We had placed a reservation but probably wasn't necessary for lunch…read moreas the restaurant was fairly empty and we chose a table at the window overlooking the river.Great view and can't wait to return during the warmer weather to sit on the outside patio riverfront. The food is pretty typical tavern fare, burgers, pizza, salads, nothing out of the ordinary. I was with a table of five and our orders varied from a salad to chicken sandwich to a catfish sandwich, etc.. Everyone enjoyed their food so no complaints there. The only reason I dropped a star is my friend had ordered a club soda with a splash of cranberry and they charged her $5.50 and another $5.50 for a refill. We assumed it was a mistake and brought it to their attention, the waitress brought it back to her superior and they refused to alter the bill. We all agreed that $5.50 was expensive for a club soda but to ask if she wanted a refill and to recharge that amount seemed pretty unreasonable. When they refused to remove, it really did not bode well for good customer relations. Kind of left us all with a bad taste in our mouths. Hope they read this and change that policy.

The menu was interesting. I found the pricing to be expensive for bar fare. Some of the appetizers sounded amazing but I didn't want to pay 23 dollars for shumai. I ordered the rabbit stew soup made with actual rabbit. I got provolone on top for an additional dollar. The soup was tasty. I found a bone in the soup but I suppose that comes with the territory. For my entree, I ordered the steak out flatbread with a side salad. I enjoyed the shaved steak on the naan. Great texture and flavor. As we are a large party I sampled items others ordered and appreciated the quality. Great bar atmosphere and decor. We even saw a booth designated as the mayor's. Didn't realize it was karaoke night and got roped into singing. It added a fun and adventurous element to the evening. Overall, good service and food, though pricey for bar food in my opinion.

It was between a 3 and 4 anyway, so 4 is fine. The original review is below. I love a good burger and have had some truly spectacular ones in my day, so I had high expectations of this place considering the reviews. That was my mistake. The service was really nice although the wait time was a little hefty. Like a hefty bag. However the burger was definitely aimed at the kinds of people that don't have the same sense of taste that I do. For example a ton of tasteless melted cheese with some tasteless meat that wasn't juicy enough for me. It just didn't do it for me at all. The milkshake tasted like Hershey's syrup mixed with creamer. It also wasn't the finest hour of milkshakes. However they are a little local business and apparently the locals really like this place a lot so three stars is fine. I guess. Keep your Zocs on.
