OK, y'all, I just found my favorite burger joint. I have the Astro burger which has a bourbon sauce and jalapeños on it. Hubbo had the Zai burger but added bacon, because bacon. And we had an order of the loaded fries with meat sauce. And two shakes but the shakes were basic. Service was excellent. The place is super small. But get snug. Cuz go there. We were not sure where to park so we risked it all by parking at the AutoZone. Don't be like us. read more

The original review is below. I love a good burger and have had some truly spectacular ones in my day, so I had high expectations of this place considering the reviews. That was my mistake. The service was really nice although the wait time was a little hefty. Like a hefty bag. However the burger was definitely aimed at the kinds of people that don't have the same sense of taste that I do. For example a ton of tasteless melted cheese with some tasteless meat that wasn't juicy enough for me. It just didn't do it for me at all. The milkshake tasted like Hershey's syrup mixed with creamer. It also wasn't the finest hour of milkshakes. However they are a little local business and apparently the locals really like this place a lot so three stars is fine. I guess. Keep your Zocs on. read more

Excited to support a local business close to home! It's a tiny spot with just a few tables so take out is your best option. Tonight, he was out of Burgers! So, roll with the flow! We had fries, steak sandwiches and canned drinks. Zoc was manning the kitchen and also waiting for the impending arrival of his second child (not at the restaurant!). Local business love!! Can I just say that this place is a diamond in the ruff. Located almost on the corner of Westfield St & Chili Ave in the city is a small little house with a simple sign the you may pass if you go to fast. Parking is located in the back of the building & then you walk around front to enter. There is a very small dining room with boards games & a television for your entertainment while your delicious food is cooked. This is one of those places you order at the counter. We ordered 2 turkey burgers, one cheeseburger, small chocolate shake & a large hand cut fries all for under $30! The girl at the counter was very friendly & pulled a table that was pushed against the wall to the center of the dining room for us to sit at. The chef made sure our food was made exactly how we wanted it. Food came out nice & hot. Portions are big & very tasty. Both staff members checked on us through out our meal. I could eat here every time I pass it! The only thing I can say needs to be fixed is the soda cans. The soda was warm, they did offer us glasses with ice but not the same as getting an ice cold can of soda from the start. We will be back! read more

The shrimp and steak sub is the best I have ever had. "PERIODT!" The plain fries leave a bit more to be desired. They tend to be sparse, not crispy and a little oily. The Zai fries and other specialty fries are perfection so I am not sure what the issue is with the plain fries. The milkshakes are also yummy. Zoc is so friendly and funny when you come in and order. It's that he is passionate about what he does, about what he creates, and about the smiles he puts on his customers' faces when they sink their teeth into every masterpiece of his. Zoc is an artist with great attention to detail, from the Russian dressing in just the right amount he puts on the Cobb Burger, to the thick slabs of smoky bacon, cooked to perfection, that intentionally overextend the crispy edges of the lightly toasted hard roll. Not only is the food absolutely incredible at Zoc's, the wait staff is super friendly, the dining area is nicely kept, and there are games like cards and Connect Four you can play while Zoc does his thing---a really nice touch. The menu of unique burgers makes it hard to choose but I love spinach artichoke dip so I knew this would have to be the one. It did not disappoint the burger blended well with the spin/art along with garlic aioli. Burgers are cooked to your preference mine was a little more pink than I desired but it was so good I pretended I didn't see it. The absolute best burger we've had in Rochester. The ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. I'm so glad Zoc's is only 10 minutes from my house! Cobb Burger = The. Best. Just do it. I'm pretty sure I'll be craving bacon and hard-boiled eggs on my burgers forever. Bacon Burger = Best served with meat sauce on top, according to my husband. This is my third time eating here...finally getting around to writing a review. I love it. Service is great! I had half a chicken cheesesteak. It comes with peppers, onions, mozzarella and house sauce. It was amazing. I also enjoyed the sweet potato fries but if you're not a sweet potato fan go with the seasoned fries. Very cool location in a remodeled house off Chili Ave. - there's games at every table, an Xbox, and Netflix was playing when we walked in (The Office, so my immediate impression was 'ok this place is cool'). The menu prices all seemed reasonable. A sm side of Cajun fries were only $1.50 and the portion was worth it. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, and added lettuce, tomato, and aoli. Toppings are priced in tiers- basic ones are free and then an up-charge for premium. My friend has a grilled cheese with fries as well. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was casual. It was cooked perfectly medium rare exactly as I ordered it and was served on the perfect heavy duty bun to keep all of the goopy toppings with the burger. First off, best burger I've had in a long time and I travel all over the country. I had a chance to meet Zoc, the owner and chef and a class act he is. I ordered the Cobb burger and man was it good! Presentation was beautiful, fresh angus beef cooked perfectly, thick cut bacon, fresh cut lettuce, hard boiled egg, onion, thousand island dressing, and a slice of heirloom tomato, and bun that was toasted and out of this world (and homemade pickles). You can tell that Zoc has put a lot of thought and hard work into his product and he took the time to fill me in about where he gets his ingredients. Okay so I don't usually mess with Yelp as far as giving reviews (I do use it to look up reviews) but Zoc's made me sign up. I ordered for work and had to drive over there from Mt. Hope, but it was worth it. I had their cobb burger. It was everything I needed and more. I mean really, who knew that a hard boiled egg was good on a burger? I'm not big into fries but those gave me life too. My coworkers had the Florentine burger and they said it was good too. If I had to complain about anything, its the fact that I found out that they deliver to my house through GrubHub.
