Aesthetically it's one of the cutest cafes in the area. There's plenty of spaces to eat and study and spend time catching up with friends. As for the food, the popcorn chicken is definitely a hit. It was really fresh and hot and was well seasoned. We were pretty excited to try the egg waffle ice cream, and it was very insta-worthy but fell flat. The ice cream didn't really taste like blue bell and the waffle irons weren't working that day, so it took them over half an hour to get ours. I understand that stores can be flooded with orders but to give attitude to your customer is unacceptable. My friends and I had placed an order online and it took 30 minutes. When we had called about half way into waiting, she had asked for our names for the order and when we mentioned that we placed it a out 10-15 minutes earlier before, she said "Oh we know.". Not exactly royal, but then neither am I :) This is a cute enough cafe, probably peopled most nights by those sweet, dorky group of high school friends who are super into studio ghibli and studying together (high school me would have loved this place). The decor is modern with nod to paris-meets-tokyo cafe kitsch. The menu is a bit confusing, featuring a wide range of things from poke to smoothies to fried rice in a tempting half-hollowed pineapple. The "spicy" poke is off-putting, Seems like the fish, instead of being cubed and tossed in a spicy mayo is minced and mixed with spicy mayo, which gives it a weird fish paste consistency. The regular poke is much better, and I like the customization options for bases (salad, brown rice, white rice), toppings (edamame, radish and many more), and sauces. Price is great at around $8 for the standard size poke bowl. The bubble tea is hit or miss and the drinks take a while to make. As mentioned by other reviewers, the tea can be syrupy sweet or just slightly too sweet, even when requested to be at 30% sweetness. Flavors are good and they often use fresh fruit garnishes for fruit flavored teas, which I appreciate. But the tendency cloying sweetness can make it hard to finish. I have to note that short of driving up to Richardson or Carrollton, this is the best bubble tea place for miles. I got the M2) milk green tea with boba and I asked for the 500 ml in a bag which is a small and they charged me and gave me a large and when I confronted them they said that they only have one size and that they have changed the menu. Completely ridiculous and the boy that I spoke to was completely lying saying they have one size when they obviously had two and just overcharged me. Boba was hard and not worth the money at all. I feel like they try to sell an assortment of everything you could possibly crave while studying or chatting up with friends. On the way home from Deep Ellum back to Allen, my husband and I decided to make a quick stop here for boba. I had learned that they serve a taro drink that supposedly has taro chunks in the drink. The cashier was nice and I could tell people that live in the area are in love with the cafe because at least 3 people walked in while I was there and asked for "their normal" and were served very quickly. A big thumbs down. I was so excited to see a boba shop over in this area of Dallas. I stopped by one day when they were celebrating National Ice Cream Day with a BOGO on the rolled ice creams, which was nice. I ended up getting the rose rolled ice cream with strawberries and mochi as toppings. This was my first time having rolled ice cream and I was not a fan. Overpriced and it was not the best ice cream-esque at all. Which I guess is the difference between regular ice cram and rolled ice cream. My major complain would be the boba drink I got. We ended up getting the taro milk tea in the pouches because it's so unique. First off, I had a hard time trying to figure out how to even open this pouch. It's kind of like a ziploc bag so you have to be careful if you're on the go. Second, it's literally a bag shaped into a caprisun style pouch. Third, it literally tasted like water with a hint of taro powder. I was so disappointed that I had to throw most of it away. It's sad because at other boba places, when I ask for half sweet, it still has the flavor there compared to here where I did not get half sweet. Don't get me wrong, it's a cute little shop. Very decorated with a lot of cute trinkets and stuff throughout the place but my experience was tainted by the drink. I've been here two times now, and both of my experiences have been short of great. The first time, I had their taro milk tea in the "creative bag" (basically a Capri-Sun milk tea), which looked novel and cute, so I opted to try it. I don't recommend getting the creative bag if you're going to be in your car or mobile anytime soon, because it is a little cumbersome to insert the straw in without resting it on a table. The second time I tried their egg waffle. Their menu is pretty extensive offering items such as boba, hand-rolled ice cream, fried rice, poke bowls, snacks like popcorn chicken, macarons, egg waffles, and now even slices from Lady M's mille crepe cakes. Even though their menu is pretty extensive, I thought it was a little confusing when it came to the egg waffle. I've seen pictures on Yelp where the egg waffles comes surrounding scoops of ice cream with fresh fruit and Pocky sticks. Actually, all of these add-ons are things that you can add if you tell them and it does cost extra. From looking at the menu, there was no indication that having these add-ons was an option, so I just ordered an egg waffle with vanilla ice cream (after asking if ice cream was included or not). If you want to add hand-rolled ice cream it's an additional $3, Blue Bell ice cream is an additional $1.50. It took quite a long time to receive our egg waffles (we ordered two). We had to ask them about our order a few times, and it seemed they were struggling with preparing it. When I received my egg waffle, the pastry itself was delicious, but the Blue Bell vanilla ice cream tasted really off....it had a strange texture that was very thick and gelatinous. Additionally, I felt like I could taste individual sugar granules instead of a smooth, creamy texture. It tasted so off that I had to remove the ice cream entirely. My friend's ice cream didn't taste as strange. Maybe my ice cream had melted and refrozen? I'm not sure. Since my friend's egg waffle did take a much longer time than mine, and came in pieces on a plate they offered her a free egg waffle the next time she came back. My other friend opted to try their drinks. She ordered a honey black tea, and she enjoyed the drink and boba. However, her "creative bag" seemed larger than the one I had received at my first visit, and was more cumbersome to drink from (she had to push the drink from the bottom of the back because the straw was too short). My taro milk tea from my first visit was so bland and tasteless, it literally tasted like water. I had to throw it away. Service was okay; they weren't helpful during ordering like mentioning to me that I could add ice cream or fresh fruit to the egg waffles for a fee (there are models of these egg waffles with the works by the window...you'd think it'd be an actual item on the menu). It's located next to Norma's Cafe if you're having trouble finding it. Also there's an $8 minimum for credit cards. This place is really cute, and I had high hopes for it since there aren't many boba/Asian dessert places near my complex, but I haven't been exactly satisfied by my two visits so far. They also put tapioca pieces which are yellow or black jelly like, this is also great! The boba balls itself needs a little work. At other places they are softer and better.
