I somehow convinced myself to give extensions another chance after contracting conjunctivitis from another lash salon. (eww) I've been using strip lashes but wanted to save myself some time by booking with Moon Lash. Location - Corner of Homewood and Commonwealth with ample street parking. You'll be given a code to punch into security pad but the door is almost always wide open. Service - I have been 3-4 times so far for 2 tips flat full set extensions. My assigned lash tech is Susan. I see some reviews about her being rude or impatient. I honestly felt awkward at my first visit with her because she would often let out a long sigh during the process. On the other hand, Susan did such a great job with my lashes that I returned a month later. I wanted natural looking lashes (short with slightly more volume). I made an effort to spark a conversation with her in my later visits and came to realize that sighing was probably a force of habit for her. It doesn't bother me anymore but I see how it could make others feel uncomfortable. I have extremely sensitive eyes so I always walk out with red and teary eyes. There is burning during and after the service and slight eye pain which takes roughly a week for my eyes to fully recover - no pus so I know it's not an infection. Price - You get what you pay for. The service takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour. I pay opt to pay in cash to avoid the transaction fee. I usually pay under $130 with tip. The lashes last roughly 2-3 weeks for me. The bathroom sink needs some cleaning. It looked unsanitary during my last visit. read more

I was supposed to have my 3D refill done next week, but my lashes were looking a bit scrawny and I was able to get a last minute appointment with one of the newest technician, Fairy. I usually stick with Chelsea, but she's probably one of the most popular technician there. Like most personal care places, such as massages, manicures, etc, we tend to stick with the same person because we know their work. Fairy did an outstanding job. She wasn't overly chatty and worked diligently to provide me with the lashes I described to her. I asked for 3D but no "cat eyes". They were spot on. I would highly recommend Fairy if you're looking for a new technician. Being said that, when I first started coming to Moon, I tried probably 6 different technicians in the Brea location, before discovering my "favorite" ones. I moved to the Buena Park area and have been desperate to find a lash studio closer to home. I came across Moon Lash & Beauty and with the high reviews decided to book an appointment. Scheduling is made easy through their online booking website; however, shortly after booking, I received a text asking to move my appointment by an hour earlier or later. Luckily, I was able to adjust my schedule to accommodate. The text provides great instruction for entering the building. Note that the parking lot is VERY small. I'm not sure if street parking is an option, but would check signs and park there if available! Once I walked in, I was quickly assisted by my artist. She was very friendly and the conversation made the session go by very quickly. I booked for a lash lift and have had this procedure done before. Unfortunately, the artist at Moon Lash & Beauty was unable to remove all the glue used in the lash lift and so she advised that when I wash my face at night, to put extra care to remove the remaining glue around my eyelids. The stickiness from the glue made my eyelids feel so strange for the rest of the evening! Luckily the glue did come off with my cleanser, but I have never experienced walking out of a studio with so much leftover product that I would have to remove myself. The final result of my lash lift was also not to the quality I was hoping for. For a total of $120 spent (lash extension removal + lash lift for new client), I hoped for more consistency in the curl of my lashes. I won't mention the artist's name, but it was not Chelsea (who seems to really be the star artist at this studio!). I was informed that classic set was going to be one to one ratio of lash to real lash ratio (which is the same everywhere I've went so far). However, what they didn't tell me was that the classic set would look like I didn't even do anything to my normal lashes in the first place. I think it's because they used really thin lashes but I'm just so upset because I could have saved $75+ by just getting a removal and going home and putting on mascara (and it still would have looked better than what I got). I have been addicted to lash extensions for a few years now. So I have been to several different places in OC. Moon Lash in Buena Park is my favorite so far. I like the convenience of being able to schedule an appointment via their website. They will send a reminder text the day before. Also, the prices are straightforward as they are listed on their page. The physical location is on the 1st floor of a brick commercial building. The parking is a bit tight in their lot. I would suggest street parking to be on the safe side. My full set was done by Chelsea and lasted a little over an hour. She is pretty amazing with her work. The lashes stayed in tact for 4 weeks and even made it through my vacation in Hawaii. The interior of the lash studio is open and spacious. There are several work stations and the music is very relaxing. I have been here 2 times already and love it! I usually select a natural voluminous look that is suitable for night and day. It's my second times coming to Moonlash. I really like the way the lash feels, very light, feathery, super soft. The first time my lash was natural style, 2D, and they stayed full for 3weeks. This time It is 3D , elegant style, length 15 with Chealse I'm so happy that I found this place, the previous lash shop that I went , they put cluster lashes and those fall off which leave so much gap after 2weeks. I'm saddened that I have to leave this review. Lash artists, please wash your hands before handling your clients. I came in to get my lashes done at the Buena Park location. While doing my lashes, my lash artist went on her phone a few time throughout the process. I don't mind it, but if you're going to touch anything that may be unsanitary, please wash your hands or put hand sanitizer on. During the process, the lash glue was burning and after the procedure I could feel my lashes very close to my eyelid. I ended up getting an infection in one of my eyes and had to take my lashes out the next day. Just please be aware of cleanliness. I was really excited to go to this lash bar after seeing all these great reviews, but my experience was very unpleasant. Service was also not the greatest. No greeting when I came in. read more

PROS: (1) really like the vibe of this place - clean and posh. (2) beautiful lashes (1) Unfortunately the glue/adhesives used on the actual lashes placed are very hash. My eyes are super red, VERY painful and have mucus discharge for at least 48h after getting these done . And this is their "sensitive glue" . I had to get eye steroids on prescription! (2) They take a long 2 hours (vs 45 min at other places). And they talk on the phone the entire time. Not a very pleasant aesthetic experience at all. Too much $$$$ for all the pain, time and noise. Solid lash salon in Buena Park with good prices, and new customers get a discount! I got the Wispy Natural volume set and really liked the style. The service itself went very quickly, a little less than an hour! It was less volume than I was expecting, but definitely gave a very feathery, light look which I liked! I got a bunch of compliments on this set as well. Retention is pretty good, lasted 3 weeks before it started looking wonky. I docked one star because the lash tech got glue on the tops of a few of my inner corner lashes which made it impossible to comb through in that segment. Also even in the first week I started to see a few lashes curl in weird ways, but that was easy to tame with a comb through (I feel this usually does not happen until 2nd-3rd week for most sets I get though). I've been a client at Moon Lash & Beauty at their Brea location since 2019; I have included an image of my email confirmations as proof. I recently moved and decided to try their Buena Park location as it is closer to where I live now. After today's visit, I'm not sure if I will be returning to any of their locations. I typically pick who is going to do my lashes by selecting who has the best time slot for my schedule. So naturally I've tried quite a few of Moon Lash & Beauty's lash technicians. Since 2019, I've only ever had an issue twice where I had to go back to get a set fixed/readjusted. Now here is where the issue begins. For anyone who has ever questioned about whether or not the technicians are talking about you, the answer is a resounding yes. Yes, they are talking about us. I understand both Mandarin and Cantonese, and have heard a plethora of minor things being spoken not only about myself but others as well that I initially was willing to overlook because I don't typically go to establishments like this expecting the best customer service/general politeness. I go just to get my lashes done, and have typically been able to ignore the comments being made. However, after today I finally felt the need to say something. Today was my first time at the Buena Park location, and I had Fairy as my technician. Overall, I think she did an okay job on my lashes. I received a 2D full set from her, but I do feel like they aren't as full as previous sets that I have gotten from other technicians, but overall I am content with the outcome. This negative review is actually not about Fairy, but rather it is about Chelsea. As soon as I lay down and start the lash process, Chelsea begins talking poorly about me to Fairy in Chinese. I was honestly a bit confused/shocked (as I initially did not know it was Chelsea) and thought perhaps that they mistook me for another client as this was my first time at the Buena Park location. But alas, she was indeed talking about me. To backtrack, out of the 2 times I've ever had an issue as aforementioned, one of the times I didn't like my lashes was a set with Chelsea, which was over 2 years ago. I guess she took this personally when I didn't make any more appointments with her and labeled me as a difficult/pretentious client. I was honestly in a state of disbelief that she would say these things about me as I have been a repeat client, always tip, and have generally always just picked technicians based on my schedule. I was very upset, and debated whether or not to say anything right then and there, but with the jumble of eyelash remover, tape, etc. on my eyes, I decided to say nothing until after my eyes were done. The banter between Chelsea and Fairy made me feel so uncomfortable and upset while I was trying to just relax and have a nice day and get my lashes done. Meanwhile, after they are done talking about me, they proceed to talk about other clients. Again, I have ignored these comments in the past. Other technicians make comments on the difficulty of doing my eyes, (they water, are sensitive, don't always close properly) and I've never taken those comments personally. I have also heard them make similar comments about other clients ranging from them being unhygienic, cheap, difficult, have an attitude, etc. After a very uncomfortable 2 hours of getting my lashes done, I confronted Chelsea by asking who she was just to confirm if she had been someone who has done my lashes in the past. After confirming it was her, I told her that I understand Chinese and that it was extremely rude and disrespectful of her to talk about me, especially while I am lying within 3 feet of her and her own client, whom they also were talking about. All she could do was sheepishly apologize because I'm sure that she was just as shocked as I was. I've been booking appointments with Moon Lash since 2019, I have a Chinese surname, I don't have the "typical" Chinese look, but my last name alone should have been a giveaway that I might be able to speak and understand Chinese. I go to places like this knowing that the people working may make comments about you here and there (think stereotypical nail salon scenario), but the fact that they think it is okay to talk so poorly about their clients because they think you don't understand is so brazenly disrespectful. The least they could do is a general profiling of the person or text each other if they really feel the need to say something in poor taste so that the client doesn't hear. With that being said, I'm unsure if I will be returning. The technicians generally do good work, but are not always consistent with style/placement/etc. as I personally have experienced a lack of standardization between lash technicians. Regardless, I'm no longer comfortable recommending Moon Lash in good faith, and will begin to look elsewhere for my lashes. read more

Chelsea did my lashes here a month ago and girl lemme tell you, it's been 5 weeks and my lashes are still in tact Chelsea recommended booking a full after the 3-5 week period but I just didn't see a need for them quite yet, most likely 6 for me. Since I was a new client for them, I received a new client special on my 2D lashes. Before beginning, you are offered a choice between two lash lengths (not too much different than the other) but one is slightly longer. I paid around $85 for my lashes, not including tip. read more

My visit was 10 days ago. I had gone in for a lash removal and new 3D Volume set.(which I had) The girl asked me if I wanted the same style, and assuming we were on the same page, I said "Yes". After 2 hrs 30min (which was rather long in my opinion) she shows me the new set and it didn't look like a 3D volume set. I didn't say anything bc I thought maybe I needed to look at them closer. When I got to the car the disappointment kicked in, they were definitely not a 3D volume set. I was so upset! Why did it take so LONG and the lashes didn't even look that great. With NYE the next day, I wanted a beautiful full set of lashes. I was already late for a dinner so I didn't bother going back in. Anyway, 10 days later, the lashes look TERRIBLE! My previous new set(from the Orange location) lasted me a whole month and still looked decent without any refills. I am extremely disappointed in this visit. I have attached photos to show what this new set looks like after 10 days. It's so embarrassing walking around with these. **UPDATE!!!** I changed the rating bc Moon Lash BP reached out to me and despite my review, they were nice to me. CUSTOMER SHOULD BE ALWAYS RIGHT I usually go to Brea but they were booked so I drove extra far to this location and I'll never go back. The girl Kathy doesn't have good customer service skills and it was stuffy and it was also hot in there, I had to ask them to turn on the AC because I was starting to sweat. My low score is for Kathy. I told Kathy that I didn't like my length (11-13) and wanted to go shorter. Well when she was done I realized she still did the SAME length. It was poking my inner eyes and I just didn't like it. You get 3 days to get your lashes fixed for free at Moon Lash which I appreciate so when I went back to get what I wanted (size 10-11 length) I was getting a lot of back talk from Kathy. Literally we spent 10 minutes going back and forth about what I said and what she said and I was annoyed that she kept trying to justify herself. Anyways another girl ended up redoing my lashes to length 10-11 and it was EXACTLY the look I wanted! So had Kathy listened to me the first time and did my lashes shorter I wouldn't have to waste my day driving from LA to get them fixed. I forget the girls name who fixed it but she was super nice- I tipped her $20 for fixing Kathy's mistake. For customers to pay (ridiculous expensive) $75-$120 for eyelashes that lasts only a few weeks you should appreciate them and make sure they're happy with your work. Period. Update: they've offered to fix/remove my lashes I got my first set of eyelash extensions, EVER on Monday with Chelsea. It is now Friday and a few started falling out today (4 days later). One side is looking kinda wonky and I know a huge chunk wants to fall out. I hope it hangs on! I have texted them and waiting for a response. ---- My experience: I scheduled my appt for 2:45. They confirmed my appt time. Then, they asked me if I could come in earlier. I stated the earliest I could come was 2pm but I would try to be there as early as I could. I was trying to be helpful! I ended up getting there around 1:45 or so. There was another customer in the chair and I ended up waiting until 2:15-2:20. That was weird since they seemed like they really wanted me there earlier. I wish I could've just kept my original appt time! I scheduled classic fill (first time customer). I've never had eyelash extensions before. All I knew was that I wanted it to look natural and not make my small eyes look even smaller. Chelsea showed me the pictures of the different eyelash styles. I said I wanted more volume but that I liked the look of the natural style the most. She stated the 2d look would be the best option for me. She said there was less error involved if I went with the pricier option instead of the natural style that I liked. I agreed because I trusted her opinion since she has good reviews on yelp. The experience in itself was fine. Chelsea is nice and apologized for the wait time. Afterwards my eyes were kind of red and stingy. I figured that was normal. She provided me with aftercare instructions and told me to wait at last 6 hours before wetting my eyes. I ended up waiting 48 hours because I wanted them to glue to bond for as long as possible. Overall, I like them. Although, I think they may be too long looking for my eye shape. I would probably go shorter next time. I don't think Iash extensions are for me. I don't want to deal with the upkeep in the future. Plus, I can't believe they fall out so QUICKLY even though I've been treating them with care for the past 4 days! I don't think that is NORMAL AT ALL from what I've read. At this point, I will just have them removed. I'm guessing they will ALL fall out in the next few weeks. Which is sad because she told me I would probably need to come back for a refill in 3 weeks not a few days. I do feel like I threw away my money ($85+ tip). I cannot recommend this place if you're looking for lashes that last for 2-3 weeks. I can only hope that the health of my lashes isn't completely destroyed.
