Chicagoland Pizza

Moon Pie was incredibly mediocre. We - party of three - were starving and looking to satisfy our cravings for some good za. Here's the quick & dirty: * Ordered a Caesar salad for the table - it had barely any dressing or flavor; the undertone of anchovy tasted off * Ordered a Chicagoland Pizza, featuring sausage, parmesan and giardiniera (an Italian pickled vegetable relish which I didn't think fit - better on a classic New Orleans Muffuletta sandwich) * Ordered a Veggie Pizza, featuring quality toppings of pesto, pistachios, arugula and ricotta cheese (so something tasted good) But the base of this pizza, the very foundation? The crust was horrible: thin and flavorless. I read that this is supposed to be "Chicago tavern-style pizza," but I have a hard time believing that this is what they're serving there! We felt bad for the people working there - super nice but spread so thin on a Saturday night. Hire more employees to take care of the expected crowd on a weekend night! I know they're fairly new so maybe they'll make some substantial changes for the better.

I've been in here a couple of times. The first time I had the white pizza, stuffed jalapeños and Caesar salad. The jalapeños were ok. The salad was pretty good too, but I'm just not a fan of the pizzas. They're too thin and crispy for me. Similarly this last time I got the whipped ricotta and the muffuletta. The ricotta was delicious, but I probably would have preferred a different kind of bread than the thin crostinis. I enjoyed the muffuletta though. It was really filling and the bread was delicious. The best things about Moon Pie are the large outdoor patio with seating and trees and the service has always been really good. There was a dog on the patio this last time, so it appears that dogs might be allowed now

I totally forgot to check in. My only complaint was trying to find parking. Other than that. This place was great. Great customer service, food, and drinks. So many cute spots to take photos. The bathroom was clean. It was definitely a new experience that I enjoyed.

Met the owner Matt who was super hospitable!

Loved this vibe, food, drinks and people! We hosted a networking event for Phoenix Rising FinTech group last night and it was a blast! Food, drinks and hospitality were exceptional! Also enjoyed the music bingo! Favs: Hot honey pizza, whipped ricotta app and the aperol spritz were great! Matt the owner was really welcoming and even gave us a personal tour of the downstairs speakeasy! Bartender Rob was amazing at taking care of our 20+ group and was so fun! Anna also made sure we were well taken care of, couldn't have asked for a better night! We will definitely be back!

The ambiance was pretty cool, right in downtown Phoenix. The service was a bit slow but it could be that we were the first customers and they were still getting ready. The pizza was good, but the crust was a little burnt. It tasted like a St Louis style pizza minus the Provel cheese. It was very thin with a cracker like crust. Overall a decent spot if you're craving this style of pizza.

Love the aesthetics - the greenery and the greenhouse feel, along with those beautiful lights on the ceiling. There is a very expansive patio with lots of tables, and both misters and fire pits to cover all seasons. The menu looks rather small but offers lots of options ranging from salads to pizzas, subs, appetizers and desserts. You may or may not find parking easily - it's downtown Phoenix and that can be hit or miss. There is a parking structure right next to this establishment, it's $5 per hour. I'm not sure if the business validates parking stubs or not, we just got a metered spot a couple blocks away. Service was very friendly and quick, but we went on a Tuesday around 6 pm. It was not crowded. Don't know how busy it gets on Fridays or on weekends. The food was excellent. If you like thin crust pizza, you're in luck. My friends enjoyed the hot honey pizza. I had a make-your-own pizza, which was very tasty. We also had the garlic bread. I was clearly too distracted by my surroundings to think of taking photos of the food. They also have lots of cocktails and drinks to choose from.

This is a new restaurant where Teddy's Preserve used to be. It has a great outside area with many different options for seating. Service was decent. The jalapeños were very salty. The Caesar salad had way too much dressing which made the lettuce limp. The white pizza just had no real flavor at all. Hopefully this was just opening jitters and they will work out the kinks because we can always use another pizza place downtown.

Comfortable space to chill and good food & drinks. It would be a gray location to watch games with multiple large TVs.

I can't say enough about the new regime at Moon Pie. I've had poor service in the past at this spot, but the new management seems to sincerely care about the customer experience. There are so many options nearby so that matters to me. I've had several iterations of their pizza and all are satisfying and delicious. The drinks I've ordered have been right on the money in relation to flavors, portion and price. My favorite feature at Moon Pie is the atmosphere; at the bar; high top in bar, dining table inside the restaurant, dining table on the outer side of bar, cozy couch seating in the lobby with pillows and coffee tables, giant comfy patio furniture, or dining and pub tables outside in the courtyard. The courtyard is clean, shaded in some places and sunny in others with clean synthetic grass. So many options to find your perfect spot. I can't wait to have a reason to have a party here!

Came here on a Friday evening with our kids. Good food, drinks were solid, and the patio is awesome for kids to run around a bit and play. We got the breadsticks, stuffed jalapeños, meatball sub, and two pizzas. We'll be back!

First time at Moon Pie was an absolute win. We got the 1/2 Caesar & the homemade dressing was delish. I ed it & Caesar is not my fave dressing. That's just how good it was. We also got the Chicagoland pizza. This one has fennel sausage & giardiniera. It was a creative topping & worth a try. Looking forward to return & try the hot honey pizza. If you like thin crust Chicago pizza this is a must go.

The food is super good because I am not a big fan of thick pizza so this is perfect for me. Also the manager guy and the team is so friendly and welcoming. And the place decor is so pretty for the place in downtown so I would love to slice recommend this place to everyone in town and out of town. Also if you have kids they have arcade for your kid to play if they get bored

Inside atmosphere, upscale pizza place. Staff was attentive throughout the night. All of the food hits. Maybe I'm sucked in to the lore, but I don't care. All of the food brought flavor worth the hype. This is the kind of spot you want to bring your out of town guests to. Experience it, I know I will again. Best result for me was an air fryer for the leftover pizza.

Many of us…read moreremember the mid-1990s when reports were coming out of Phoenix that some new pizzeria might just serve the best pizza in the United States! What? So far from New York? How is this possible? And the reports kept coming. Bronx native Chris Bianco had done the impossible, expanding authentic pizzas beyond the Mississippi River. The accolades and awards were endless, the critics raved, and even documentaries were produced. So we all started putting this place on our bucket list. I finally made the pilgrimage in 2026 to this mecca, this icon, this uber-famous destination. And it was worth the hype! The most beautiful red sauce complements the perfectly stretchy fresh mozzarella. Since I opted for the Sonny Boy, I was treated to high quality slices of salami and whole olives. The crust is thin, charred in various spots, slightly crispy on the bottom but still properly chewy. It is a thing to behold, ranking right up there with the best pizzas I've had in Italy and the states! I wish the olives were halved and not whole so they wouldn't roll off my pizza. But I didn't care. I even violated my germaphobic code for the first time in decades and snatched an olive off the table, it was that good! Because of its location inside Heritage and Science Park, there is a mandatory $10 parking charge for valeting plus a recommended tip. There is no validating inside the restaurant. But the surprise surcharge was also worth it!

It had been a minute, but my friends and I made the Cibo lunch scene the other day. Now, when Italian-Americans order lunch, it's a given, EVERYTHING ordered is for the table. The pizza was as good as any Neapolitan-style pizza in town, including that dude named "Chris". The arancini was slightly over-fried, but I actually dug the crunch. Salad, fresh. Staff, energetic and fun. Fellas, take your date. You'll be a hero. Some places are restaurants. Some become part of a city's story. Cibo feels a lot like the latter.

We were seated and immediately after sitting down I literally couldn't hear anything anyone was saying at my table. Most the customers were crammed into the front right room and it was impossible to hear anyone at my table with loud women surrounding us enjoying lunch (which is fine) but break up the crowd a little.. I immediately stood up and asked to be moved so we could atleast hear each other. The young teen who Sat us was very helpful and moved us to a different table in the back right. When I tried to order the appetizer, I said "Yes, (looking at the waitress) we'd like to split a Caprese ( glances at my daughter to confirm in a questioning voice hesitating at the end) The waitresses said, "ok, I'll come back in a few when you figure it out" obviously not willing to wait a few seconds for a confirmation. We just sat there going Wow?!? That was wild, we also had our pizza orders ready but ended up waiting till she wandered back our way. The entire time we felt like we were keeping her from her kids? Grandkids? We definitely put her out, drinks were not offered beyond the first, I had to ask for a second one. The pizzas came, but not mine. I was informed it was wrong and they had to remake it. After my pizza finally came I realized it was still rather doughy and undercooked. We moved on as my daughters were done eating thier pizza and one of them grabbed boxes and we boxed them and waited to order crepes. We finally got our crepes and mine didn't look gf and was missing the allergy flag. We waited a few and I finally got up and went to the front room, the 2 teen girls (servers? They were serving) were messing around in the front room and almost ran into me when I FINALLY went up front to say My food had been messed up after it was dropped, no one checked back. They kept messing around and then stopped and looked at me asking if I needed help. I said YES please. She went into the side room to the front left and the waitress got up from the table where she was sitting with the other kids (that were at the drink fountain when we'd walked in.) She asked what she could help me with... I told her my gf pizza was not cooked all the way; I'd thrown it into a box (that we'd actually went to get) and I'll reheat it properly later and eat it, but the crepe I was concerned as there was not an allergy flag and it looked JUST like my daughters texture wise. I'm familiar with the crepes and I REALLY didn't think it was gf. She said she would not do anything about the pizza since I didn't mention it prior but the crepe was indeed gluten free. A little stunned I again said I would take the pizza home and reheat, I didn't ask for anything in regards to the pizza as they reheat well... and I would not eat the crepe, I truly didn't think it was gf! She said they'd remake it. I replied no thank you. (I'd already sat once while my party ate, for the gf pizza to be remade... I wasn't doing that again. With an attitude she told me she'd remove it from the bill! One bite was cut out and STILL on the fork, it should but have been an issue. I love Cibo and the food is amazing and it's worth the drive to come from Surprise for a treat, but that was a bit much...I'll be back, but I'll definitely ask for a different server!

You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really liked the prices here, we got dinner for less than $25 for 2. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other slices and get a pie of the vodka!
