Along comes Marc & Nicole Emerson, owners of Pacific Landscape. Marc checked every one of my boxes in a search for someone I could trust with my landscaping project. He walked my neighborhood with me, I pointed out what I liked in other yards and Marc designed a plan that blew all of the other yards away. He worked with me every step of the way and communicated with me even though I probably drove him nuts with hundreds of questions he was always professional, knowledgeable and helpful. His crew Bernie & Alex were amazing working in the Las Vegas heat the end of June. I watched them every step of the way for three days. Alex daily explained what they were doing which made me feel very confident that this project would be a overwhelming success. The office "fired" us when we brought the below situation to their attention. Grass dead, weeds everywhere and when we requested the dead plants removed we were advised that we booked "maintenance" not "landscaping" by the "maintenance worker" who admitted they've been serving this house weekly with the irrigation turned off and no access to the backyard. Interesting since he entered the backyard without our assistance. He also called us "bro" repeatedly and mumbled "Jesus Christ" whenever he was addressed. If I could leave zero stars I would. Not only was installation a horrible experience, I should have never used them for monthly maintenance. Today was the last straw when they failed to show up to the correct address yesterday (they showed me pictures of the guys waiting at the wrong address) for regular maintenance, I was told today by Nicole and Marc that they can come out tomorrow for an added $50 fee. They are completely unprofessional, Nicole never responds to texts or messages. Use another landscaping service! I am new to the Nevada real estate market, and had the opportunity to purchase a home in the Cadence Community in Henderson, Nevada. The community has a home-owners association (HOA) which was new to me. New homes in this community come with unfinished back yards, and it is the responsibility of the new home-owners to provide the HOA with a specific plan layout of the proposed landscaping. Additionally, the landscaping must be completed within a year of the house closing escrow. Once the plan is approved by the HOA, work may commence. Additionally, the HOA had some good advice in selecting a landscape company, for example: make sure the landscape company had a current business license, current liability and workers comp insurance, a surety bond, etc. I didn't know any one in the area other my real estate agent, who did a fantastic job for me, so I asked her. She referred me to Pacific Landscape. Pacific Landscape is a family owned business, Marc Emerson is the landscape design expert in the field, and Nicole Emerson (Marc's wife) is the back-office chief who makes the paperwork wheels roll. Together, they are an excellent team. We made an appointment with Marc at our home several days later. In between time, I made contact with Nicole, and found her pleasant, and easy to work with. I requested all of the documents that the HOA recommended, and received everything I requested on the same day. We met with Marc, and after much discussion, Marc developed a plan, estimate, and rendition drawing which was impressive. I have to say this, Marc is a very creative landscaper, and really listened to what we were looking for. After submission and approval of the plans by the HOA, Marc and his crew got to work. The job was completed in a couple of days, and it looks great!! Lastly, I found Pacific Landscaping a very capable organization, with a competent crew, who really know what they are doing. This company calls themselves professional but yet quite the opposite. They laid turf on my front yard and looked ok.. then year later we started to notice a leak under the turf from our irrigation system, when we told the company they said we were informed that the irrigation was going bad and we declined.. that was never brought up and when I asked to see where we declined then they said well we don't handle that. My problem is your a professional contractor that saw a bad irrigation system and laid turf on top of it. So when we asked to have them install a new irrigation which I'm willing to pay they wanna charge us 900 for irrigation which is fine but 2 grand to reinstall turf that they laid on a bad irrigation system knowingly and without telling us the customer. Nicole is nasty and mean and a liar as well. We had the contractor board come out and Nicole told lies to them as well. Company sucks stay away!!!!! read more

I hired Marc to completely renovate my backyard and transform it from a dust lot to a yard that my family could enjoy during this pandemic quarantine, which meant that a lot of work had to be done and although I anticipated a high price I was assured that the result would be top quality so I reluctantly moved forward. We agreed on a price around $23K with half the money paid in full in cash. I was given a two week timeline once construction began and for the most part it was upheld. However, my observation of the process led to several concerns. First, by no means did I expect Marc to be on hand throughout the entire process but I legitimately only saw him spend an extended period of time, an hour or so, once and when he was present he was hosing down dust. No problem, I'm sure I wasn't his only gig at the time but in my opinion the amount of work that was being done required a more hands on approach because had he been aware of what his outsourced crew was doing I believe we wouldn't of had any issues. Breaking up the concrete is grueling work and I witnessed the crew start sucking down brews early, like before noon and continue all day. It didn't dawn on me to inquire where they were relieving themselves until maybe the second day when I noticed much to my dismay that they had been pissing on my walls against the house! Unbelievable! So that was the first issue I had to address in the absence of supervision. Then, I'm pretty sure no one was licensed to operate the Bobcat, which was evident when while extracting the concrete the operator snapped my cable line costing me $200 to have Cox come out and reinstall. Also, because there was a lot of back and forth for the concrete removal from the backyard to the dumpster out front the gates were open and one of the workers had the audacity to not only allow passersby to trespass into the backyard to stand and inspect but gave a vagrant a couple of dollars panhandling! Damn near inviting every bum to come case the place! Unbelievable! I had to run them off with gun in hand! I have kids, 3 of them with one being a little girl. Next, we agreed upon a price after several rounds of back and forth negotiations so when Marc attempted to adjust the price to cover the cost of the dumpster I flat out denied him. A quote is a quote! You're the "professional" and should of been aware of x, y, & z so coming at me to cover cost that you should have been aware of was completely out of line. We negotiated a set price and if you didn't include the cost of debris removal than that's not my problem! Finally, and this is why I say and cannot be adamant enough about this, DO NOT HIRE PACIFIC LANDSCAPING because Marc is completely unwilling to be accountable for his outsourced crew. The jackhammer used to break up the concrete was electric as well as the saw used to cut the rebar and there IS ONLY ONE OUTLET IN THE BACKYARD and no, there was no generator on site ever! So later after the dust settled and I was arranging my new backyard I was drawn into the laundry room where the outlet was located to discover that they had unplugged my freezer and never plugged it back in. Never asked to use it, which is okay because work had to be done, but nonetheless never asked or even told me so I was completely unaware that my feezer had been powerless for who knows how long? Let me put this into context. It was a mid-sized freezer full to the brim before the pandemic for situations like what had occurred when the quarantine hit and food, meat, was scarce. Everything was lost including the freezer! Easily over $1K in food and the cost of replacing the unit. Everything! I emptied two (2) large trash bags of food with more at the bottom but could not proceed because the odor of rancid meat induced vomiting instantly! Marc left my house paid in full...$23K in cash in hand and when I confronted him about the freezer he said, "I checked with my guys and none of them did it"...UNBELIEVABLE! Than he had the nerve to put a lien on my house for even more money! STAY AWAY FROM PACIFIC LANDSCAPING!!! read more

I emailed Pacific Landscape based on the wonderful reviews I read on Yelp. I was looking for a company to redo the landscape of my backyard. I contacted via the website and Nicole answered back that evening (a Friday!) via text as I had requested in my website submission. I was immediately impressed. Let Nicole know what I was interested in, was advised - no problem, they would have to contract out a portion, but they could bid it. Marc came out Monday, on schedule, my husband was quite impressed, I did not get to meet him as I was working. When I got home, my husband said Marc was very professional and had told him the estimate would be emailed to me later that day. I did not receive an estimate, contacted Nicole the next day, she advised it would be by Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon - nothing. I reached out a couple more times via email, phone calls & texts, all without response. So, my experience, started out great, but went nowhere. I have had two amazing experiences with Mark, Nicole and Blake. The first job was a bamboo hedge at the back of my property with a paver stone border. The hedge looks super and most importantly, is thriving a year in. The second job was completed only a week ago and involved major landscaping to my backyard. Mark came several times to the property and never once grimaced when I wanted changes to the design. And he had his crew come early to demo several previously existing sago palms that I learned were poisonous to my new pup. That's just the kinda family that the Emersons are. This company is terrible, the owner Marc overcharged me for very simple landscaping job which was not done well. I thought it was a good deal (at first) and Marc seemed nice during the quote, but he was not even there when his workers were working on my yard leaving you to have to explain things to his employees (who barely speak English). At the time he did my backyard the owner Marc (when he actually got there) just seemed to be in a rush to get to other jobs done and he did not pay much attention to my own backyard which wasn't done very well and he wanted more money to fix it as Marc (himself) stated that it was not in the contract (I should never have paid his employees after he left and just settled the issue in court). His employees are nice but are working so fast under his command so get to the next house. This is the worst landscaping company in Las Vegas (which really overcharged me for a messy backyard landscaping job) and I advice people to look at other landscaping companies. read more
