We were on the hunt for two large Ficus Indian Laurel trees for the front yard of our new home. We were a bit sceptical of Moon Valley at first due to the reputation of being a high priced nursery. But when we compared trees at Moon Valley versus other tree nurseries, the saying of "You Get What You Pay For" is true at Moon Valley. Their trees were far superior to other local nurseries. And the help and guidance we received from our Landscape Designer, Jonnie Arold, was fantastic. Not only did she help us determine which 2 trees we should buy, Jonnie also came to the house to help determine the tree planting location, and then returned when the trees were planted! Picking out trees, planting trees, hauling trees, and manual labor involved all seem like quite a daunting task to take on for an acre citrus grove. Luckily we chose Moon Valley Nursery to do just that. The entire process was easy and extremely professional; we totally recommend! The sales team at Moon Valley Nursery came out to our property, told us what trees would thrive in our environment (we have hard ground that's challenging to grow on), and helped us decide just what we would enjoy as well as a few other items around our yard. Chelsea Rodriguez was the quality assurance manager in charge of the process and she scheduled and corresponded with us the entire time without any problems. This was a refreshing change from previous companies we have worked with. No flakiness here, just quality service. George was the foreman of the crew and he called to say he was coming, showed up on time and efficiently planted our new trees. Moon Valley Nurseries are a bit pricey, however I am a firm believer that with some things you get what you pay for. Our trees are high quality, the service is top notch, the people accommodating and friendly, and the overall experience flawless and easy. I scheduled a consultation with MVN on Jan 7, 2025. On my appointment day, I expected a consultant to arrive at my home in person to advise me about my landscaping needs. Instead, I got a call from Sophia, the GM, stating she would like to discuss my project over the phone. She told me to text her pics of my house, which I did, but she did not offer any suggestions. I suggested Bougainvillea plants, and we agreed on (4) plants for my front yard. She scheduled a delivery date for February 4th (I had to wait one month for four plants). On the delivery date, two men in a large MVN truck showed up with only (2) of the (4) plants I ordered, and they were TINY! I could have fit 20 of these tiny plants in my own car from Lowe's or Home Depot. I called Sophia to tell her we got the order wrong, and she realized she only billed me for two plants ($29.00 each) but charged me $249.99 for a delivery fee! Each plant also had a $30 charge for planting (but they were tiny, so they didn't need any digging). She said they have "a special soil treatment." She said I should have noticed the mistake on the invoice (which we never got!). She said I could order (again) the other two missing plants, but I would need to 1) pay more money for them and 2) wait more time for another delivery, so I declined. Finally, after back and forth, she agreed to reimburse me the $249.99 delivery fee (for these tiny plants) and said she would credit my credit card. I texted her to follow up when I didn't get the credit. She said she couldn't find my credit card and would issue a refund check instead. When I didn't hear from her or get a check, I texted her again, and she said, "I don't know, I can find out." I replied that I was glad I followed up. Otherwise, the refund would have been ignored. Finally, a week later, after another text from me to follow up, she told me a check would be mailed this Friday, or I could drive from Scottsdale to Arcadia to "Pick up a check." Since this is a customer service credit, a check should have been hand-delivered because we are still waiting for this reimbursement. Also, we went to Home Depot the next day and bought two more bigger and fuller Bougainvillea plants for less. The whole experience has been terrible and unfortunate because I relied on this business to help my home curb my appeal. Instead, we got two tiny plants and a headache. We cannot wait to get our $249.99 reimbursement check and breathe a sigh of relief that we are done with this situation. read more

We had purchased a warranty on the tree and when I contacted this location Savannah responded very quickly and efficiently got us scheduled asap for a full tree replacement. This review comes straight from my heart. Robert was my saving grace after Berridge Nursery gravely disappointed me. Rarely have I seen this level of eagerness to meet a customer's needs and take on my task with me. We worked through figuring out what plants to buy and how to plant them and it was fun! Robert was knowledgeable and made this process so much better than "the other place". Essentially, Berridge told me that helping figure out what to plant and how to do it would require design consultation, which is outside of what they do and I would need to pay them for that. (What the heck?!) I left "the other place" in tears as mine is a very low budget project for a charter school. I fell into the right hands with Robert. He gave me a cold bottle of water and showed real hospitality; I genuinely felt he cared about my project. This location didn't have all that I needed, but their other location on Tatum did. This used to be my go-to nursery and I don't know what happened recently but these prices are bananas. The good about this nursery is most plants are well organized and labeled clearly. But the prices aren't even remotely in line with other local nurseries. The totem pole here is $399.00, 50% off (normal price is apparently almost $800??). There's just no way. I thought I was dreaming. I went to Phoenix Desert Nursery right after this and a totem pole cactus, same size, just as nice as this one, was $100 regular price. The manager which is the women at this location ensured my dead plants were replaced with the correct type of plants at no additional Cost. We are continuing to receive excellent service and follow up from Moon Valley Nurseries after our initial big planting. Today we had a beautiful grapefruit tree added to the back yard. George and his crew did an excellent job of planting. They also followed up with a small shrub that hadn't done well by replacing it under their comprehensive extended warranty, no-questions-asked. The whole thing was coordinated by Chelsea in the office who arranged for the planting time, the replacement plant, and follow through afterwards to make sure everything went as planned. Great experience purchasing a couple of trees for our home in Scottsdale. Mandy was so knowledgeable and offered suggestions for what would work best in the spots in our yard. She showed photos and narrowed down the choices before we walked into the nursery. This was especially helpful with my elderly mother who has a hard time walking. I had a badly damaged, very large ficus tree in my small yard. John, the Moon Valley arborist, reassured me that the tree was OK but needed some major work. I asked him about an empty spot next to the house that didn't get much sun & he said he had the perfect, specific tree for that spot, a dwarf lemon tree. It took a while to get the work done but now I am so happy! My ficus us recovering and my lemon tree is adorable! Moon Valley is holding my hand while both trees recover. We purchased a tree for inside our home. After discussing the options numerous times with the manager and sales associates. The tree was delivered without the base to the planter ( which we paid for ). We had to wait for someone to bring it out. This tree took 5 men to bring into our brand new home. The base to the planter they gave us was completely defective. The tree was unable to survive indoors ( they should have known that ). We called to have the tree relocated to an outdoor space and lo and behold- our brand new flooring was destroyed by the faulty planter base. After contacting the company- they assured us we would hear back. No one ever called us. Weeks later of us following up- the manager ( Christine , I believe ) told us that it's not something they will address or remedy. I explained it was their product, their tree, their movers, etc. she basically said, " we have no intention of doing anything." I questioned how they can not take any responsibility and she became short. When I requested the info to their legal department she refused to give it to me and said, " Now that you brought up a lawsuit, I can no longer talk to you about this." I NEVER said that word. Considering they RECORD all calls- I can prove this happened. They will not stand behind their word. They don't have to. It's too large a company. Lesson learned. I'll never stop sharing this when the subject of landscaping arises in the future. New floors ruined over their incompetence and lack of accountability. read more
