WAITRESS COURTNEY SUCKED. We are a very easy and quiet family but she genuinely could not have been bothered to serve us. If you hate your job so much just quit. We waited probably 20 minutes for a milkshake that still didn't come until she was asked about it and food was out. When asked about it she was snappy and rude. Didn't come back to check on us, couldn't even smile or say hello. We asked for forks and she basically threw them into the basket. We asked to split our ticket and she said she couldn't because we were a party of 9 plus one baby. That's fine but she absolutely does not deserve $33 of auto gratuity when she is a horrible server. Not to mention she slammed our plates on the table when handing out food. I'm a server and she sucked, and as a customer she sucked. Our hotel had a lackluster breakfast available, so we came here. I am so glad we did! I cannot eat eggs because they aggravate my arthritis, so I always look for non-egg containing breakfast dishes. When I saw the Southwest cakes on the menu, the dish really appealed to me. They were corn pancakes with green chilies baked in them. Then they are covered with green chile and cream gravy. They come with two eggs and hashbrowns, and are incredibly good! My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, and I gave him the eggs which came with my corn cakes and I still had plenty of food. First experience was not good. The restaurant was freezing cold, so cold that it felt like they were keeping corpse in there. Steer clear from this restaurant! My girlfriend and I decided to test out this restaurant for the first time and we were beyond disappointed. Our server showed little to no courtesy and was extremely disrespectful while serving us. We had felt so unwelcome that we were ready to leave just from service alone. Then we had a chance to try the food. We ordered the chicken and waffles along with a bacon burger. Although the burger was decent, the chicken and waffles tasted beyond weird. The consistency of the syrup was like.. water. Very disturbing. I had the corned beef hash, and the corned beef seemed like it def came from a can and was an off brand. The hashed browns seemed like they came from a frozen bag. My scrambled eggs seemed like they came from a liquid carton, were poured into a skillet, and not moved a single time until they were plated (dry and flat). The epitome of diner food. Moonlight is a great stop if you're in the area. It's just a 10 minute drive from the airport and the portions are sure to fill you. For what a normal diner is, you can expect to have the same experience here. My party of 5 (myself included) arrived, ate and left - we did not take any food with us honestly - there were a lot of flies present within the building. So why 4 stars? Because our waitress was great and she did well for 1 of her and 5 of us. Telling her we were visiting from the east coast, she was able to give us a few things to do over our time in Colorado which were all mostly very helpful. Busy little diner. At least when we arrived for Breakfast on a Monday morning. Parking was somewhat limited but luckily found a spot as soon as we arrived. We were seated within 5 minutes of walking up to the counter. The menu was huge. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner (BBQ) and even liquor. Woah. I ordered breakfast and it was a lot. Was only able to finish about half of it before asking for a to-go box. It was decent. The coffee was not hitting the spot. Probably a 2 on a scale of 5. My son ordered the butter noodles and it was disgusting. That shouldn't be hard to mess up but it was. Service was great and they were quick. The views were awesome. I say the pancake was a surprise because my spot back home had these very thick yummy pancakes and this at a glance was thin so I judged it before I tasted. Glad I did, tasty even without syrup. Having only arrived in Denver 3days ago and having just started my search for my new spot, I may have found it first time out, thanks to the recommendation of my boyfriend. Janessa was my server both times I've been here, and she was friendly, engaging and kept my ice tea filled up, which is a must! Gentleman walking around, who is either the owner or manager, was also open and friendly and engaging. All things I look for. First yelp review here, and it's sad to say I felt the need to do this. We were excited to try this diner, especially with driving by and seeing the vintage look. We were a party of 11, and I did call prior asking about accommodations for our large party, as we were also celebrating a birthday party. Melissa was our server, and we were shocked by the manor of her service. Understand we are "out of stater's" and were informed vertical ID's were not accepted. Understandable! Those that did not have a vertical ID ordered a beer. We believe she either served non-alcoholic beer, or incredibly flat beer. Regardless, in due fashion of her service and annoyance, we elected to search for a different place to go to, as we were excited about the birthday party and she seemed unpleased with the size of her party. When we told her were just there for the pop,waters, and a few beers amongst our party, she was annoyed and said under her voice as she was leaving our table "then just get the f*** out of here". When we respectfully asked for our checks, and separate checks, she told us no, and that it would all have to be on one. One of the drinks had floating material in it, so we had asked for her to remove it from the check, of which she looked at it and saw what we were seeing. But then, stated "yes, but I'm not removing that from the check". She in fact did, but was not happy with us. We arrived a little before prime lunch time but there were still some parking spots available. We took that as a good sign! I thought this would be a fun diner for a late dinner. A couple of us ordered salads and the verdict was they were just ok. Hubby and a friend had sandwiches and they deemed them just ok as well. The full bar attached to the diner was empty and not being used while we were there.
