This is where you wait. And wait. And wait. And wait.
    Scott K.

I've gotta concur with the other low rating. Service was a nightmare! From the get go, we saw it coming and should have gone across the street. We got there at 5:25 for our 5:30 reservation. We were a party of 9 even though the hostess kept insisting we were a party of 7 (other hostess confirmed it as 9 on the screen). 4 of our 9 people were there, we were told they would not seat us until the full party was there. The other 5 people came right at 5:30 then we waited. And waited. And waited. For 27 more minutes!! They told us at least three times that they were clearing our table. We felt like that Seinfeld episode watching party after party yet seated before us!! The shorter female hostess became straight rude after the third time in that 27 minutes we asked how much longer (she really should not be in a customer facing role IMO) Once we got to our table, things didn't get better. 10 minutes to take our drink orders, 10 more for them to be delivered, the few alcoholic drinks took even longer. They eventually took our orders for meat and sides limiting us to 3 only meats on the table at a time (other Korean BBQs have allowed each person at the table to order a meat). The sides "for the table" came out just as slowly and in single serving portions. We didn't get the white rice we requested until almost the end of the meal. Pile on top of that the number of things they were out of--no bulgogi beef, no miso soup, no cheese corn, no miso chicken, no bulgogi pork, no soft tofu soup. How can you even be a Korean restaurant without anything bulgogi? It was our observation that there was a significant lack of waitstaff. This is a high touch type business and they were running it with what looked like a skeleton crew. Many times we had to flag down a server either to ask for more of something or inquire about what we'd already ordered. We felt unimportant and unseen as we watched other tables get what looked like a higher level of service. There was apparent frustration in our servers over the time the "kitchen" was taking but even the things under their control (like drinks and bussing empty plates) took far too long. Fortunately, they did not enforce their 90 minute time limit that was so prominently posted on their menu! I've never seen such a thing! To their credit, our servers were not unpleasant or unkind nor were we unkind to them but we did express our frustrations to them more than once. While everything food wise (that was available) was extremely delicious, the poor, slow service, onerous rules, and disgusting bathroom condition made this a one and done experience for us.

So much going on, but every bite was delicious!

We have been in 2 more times, bringing friends along each time and they have not been disappointed. So much great food to choose from! The flavors and spices are really great!

Our new favorite restaurant in the area. Food and service are top notch! Super tasty.

We gave Seng's a try after seeing their restaurant on social media platforms. Great experience, really good food and the staff was attentive and friendly Thank You for bringing this restaurant to Spokane

Spokane FINALLY has a Korean Bbq spot!! We are from California and have been craving a kbbq spot since we moved to spokane and in comes Sengs! They've done a beautiful job of renovating the old restaurant to convert for this and it's great! Great staff! Great quality meat, our favorite was the teriyaki beef belly! Stoked to support a new locally owned business and will be back regularly!

Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was awesome! Korean BBQ is my favorite. Restaurant was clean and not Smokey or greasy. Good selection of meats. Kalbi, beef tongue and beef brisket was excellent!!

Wonderful waitress, truly made the experience better. The food was great! Wonderfully fresh, and staff was attentive without being invasive. Great place for romantic/date or Business meal. Great for bringing Visiting family. Allows customization for each person's tastes. Fun experience

Our first visit went really well. We were seated very promptly even arriving 15 minutes before our reservation. We went for a Friday evening dinner and there were definitely a lot of staff that were constantly checking in on us. We never really had to wait on food or drink drinks which seems like they are taking the feedback from customers very seriously. The owner came and chatted with us for a bit, which was great. All of the food was really tasty especially some of the premium cuts. Some of the marinated meats were a little salty, but still nothing to complain about. The value for the price is really phenomenal for my perspective. I hope this place makes it in the long run!

Nice restaurant, nice atmosphere, very pricy for the quality and could definitely use more variety in the sauce department

On the other hand, the teriyaki beef belly was excellent and actually reminded me more of traditional bulgogi.

Food-"I only waited 5 minutes" for my meal! "It was already prepared"! And it showed. The owner suggested the pork bellies as apposed to the plain pork, because he said they have more flavor. The meat had very little flavor!, and the meat was tuff. It was stale. The sauce over powered the flavor of the meat. Lots and lots of sauce!! I'm sorry to be so blunt but, the kimchi was bad. There were 4 or 5 kinds. I've had good Korean food in California. -Not trying to be a snob-, but jeeez. You expect kimchi to be spicy...some flavor, at the very least. You call what I ate Bulgogi! I didn't know they made it with pork. So I tried it; mistake. I could have had a feast a Taco Bell for that price lol. Didn't give one star because the guy was really nice. I had to give this review "to be honest". You guys are a business. Each customer should be just important as the next. I may have gotten a bad meal. Maybe not all are like that. But I'm saying, you can't expect to serve "ready made meals" that have allegedly been sitting for hours in the pot. Then expect your customers to pay full price. When I pay restaurant prices, I expect for a restaurant to cook up the meal, not to be a fast food experience. I paid almost $25 for that meal and it was no more than a fast food entrée. And it was stale.

The bench seating was kind of fun for my larger group of about 7-8 people, though it didn't make it any easier to talk to everyone, only those nearest to me.

I thought it funny that the name of the shop sounded like it was either calling attention to or poking fun at the southeast Asian pronunciation of the word noodle, but the pictures were undeniable! So in just minutes from the Davenport Hotel, we walk thru the doors. I was very impressed with the modern art aesthetic that adorn the surrounding walls of the dining area. Pop art is a very common look at more modern ramen places so I was feeling very comfortable and confident that we'd come to the right place. The staff was friendly and amazing from the get go and all throughout! Starving, we sat down and our eyes tore through the menu with excitement. Most satisfyingly was the fact that we'd come at happy hour and ramen bowls were $10 each! Now as a ramen goer, I will always go to TanTan if it's on the menu and it was! My mind was made. My other two friends ordered the Spicy beef in a shoyu broth and a spicy Tonkotsu (both looked amazing)! We also ordered appetizers from the happy hour menu: Salt and Pepper Tofu and the Spicy Pork Wontons! Both of those were HIGHLY RECOMMENDs, but if you're sharing the Tofu goes much farther with the wontons only having 3 pieces but AMAZING flavor (PRO TIP: you can also use the left over sauce to experiment with other tastes later in your meal). Once the appetizers hit the table it was gone! Hence the no pictures, for which I greatly apologize. I've failed you again, my Yelp family. But please know it was because I'm a fat ass and couldn't hold back my hunger. But finally, the main courses came out. My mind clear from the nourishments of the appetizers, I was able to snap a picture of. Maybe not as much of a, "my mind was clear" as it was a, "Carrots and corn in my ramen? YUCK!" Now I get the corn. In Hokkaido style they like to put sweet corn on the surface and slap some butter on it, and THAT I always have time for. But corn?? In my opinion, there's no place for carrots in ramen because the sweetness will always off balance the taste. Especially in a pork bone broth, but definitely not invited to my TanTan party, but I digress. Being the huge lover that I am of food and adventure, I thought I'd give it a try. But from the first bite, I realized that I was right about the flavor, forgot about the texture and was surprised to find Chicken in my ramen. No ohana... ramen is one of my favorite things EVER! Growing up in my life we'd eat dry bags of Maruchan/Top Ramen with the seasoning in it for fun, as kids. You know which one flavor I NEVER ate? CHICKEN! It just never hit to me. And here, betraying me in my coveted TanTan was chicken! Besides all of these things, my ramen was slightly hotter than warm. I grew up eating traditional style ramen, where you had to want it! Meaning the broth would undoubtedly burn your lips but you HAD TO WANT IT fresh or you'd miss out on what good ramen was. So disappointedly, I rested my chopsticks across the brim of the bowl in defeat and pulled the menu back. Meanwhile, from across the table I hear the satisfying sounds of slurps and bowls being picked up and set down on the table. So I ask how their food was. Both were very happy and both did look good, but I needed something that wouldn't miss this time. So with that in mind, I asked for the Spicy ramen! But this time I made a few adjustments. Audibles if you will (heck, it's football season). I asked for no carrots and no corn (of which she whiffed on the no corn, but thankfully there were no carrots) and almost MOST importantly: I asked for the noodles to be half cooked! My waitress, who: LET ME JUST STOP HERE AND GIVE HER THE FLOWERS SHE DESERVES! I feel bad that I don't remember her name or who don't have a picture with her but I was there during happy hour on the 7th of September (Monday) and she looked like she could have been the daughter part of a mother/daughter duo that was working the dining area! I appreciate you! NOW BACK TO THE FOOD! So my order again: Spicy Beef Ramen, no corn or carrots with the noodles half cooked! And the next bowl that was set in front of me redeemed the entire food experience. My ramen was piping hot and perfect. Sizable chunks of well cooked beef, dressing the landscape of my bowl like mountains on a map. Just beautiful. I couldn't wait to dive in. And from the first bite, it was redemption! The beef was so soft! It had a rich flavor that made me check it to see if they maybe upgraded me to ox tail. They hadn't, but it was definitely an upgrade from that shredded chicken fiasco I'd just come away from. The spice level was perfect. And the temperature of the soup melted all of the natural juices and oils of all the ingredients into the broth. Exactly like it's supposed to do!
