I had been carrying my vehicles to a so called reputable place in Cartersville for years and the prices and service had gotten terrible. Prices high, service low. I carried my wife's vehicle in for an issue with alternator after getting all kinds of different opinions from the so called reputable place. I dropped it off and had my wife bring me back home. I got a call in about 1 hour telling me her vehicle was ready and when they gave me the price, I was more than excited, It was very reasonable! I carried my neighbors truck to them after the so called reputable place kept it for two weeks and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it and why it wouldnt start. On vacation from Texas and transmission went out for the fourth time from rebuilds in Texas. Same…read moreproblem, forward clutch pack failed...again. Had truck towed to Quality Transmissions. Met Richard, the owner, and he have me a tour of his shop. Most transmission shops are parts replacers and their diagnostic tools are a visual inspection. Richard has the equipment to completely rebuild valve bodies to make them as good as new. Richard rebuilt my valve body (big part of my trannys problem). He also said the forward clutch pack was built with inadequate clearance and there were parts missing from the overdrive section. Richard kept me informed of the progress throughout the rebuild and the final price was cheaper than he quoated when you factor in the upgraded torque converter I requested. Have about 500 miles on rebuild, 300 of which is pulling a 10k 5th wheel. Three year warranty too. Take it to Quality to get a high quality rebuild at a very reasonable price. Thanks, Dale

They stated multiple times over the years that their "classic car guy" was an expert and could handle a classic car. For the first 5 years of living in atlanta, I took my classic mercedes here until they finally told me their classic car guy was leaving and they wouldn't touch my car going forward. Frankly, they did 5 years of changing my oil and nothing else but they'd charge me for what they called "regular maintenance". Regular maintenance on a classic car should include a lot more than just topping up the oil and calling it a day, but every time I'd mention knocking noises or brake issues or anything else to them, they wouldn't address it at all so I had no idea if they thought it was an issue or didn't. Finally 5 years later, thank god their classic car guy left, because I took it over to a place in Decatur and all of the things I had been worried about, they found a reason, they gave me a full breakdown online of what they recommended and why, they answered all of my questions, and I could pay the invoice online and feel good about it. Update: As of 9:30 p.m., Jacob, the owner, repeatedly called and texted me after my review. He first falsely claimed I'd only visited once four years ago, then offered to pay me, which I refused. After that, he pulled up what he claimed were years of invoices that were not real, despite the fact that I have the original receipts for my own transactions. Even after I repeatedly told him to stop contacting me, he continued until I had to block his number. Based on both my experience and his behavior afterward, I would never recommend this business.

I looked up to find out more about my van, and after talking to a friend about it he suggested taking it to Landmark in Roswell, (even though I live opposite side of town) and he would talk with them. My friend had 3 vehicles that he sent to Landmark and was happy with them. My Toyota van was drivable so I left it on a Sunday (they have a drop box for keys) and spoke with Dennis on Monday As it turned out, I had a seal that was leaking and did not need a new transmission as mine was sound. Seems the AAmco chains are prone to upcharge a lot (especially if one is a woman) but Landmark fixed the problem within 2 days. I am very happy with Landmark and Dennis and would recommend them if one has a problem with their trans. He is patient with people asking questions and is not condescending as some techs can be. Price is in line with the work and one does not feel they have been overcharged. Ammaco it seems does not have a good reputation going by what I have found out online. Mechanical repairs because of the what is in cars/vans/trucks is more complicated nowadays so it is a benefit when one can find a shop that is overall customer friendly.
