Unbeknownst to me I had a transmission problem, took it to AAmco left it, and was told after they diagnosed that not only was the transmission fluid black it was also burnt and needed a new transmission. I looked up to find out more about my van, and after talking to a friend about it he suggested taking it to Landmark in Roswell, (even though I live opposite side of town) and he would talk with them. My friend had 3 vehicles that he sent to Landmark and was happy with them. My Toyota van was drivable so I left it on a Sunday (they have a drop box for keys) and spoke with Dennis on Monday As it turned out, I had a seal that was leaking and did not need a new transmission as mine was sound. Seems the AAmco chains are prone to upcharge a lot (especially if one is a woman) but Landmark fixed the problem within 2 days. I am very happy with Landmark and Dennis and would recommend them if one has a problem with their trans. He is patient with people asking questions and is not condescending as some techs can be. Price is in line with the work and one does not feel they have been overcharged. Ammaco it seems does not have a good reputation going by what I have found out online. Mechanical repairs because of the what is in cars/vans/trucks is more complicated nowadays so it is a benefit when one can find a shop that is overall customer friendly. read more

I highly recommend Landmark if you have a transmission problem. My car's transmission gave out in Alabama and I had it towed to Nalley Acura. Nalley lowballed me on the car and highballed me on getting the transmission repaired, and in generally treated me as an afterthought. I called around and was directed to Landmark. James and Daniel worked with me on getting the transmission repaired, priced the work and warranty at a level that fit my budget, and were up-front and responsive to any questions I had. Was able to get the car fixed and sold at 4x what Nalley was offering me, even accounting for my additional costs of the repair. I hope I'll never have to visit Landmark again because my car broke down in Alabama, in the rain, downhill both ways. What an amazing place to work with! Called about replacing our 2013 Nissan Pathfinder transmission and talked with Dennis a week before - he quoted a price that I then confirmed with other calls to other locations that his quote was the lowest. He also quoted a time frame (one week - in Monday out Friday) that was the quickest. We went with them and THEY MET EVERY AMOUNT and DEADLINE they quoted. They fixed an extra problem no charge that they found while they were working on our Nissan Pathfinder transmission. They accidently nicked our bumper the day we picked it up and they immediately called for anew one, had it painted to match and put it on the next week. USE THIS SHOP - they were great. Once again, Landmark Transmissions served me with class, skill and a strong sense of how to exceed customers expectations. When replacing a leaking clutch master cylinder, they cracked one of the side-screens. They immediately told me about it, and that they had ordered a new pair (they only come in pairs!) I now have two new side-screens at their expense. Also, while they were working on the clutch master cylinder, they adjusted the clutch, improving its action significantly, and stopped a slow engine oil leak from the rocker box gaskets. I did not ask them to do this, they just did because they take care of their customers. My strongest recommendation for Landmark - once again! read more

Getting a transmission rebuilt is right up there with replacing a water heater or having your HVAC die. You get no pleasure out of any of these and it's super stressful at the same time. Anyways I digress. Our 2016 Tahoe had the transmission go out and we took it to Landmark after literally reading every review. James and Michele were such a pleasure to work with. The quote for the rebuild came in lower than two other places which was great because my car was already there. James and his team finished on time and charged me $700 less than the quote. I was floored. He could have easily charged me the original quote and I wouldn't have second guessed it. But he didn't and that shows a ton of integrity. Additionally and get this-for a brief moment we thought about trading our car in and not only did Michelle offer great advice, she let a dealer come to Landmark and look at the car! Who does that these days. I will tell you who: Michelle. Anyways the car is back to normal and has a two year unlimited mileage warranty on the repair job. My 2008 Sequoia was shuttering around 45MpH so I had the dealer look at it along with another auto shop and they wanted to replace the entire Trans for $7k+. I recently changed the ATF fluid and still had this shutter so worked with Dennis at Landmark & his rebuild cost with all new parts with my case was much less and after taking it up there and them Test driving it, they diagnosed it correctly, the driveshaft bearings which they rebuilt for a super reasonable cost and drives so tight now. Landmark is the place to take your vehicle if you are experiencing transmission problems. For sure. I don't post reviews because I am usually let down at some point after having a great experience wherever I might be. This is what makes them awesome..... I will start by saying that it's probably not going to be the cheapest place to get the work done unless you take your car in for what you'd expect to be a rebuild or replacement only to find out it's a parts or fluid issue and in that case it'll definitely be a nice surprise. The cool thing about landmark is that if it is an issue like that they will actually tell you about it instead of selling you a rebuilt or replacement that you don't need which most places will do. If it needs it then that's what they're going to recommend but if it doesn't they are honest enough to let you know what the fix is regardless of the price or how much money they're going to make. So when it comes to their work, they are great at it. They replaced the transmission in my 05 duramax which has an Allison transmission and they did a great job. This is the best thing about them though.....I had what I thought was an issue with it after I got it back. I called them and they had a wrecker pick it up and took it to their shop. Ended up not being anything but better safer than sorry. Picked it up and it's been fine ever since. Until a week or so ago and it wouldn't go into reverse. Called them up, it's out of warranty, but I had to get it checked out so they sent a wrecker. It was a minor situation that was nobody's fault but they fixed it and just asked if I would pay the tow bill. NO PROBLEM!! I couldn't get my card out fast enough. So, I'll say it again. These guys (and gal) are great at what they do. I recommend to anybody I know who has an issue to go to them. I recommend it to y'all reading this as well. read more

After a LOT of research, I chose Landmark Transmission Center to work on my 1972 Ford Bronco. I wanted to have the transmission and transfer case rebuilt, and new gears and carrier put in the front differential. James and the rest of the Landmark Team did an excellent job on my truck. I took my 2005 Camry to Landmark for a new clutch after the Toyota Dealership claimed I needed a new one, charged me for a diagnostic test and then said it would be over $2400! I drive a stick shift for this very reason! Not to have expensive transmission repairs. I found Landmark on Yelp and saw all of the positive reviews. I called immediately and spoke with the Harry and met with Michele the following week. Landmark installed a new CVT transmission in my Pathfinder in late-March/early-April of 2021 and a week later, everything seems to be running just fine. They also replaced some transmission & motor mounts and a torn air intake hose up top - all of which were quite necessary and I got to see the old worn parts for myself. Needless to say, not a cheap date, but they went out of their way to minimize the cost where they could. So far, I have no reason to believe that I got anything less than a first-rate repair and also got a brief lesson on a CVT from the mechanic who showed me my old transmission and the inside of another CVT - really interesting. read more

I have dealt with this business before when they were a Mr. Transmission, and I am glad they are still around. Only thing different is the name. If you take a transmission problem to just about any other shop (other than actual trans specialty shops ie: aamco) they will probably tell you to take it directly to Landmark because they are just going sub the work the work to Landmark anyway. Went there because my warm weather jeep from Florida was beginning to shift slowly and also started leaking fluid. I took it to a few different places all of which said it needed a rebuild. Took it over to Landmark and Tim and crew went to work to find the problem. Found fluid to be low and a few lose bolts around the pan which had a minimal cost of $95 which is a far cry from the 1300 plus that I have been quoted from other places. Trust this shop! I can not say enough great things about this business and the people. The way my car was acting, (Honda Accord CVT) there was no way you couldn't tell me it wasn't the transmission. Michelle (manager) and her husband took the time to really investigate what the issue was. They were not completely convinced I needed a new transmission. She asked to keep the car another day so they could get into the nitty-gritty of the engine and transmission. In the end they found an obscure sensor that needed replacing. Bam! Problem solved. Very honest and helpful people. Went to Pep Boys first, where I was told that the code for check engine light that came on in my Hyundai meant I had transmission issues. I am visiting Atlanta, and planned to drive back to Florida today. Explained all that to Michelle, the manager, and the guys here. They prepared me for the worst (time and $$), but then reset the code, checked out the code, alerted me to a Service Alert put out by Hyundai, advised me how to make a claim with Hyundai and cleared me to go and drive to Florida. They charged me NOTHING, and I had my morning coffee in the waiting room! Dealing with car issues is always at least a little anxiety-producing for me, but Landmark made it easy. I own a 1992 Mazda Miata which has become a family member. Recently at 133k miles the transmission quit. Knowing that rebuilding a rare Miata automatic transmission is a challenge for any expert, I researched and talked to different mechanics. Eventually decided to trust my car to Robert's.
