Working in the trades, I travel a lot and tend to spend a week or two in hotels when I do. For this stop I was visiting my union local and this hotel was closest to the hall. The Quality inn definitely is one of best hotels I have stayed in. King sized bed. That was actually Comfy and easy to sleep on. And the pillows were good too. The tv had great definition and a premium selection of channels to select. The breakfast served in the morning had great portions and definitely fueled me through the day. It was a secure building and the parking lot didn't have that aura that you could be stabbed in it like some of the other places I have stayed. I look forward to staying here any time I have to go to Spokane.

Complimentary breakfast.

Yesterday was our second time staying here and it was just as good of a stay as our last. Upon arrival, the check-in process was very fast! I had booked our room online last October immediately after purchasing tickets for a concert that was going to be in the area. The friendly girl at the front desk let us check in at 2:00 PM, which is two hours earlier than the normal check in time. Our room was clean and included a mini Keurig coffeemaker, a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, and a spacious refrigerator. About an hour before we were to leave for the concert, my husband went to take a shower and found the shower knob was broken and would not turn on. He called the front desk and they said they would send the maintenance worker right up. Within a few minutes, he was at our door and had the shower fixed in under 10 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised that it was fixed so quickly. The maintenance man was very friendly and apologized to us both for the inconvenience. I did not utilize the pool or hot tub, however my husband and kids did and said it was fully stocked with towels. Our main reason for choosing to stay here this time was because of the pool hours. It is open 24 hours and you cannot say that about many other hotels. The complimentary breakfast was very good and had quite a bit of different options to choose. The dining area is very large. The staff do a great job of constantly checking to make sure it is clean. We love this place! It's an inexpensive stay and the rooms are quiet and clean. Every staff member we've come across is both friendly and helpful. I 100% recommend Quality Inn Oakwood.

Angry, vindictive, mean, nasty, and incompetent describe this woman, from our experience and opinion.

This would be a 5/5 had it not been for an experience with "Karlene" at the front counter. We went to check in with two rooms. Somehow, unbeknownst to us, four rooms were booked. We believe the hotel made an error, or it could have been our travel department booking (they've never made an error before). Karlene informed us that regardless, we were paying for four rooms although we'd only booked and needed two. We also had a conference room and catering booked with the hotel. Kari, who manages the conference and events, is effing INCREDIBLE and wonderful to work with. She was creative, adaptive, and kind. Back to Karlene; I asked her for the names assigned to the other two "booked rooms." She tells us that for privacy reasons, she cannot give us the names. The owner of the company then said "It's my credit card, and my company, and my employees. I'm not paying for rooms when you can't tell me the names they're booked under." She was very snotty and aggressive in her reply, so I asked her "Are you trying to get us to cancel our rooms and remove our event, and take our attendees with us (several of our attendees were staying in the hotel). Unbelievably, she replied "Yes. Please just leave and never come back. I don't want to do business with you at all. Either way, you're paying for four rooms because we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Let's be real here; how can we cancel rooms we don't know are reserved? And if you can't give us the names of our employees who allegedly have rooms, how are we to discover where the error was made? Karlene told us to "screw off; I'm done helping you. I've got a baby at home and pregnant (and then stepped back away from the counter so we could see she was pregnant), and i'm not going to get myself fired by breaking the rules just for jerks like you." I stepped back and snapped her photo so I could remember her name easily. She FLIPPED OUT. She began screaming I'd violated her privacy and the law. "I'm calling the police right effing now" and other choice comments. I explained that it's not illegal to take a photo of anyone in a public space, and she yelled some nonsense. She left. No police showed up, much to our disappointment. To be clear, it is never illegal to photograph anything or any person in a public space (like a hotel lobby). It may be rude, and even uncalled for, but not illegal. https://www.acludc.org/en/know-your-rights/know-your-rights-if-stopped-photographing-public The other woman behind the counter said she'd check us in. I asked her for the names of the other rooms, and she indicated she couldn't tell us. I asked her if I could play 20 questions with her, and she did sort of agree. Turns out they had one of the rooms booked in my initials, not my name. Further, although Karlene insisted we had four rooms booked, it was only three rooms, and because the extra room was in my initials, the other woman was able to manage the problem. She was kind, although flustered after the mess with her co-worker. It was an hour-long frustration, trying to figure out the BS Karlene had yelled at us about. The next day, we explained the problem to Kari (events manager) and she cleared everything up. We also discovered that Karlene had canceled our rooms for the second night we were booked to stay. Kari cleared that up too. The rooms are decent, the breakfast average for a mid-budget hotel, but the area is sketch, and the experience with Karlene really set a bad tone for our conference and event. Truly, we at the least, expected a visit from the hotel manager to apologize for how nuts and nasty Karlene had been. We heard from three other hotel employees that "Karlene has been a problem ever since she became pregnant." Yeah...that's the understatement of the week. We won't be back. Kari was great, but when we needed to park our equipment trailer, we were told by a different worker, we couldn't park it anywhere near the building (even though there were several trailers and heavy equipment trucks in the parking lot). We ended up parking in the tire store lot for the night, dropping our trailer at 10 pm and retrieving it at 8 am. The tire store guys were great.

20 people in dining room

My daughters are not able to swim because they only allow 5 in the pool max. No exceptions but they let 20 in the dining room bummer about the flexible policy on booking the pool only reason we stayed was pool for kids

Staff here is amazing. Parking is free and very convenient. Pool and fitness center are open 24 hours a day. Prices are very competitive for the area. Location is very good, as it's close to lots of shopping and restaurants. I stayed in the Oakwood Suite and was pleasantly surprised the with amenities and quality of the room. The front desk staff was also fabulous and went way above and beyond to assist me with changing my reservation due to an error on my end. I will absolutely stay here every time I'm near Spokane from now on.

Like a King!

We were charged 3 times for our hotel room. Little frustrating because of course to reverse charges took a week.

We stayed on the top floor facing north with a view below of the First Interstate Center which is a short journey using the covered skywalk. It wasn't busy at this time in early February and the common areas were quiet, though we've been there during New Year's Eve when it's pretty bustling. We usually book the Penthouse King Suite with fireplace, which is as spacious as a small apartment with 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette/bar area with mini fridge. Rooms have always been spotless. The bed is super comfortable. Robes are provided as well as extra blankets. We always bring our own Firestick with us when we travel, but we've noticed in every room that we've ever stayed at here that the TV input is not able to be changed to accommodate plugging into the HDMI port. Table 13 restaurant was closed for renovations, but the dining lounge was open and we get consistently good service and food at a reasonable price there. Room service breakfast for two cost about $70 (including service fee and tip) for a full breakfast entree, a fruit plate, and a kid's plate of pancakes. I wish that parking was more economical. At $28 per night, it's a bit steep. For comparison, we stayed the next night at the nearby Montvale Hotel where parking is $10 in their lot. Overall a very nice hotel and conveniently located in downtown Spokane.

Located on the south side of the river and what appears to be the heart of downtown, it was relatively easy to get to, and literally across the street from where we were seeing a show. The place is really large with something like 14 or 15 levels, and a room that we very much enjoyed! The beds were large, the mattresses were really nice and the view was lovely! The shower was also quite solid. It was one that did not have a door, but was fashioned such that you didn't get water all over the bathroom floor. It also had one of the best showerheads we've ever experienced! It was like getting sprayed off with a warm hose. It was a bummer that they didn't have a pool and hot tub here, but the workout facilities were really nice, and if you are looking for a pool, staying here, you get access to the pool and hot tub at the sister hotel downtown. We didn't make use of it, but it's a nice offer. We were about five minutes from downtown, and walked to a couple of restaurants for both dinner and breakfast. Parking was easy with an option for self parking or valet. The parking garage was connected to the building, and overall made things very easy. I really went back-and-forth between a four and five on this property, but overall it was a really nice spot with nice amenities and the pool was really the only thing that was lacking. It gets the five star bump!

It's easy to get to but there are pros and cons to that - as it's in a very popular area, with a college nearby, tons of restaurants with zero tables (all reserved, even in the middle of the week), and just a medium walk to the big Riverside mall and the famous Spokane falls, not to mention an events center where, apparently, a major concert was happening on the night of our stay (thus the sold out-ed-ness of everything, I guess?). Bummer about the crowdedness and the busyness. Very cool about the gorgeous hotel, the premium lobby with the most delicious lemonade water we have ever had, and free cookies, the comfy room with a sliding door onto the grass so we could easily walk the dog. It was very modernly updated (compared to the more…read morevintage character of other rooms in this hotel), with exposed ceiling beams and what appeared to be original brick walls, located in a newer wing near the side of the building where Ella's Supper Club used to be. We heard rumors about this being one of Spokane's most haunted hotels and I can see how one might get a vibe that there's presence in the hotel. It was built in 1899, was abandoned for decades, and renovated. They did a beautiful job keeping up the historic aspects of the furnishings, and even the music in the halls was a little spooky. But rest assured, there were no spirits haunting our unit! Our room was adjacent to the Events Center and the building is structured such that we didn't hear the noise from the event going on at the time unless we put our ear to their door down the hall. It is easy to get lost because our room was in the 300's numbers but on the second floor, while other rooms in the 300's are on the third floor. There are two sets of elevators that take you to different parts of the connected buildings. If you're looking for the fitness center in the basement, don't use the elevator from the lobby or that will put you into the restaurant below. The amenities were great. It was like an entire apartment with a full kitchen and all the kitchenware to make it feel like home, plus it had a walk-in pantry. There was a big screen TV in every room and it was easy to hook up our own Firestick. I wished it had a second bathroom, and more hangers, as it does accommodate 4 people. The shower could use a shelf -- you have to put your bath toiletries on the floor of the shower. Bath robes and decor throughout made it cozy. The water vapor electric fireplace was a nice touch in the living room and we had a north facing view of the city surroundings. There was a dedicated room for washer and dryer, and they provide the detergents. The parking lot is small (about 15 spaces), and there's an overflow lot further away. There are several entry/exit doors on both First Av and Monroe St so that's a little confusing, but load in at the front entrance. It's conveniently located near the Fox and Bing theaters and several dining options. Our stay included free breakfast at Rosie's Restaurant. Overall a very nice stay!
