This is my second time staying here as I come for work. I really enjoy it; the hotel has parking, but fills up fast, a work out room, pool and breakfast in the morning! The location seems pretty centralized with lots of restaurants and other stores nearby. Seems like clean hotel, room was nice, and clean too. Everything was great! They let us check in very early and the pool is 24 hours. Pool was warm and hot tub was nice. Beds were comfy and room was nice. In town for a Hockey Tournament and the Location, Cost and Service were great. We used the Quality Inn Oakwood for our base. Close to Eagles Ice Arena and easy to get to. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby for everyone tastes. Marijane at the front desk was on duty in the evening. Our kids were able to quietly stay together off the lobby prior to bed. There was an issue with an unrelated to us guest that she handled so well and took the appropriate steps to calm the guests that they had been bothering. We were on the first floor, our room was clean and everything looked new. They are doing some remodeling but experienced no noise from that and the property looked great. Parking might be the only minor draw back as it can get full. There was always space but might have to go around the building. The breakfast was good and our team ate like champs. There was an attendant keeping it stocked. Pool was warm and clean and hot tub was great for adults. This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations and would stay here again without reservation, but make reservations for your stay read more

Quality Inn Oakwood hosted my dad while his apartment was being treated, and the staff could not have been more kind. He's elderly and disabled, and the team went out of their way to be accommodating--kind words, real empathy, and quick help whenever we asked. It never felt transactional; it felt like they were looking out for him. The hotel itself is extremely clean and clearly well cared for. His room was fresh and quiet, and there were plenty of amenities and thoughtful extras that made the stay easy and comfortable. I've stayed at high-end properties that didn't match this level of service. If you need a spotless, comfortable hotel with exceptional people, choose this one. There is nothing wrong with the facility, everything is as expected. Now the only reason for lowering the rating is because of the lady at the front checking is in, she was rude and she was rude again when i had to ask for room service the day after. Again the hotel is just fine but with some old grumpy rude lady at the front desk it just ruins everything, we won't be back. read more

Working in the trades, I travel a lot and tend to spend a week or two in hotels when I do. For this stop I was visiting my union local and this hotel was closest to the hall. The Quality inn definitely is one of best hotels I have stayed in. King sized bed. That was actually Comfy and easy to sleep on. And the pillows were good too. The tv had great definition and a premium selection of channels to select. The breakfast served in the morning had great portions and definitely fueled me through the day. It was a secure building and the parking lot didn't have that aura that you could be stabbed in it like some of the other places I have stayed. I look forward to staying here any time I have to go to Spokane. read more

Yesterday was our second time staying here and it was just as good of a stay as our last. Upon arrival, the check-in process was very fast! I had booked our room online last October immediately after purchasing tickets for a concert that was going to be in the area. The friendly girl at the front desk let us check in at 2:00 PM, which is two hours earlier than the normal check in time. Our room was clean and included a mini Keurig coffeemaker, a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, and a spacious refrigerator. About an hour before we were to leave for the concert, my husband went to take a shower and found the shower knob was broken and would not turn on. He called the front desk and they said they would send the maintenance worker right up. Within a few minutes, he was at our door and had the shower fixed in under 10 minutes. We were pleasantly surprised that it was fixed so quickly. The maintenance man was very friendly and apologized to us both for the inconvenience. I did not utilize the pool or hot tub, however my husband and kids did and said it was fully stocked with towels. Our main reason for choosing to stay here this time was because of the pool hours. It is open 24 hours and you cannot say that about many other hotels. The complimentary breakfast was very good and had quite a bit of different options to choose. The dining area is very large. The staff do a great job of constantly checking to make sure it is clean. We love this place! It's an inexpensive stay and the rooms are quiet and clean. Not a picky person lol. So my experience here is great. The facility is clean. The breakfast is fine. Reasonable for the price.

This would be a 5/5 had it not been for an experience with "Karlene" at the front counter. We went to check in with two rooms. Somehow, unbeknownst to us, four rooms were booked. We believe the hotel made an error, or it could have been our travel department booking (they've never made an error before). Karlene informed us that regardless, we were paying for four rooms although we'd only booked and needed two. We also had a conference room and catering booked with the hotel. Kari, who manages the conference and events, is effing INCREDIBLE and wonderful to work with. She was creative, adaptive, and kind. Back to Karlene; I asked her for the names assigned to the other two "booked rooms." She tells us that for privacy reasons, she cannot give us the names. The owner of the company then said "It's my credit card, and my company, and my employees. I'm not paying for rooms when you can't tell me the names they're booked under." She was very snotty and aggressive in her reply, so I asked her "Are you trying to get us to cancel our rooms and remove our event, and take our attendees with us (several of our attendees were staying in the hotel). Unbelievably, she replied "Yes. Please just leave and never come back. I don't want to do business with you at all. Either way, you're paying for four rooms because we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Let's be real here; how can we cancel rooms we don't know are reserved? And if you can't give us the names of our employees who allegedly have rooms, how are we to discover where the error was made? Karlene told us to "screw off; I'm done helping you. I've got a baby at home and pregnant (and then stepped back away from the counter so we could see she was pregnant), and i'm not going to get myself fired by breaking the rules just for jerks like you." I stepped back and snapped her photo so I could remember her name easily. She FLIPPED OUT. She began screaming I'd violated her privacy and the law. "I'm calling the police right effing now" and other choice comments. I explained that it's not illegal to take a photo of anyone in a public space, and she yelled some nonsense. She left. No police showed up, much to our disappointment. To be clear, it is never illegal to photograph anything or any person in a public space (like a hotel lobby). I asked her for the names of the other rooms, and she indicated she couldn't tell us. I asked her if I could play 20 questions with her, and she did sort of agree. Further, although Karlene insisted we had four rooms booked, it was only three rooms, and because the extra room was in my initials, the other woman was able to manage the problem. She was kind, although flustered after the mess with her co-worker. It was an hour-long frustration, trying to figure out the BS Karlene had yelled at us about. The next day, we explained the problem to Kari (events manager) and she cleared everything up. We also discovered that Karlene had canceled our rooms for the second night we were booked to stay. Kari cleared that up too. The rooms are decent, the breakfast average for a mid-budget hotel, but the area is sketch, and the experience with Karlene really set a bad tone for our conference and event. Truly, we at the least, expected a visit from the hotel manager to apologize for how nuts and nasty Karlene had been. We heard from three other hotel employees that "Karlene has been a problem ever since she became pregnant." Yeah...that's the understatement of the week. We won't be back. Kari was great, but when we needed to park our equipment trailer, we were told by a different worker, we couldn't park it anywhere near the building (even though there were several trailers and heavy equipment trucks in the parking lot). We ended up parking in the tire store lot for the night, dropping our trailer at 10 pm and retrieving it at 8 am. The tire store guys were great. read more

UPDATE: Quality Inn read my review here and on Google, posted a lengthy apology, promised to use it as a customer service training aid, and comped me one night. Far more than expected, and much appreciated. I'm changing to three stars from one, since it really is a pretty nice hotel. ______________________________________ Possibly the worst hotel experience in 72 years and hundreds of hotels (I used to travel extensively for business). To attend a funeral, I had booked a king room nine days in advance for three nights. When I arrived, I was told there were no kings available, but I could have two queens. Further, since the hotel was sold out, I could only stay one night, but maybe if I spoke to a supervisor in the morning, they could find another room for me. I asked whether I could get an upgrade, and was told only the supervisor can, who wasn't on site, but I could check in the morning. Mind you, I had a funeral to attend in the morning, and wasn't particularly pleased to have to battle with the front desk. Since I was exhausted from driving for hours, I relented and took the two queens. Finally in the room, after a 30-minute check-in process, I found that the refrigerator wasn't functioning. This is a real problem because my wife carries medications that require refrigeration. Fortunately, maintenance was able to repair it. Finally ready to fall into bed, I pull back the sheets to see a gross yellow stain on the sheet. I guess I should have been grateful for two beds! We normally carry our own Keurig machine when traveling, but left it at home in this case, since the hotel had one. Of course, when I made coffee in the morning, I was rewarded with a cup of hot water with a few coffee grounds floating in it, because the Keurig was missing components.  Did I mention that the Internet logs off every few minutes? There was no supervisor on duty in the morning, and I was unable to get the king room I'd booked over a week before. "We're sold out," I was told again, without a hint of  sensitivity. Clearly, I was a bother to the desk clerk. I always approach these situations with kindness, because that usually helps to establish a mutually helpful relationship, but it wasn't helping here at all, so I pointed out that they were sold out because they sold my room to me. Nothing. An apology would have helped a bit, but none was forthcoming. But guess what? I can keep the room I didn't book for two more nights. On the plus side, they changed the sheet and fixed the Keurig while we were out, and they have a great breakfast spread. read more

Everything about the place was good. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is clean everywhere which is the number one thing for me. It is located in a good area where you can feel safe. Card key access. Room was spacious. Good bathrooms with good shower heads that spray hard enough to rinse well. Extra towels were already in the room. Flat screen TV that can be watched sitting on a couch instead of the bed. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. Parking is adjacent to the buildings. The included breakfast had reasonably good choices that were well stocked. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, scrambled eggs, potato tots and bacon as well as other typical things. Easy to find on N Division St. Many businesses close including decent restaurants. Cost a little more than other nearby choices but was worth it. Would stay here again. read more

We stayed here for a wedding. I'd never been to Spokane and didn't have any particular knowledge of the best areas to stay, but this hotel ended up being close to the wedding, and plenty of other important stuff - grocery store, food, breweries, etc. Rooms were basic, but modern and clean. Overall, we had a very comfortable and convenient stay. The service was excellent. We hit up the free cookies and coffee in the lobby a few times. The hotel is a bit dated on the outside as well as the lobby and hallways. However, it is clean and welcoming and a great price. The rooms and beds have been updated an whole the bathroom is just okay, it really is everything you need. The front desk folks were amazing and I was glad to see the signs requiring masks and sanitization measures in place. Breakfast was great, they serve you through a window and everything is clean and organized. I do wish there was some enforcement of the mask policy. Checked into the Evergreen Suite with my better half and stepdaughter. Upon arrival the room was not ready and no apologies were made for this. Rather the desk receptionist was quite rude and just said you can take a lesser room, leave or wait 30 minutes. We waited the 30 minutes of course after driving 6 hours. The room itself was quite decent. A separate living room area with kitchenette and a high table setting, french doors separating the sitting area from bedroom as well a see thru fireplace between bedroom and sitting area. Bathroom had a double shower with toilet and then the 2 person jacuzzi had a separate room off the bedroom. The jacuzzi was the main reason we got this room and unfortunately it needed to be cleaned much more thoroughly as the jets were spraying gunk and the faucet was incredible loose. We did not use the 24 hour pool/jacuzzi area but it looked nice from viewing. My better half did check out the free breakfast and said it was what you would expect in that avenue. Although, the room was nice the desk receptionist attitude was NOT and the unclean tub which is why I got the room ruined it for me. Unsure if we will return or not despite 2 up/coming college kids next few years here. Customer service and cleanliness matter! read more

Staying at Quality Inn Oakwood was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. If you are thinking about booking this hotel I would seriously reconsider. My sister-in-law reserved a block for her and my brothers wedding this past weekend. My husband and I booked a suite for two nights. The day of the reservation we received an email confirmation stating we could check in anytime after 11am which was not the case. We weren't able to check in until after 3pm, but considering it was the same weekend as Hoop Fest we understood and made arrangements. Check in on Friday was fine and our room was very nice which was expected considering the higher price we paid to stay in a suite. Saturday morning I told the cleaners to please not clean our room because we did not need service, and we left for the wedding. We received a call from housekeeping that afternoon stating we had several items left in our room and was supposed to be checking out. Not only were the cleaners inside our room when I clearly asked them to NOT go inside, but they were trying to check us out of our room when we had it for another night! We tried to explain and was told by housekeeping that we needed to call the front desk to get it figured out. The fact that the cleaners had called in the first place and not the people at the desk was completely unacceptable. We had to walk away from family pictures at my brothers wedding to call and get it figured out. The front desk told us our reservation was for one night when we signed paper work on Friday the day we arrived CLEARLY stating our stay was two nights not to mention we had booked our reservation almost 4 months prior! They then tried to tell us we would be moving rooms! We told them absolutely not we had paid extra to stay in a suite and we would not be moving rooms and no one would be touching our personal items. This was THEIR problem and not ours. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and ended up hanging up on us after saying they would figure it out. When we came back to our room after the wedding it was clear they had moved some of our items and cleaned our room which made us extremely uncomfortable to know random people were touching our personal items and going through our room! The next morning (Sunday) I was in the shower and preparing to check out when a random cleaner or maintenance man just walked into our room!!! No warning and didn't even knock but just walked straight into our room. Luckily I was still in the shower and my husband was sitting on the couch. He told the man he needed to leave our room and he said the shower from our room was leaking into the front lobby. Which made no sense considering we had used the shower twice the day prior with no issues and we were on the third floor? How does a shower leak two floors down into the lobby? Thank goodness I was not getting dressed or naked when this man inappropriately trespassed into our room without permission or so much as a knock!! The entire weekend was a complete disaster and its very clear that none of the people working there have any consideration for their guests or clue as to what is going on in the hotel. When we tried to speak to a manager we were told "they didn't have one on the weekends". How do you not have a manager or someone of authority working on a weekend where there is a wedding and a huge event happening like hoop fest?! We spent 600 dollars to stay two nights and I will NEVER return or use a Quality Inn ever again. Lack of customer care cost our 13 year olds bday stay to swim in the empty pool. This is not a covid problem. We checked in late and the front desk let me know there would be no spots open to swim that night . kids were so sad but we understood. I said - it's her birthday and is there any exceptions . she said no exceptions. I attempted to book the pool for the next morning and was told again ... No exceptions the guests needed to call to the front desk at 7 AM to book the pool for the next day . Sad - Woke up early and called at 6:59 AM to book the pool I was told - we only have 2 spots left as the pool has been booked all day . WTH I said how it's just now 7AM The interesting lady on the phone said "I made 1 exception for a guest leaving early for work" I said well you told me I had to call at 7AM and she said - that was not me that was the girl on the phone last night. Blaming her coworker for following policy while she did not. Then I said - there are so,many spots already booked at 7 AM and she said ... Yes I let several member book early. Staff here is amazing. Parking is free and very convenient. Pool and fitness center are open 24 hours a day. Prices are very competitive for the area. Location is very good, as it's close to lots of shopping and restaurants. I stayed in the Oakwood Suite and was pleasantly surprised the with amenities and quality of the room. The front desk staff was also fabulous and went way above and beyond to assist me with changing my reservation due to an error on my end. I will absolutely stay here every time I'm near Spokane from now on. read more

Where do I start? Quality Inn Oakwood has been an absolutely amazing experience for me. I travel a lot and I stay in many different hotels, and it is easy for me to say that Quality Inn Oakwood is the best of the best. From the moment I check in, I am greeted by a friendly staff and made to feel at home. Whether it is Daniel, Miranda, Joleen, or any of the other amazing staff members, they always make sure that I have everything I need for a pleasant stay. The rooms are always fresh, clean, and in good condition. The beds are comfortable and even the pillows are always nice, clean, and like new. The coffee maker in the room is such a nice touch and the coffees are always restocked every day. In the mornings, I come down to the kitchen for breakfast to the smell of freshly cooked bacon and waffles. The morning breakfast staff always does a fantastic job of making a great variety of quality hot foods. Laura, Sierra, and Sheridan are always pleasant and friendly in the mornings, and that is a big part of getting my day off to a great start!! They must have to arrive to work pretty early in the mornings to have everything ready to go by 6am, and I truly appreciate their efforts. Great place to stay while in Spokane with breakfast (eggs, sausages, waffles, bagels, yogurt, fruit among other items) included and a small fitness center. Fitness center, pool and hot tub opened 24/7 and the staff is super! I got a double queen size room for two days for 3 persons and prepaid for another night for my daughter who was leaving a day later. My husband and I left at 6 a.m. but my daughter could sleep in until noon, and they made early accommodations for my daughter to check into the king bed room at 1:00 instead of 4:00, and this was all during a busy weekend when both Gonzaga U and Whitman College held their commencement! It doesn't have a shuttle to the airport but my daughter made arrangements with Uber. There are cheaper hotels near the airport that are great but I was looking for both a gym and breakfast, and the hotel had consistent five star ratings on Yelp! Thanks Yelp! read more

Great hotel for the price. Breakfast has lots of options to choose from. I really appreciated the breakfast staff coming to us and asking us if we wanted to get something before they'll put everything away. All the staff are friendly. The indoor swimming pool and hot tub is very refreshing year round. And there's no weird rules on kids not being able to use the hot tub. The only weird thing is that the cleaning lady took my robe with the towels. I did get it back next day after I told the front desk about it. Poor customer service. I got a total of 3 hours of sleep due to a dog in the neighboring unit barking through the night. I reported it the the front desk only to have them tell me they are a animal friendly hotel and their is nothing they could do about it. I am glad to know they turn away people who have pets while traveling. But for them to make me feel like it's my problem and they won't offer to make it right in someway or offer to maybe move me to a room further away is unexceptionable. My Mom stayed here during her recent visit, so I'll talk about her experience. I saw the room and facility as very clean with a cozy lobby. The service was good as I checked into her room for her. She did say that the first night's sheets had a very strong bleach-like smell and the fitted sheet started to pop off the mattress almost on it's own. She called the front desk to alert them of the problem and they were very polite,apologetic and promptly corrected the issue. I saw the new sheets and they were soft and covered the entire mattress. I was rather surprised to see a down comforter on the bed too. A very good price for a simple, good quality room. Several restaurants nearby and downtown not too far away. Solid place that caters to sporty teams given its proximity to Gonzaga and Whitworth. Has a pool and a good fitness center. They are very service oriented. The facility is clean and works well for a relatively large motel off of a busy road. They have nice touches like cookies and popcorn in the evening. Great value hotel. read more

No matter what time you check-in, even if it's later in the evening, you are greeted warmly and quickly checked in. There is always coffee and water available. Complementary Internet, a wonderful pool, a weight room, a lovely breakfast (including waffles, sausage eggs muffins, yogurt coffee juice, and so much more. The rooms are newly upgraded and clean, clean, clean! One thing I really appreciate is that all the side entrances require room key to enter into the building and in the evenings after certain time the front doors also require a key or they will buzz you through (as there is always somebody on staff at the front desk). I Felt very safe staying at this hotel especially traveling alone. I've stayed here twice so far and I have been thrilled with the stay each time. Highly recommended! UPDATE - June 27, 2018 I need to be in in Spokane for five nights and six days so I booked a room here because it was so wonderful the last time I stayed here. I was very busy all day - checked into the room, dropped my bags and went back out - getting back pretty late and, very tired. All I wanted was to take a hot shower and jump into bed. I turned on the shower n& noticed mold growing around the shower niches that hold the soap, eeeeewww but oh well. As I started showering, I noticed that the water was backing up from the drain. Okay, now I'm super grossed out! In the morning I went down and reported all of that, plus the fact that the toilet kept running all night and would not shut off, to the front desk. The woman seemed very concerned and told me that they would get on that immediately and that's what I counted on. I came back to the room about 6:20 p.m. and used the restroom - the toilet once again kept running and would not shut off, I also noticed that the mold was still around the shower niches, so I went back down and told the front desk once again that the toilet was still running, and the mold was still there and I wasn't ready to jump in the shower and find out if I was going to be once again standing ankle deep in non-draining water. They sent maintenance up to fix the toilet and remove the mold. I haven't yet tried the shower. When you're paying over $800 to stay in a hotel for five days I would assume that you should expect a little more then a backed up drain, moldy walls, and a non functioning toilet! So for those reasons I had to remove a couple stars. I really doubt that I will take the chance and stay here again. I have four more nights counting this one so I may just be looking for another hotel tomorrow especially if the shower drain is not fixed. I am not happy staying here right now and feel sort of grossed out by the lack of concern that they are showing. UPDATE - well the toilet wasn't fixed and kept running and running and running so they gave me another room which was quite a bit smaller. The shower works - sort of - the water vacillates between cool and hot so I had to continually readjust the setting! The toilet flushes - yet the room is tiny and feels cramped. I will probably never stay here again. Its hard to believe this is the same hotel I stayed in the last time - very disappointing. read more

This review is based purely on lack of customer concern. I booked the room on Priceline, which I know is non refundable, but did for the wrong weekend. I called the hotel and Priceline less than 10 minutes after I booked it, not to ask for a refund, just to ask to adjust the dates, and they told me no. Quality Inn Oakwood is always a sure bet. The amenities, comfort and service for the price you pay is more than worthwhile. The hotel is centrally located along North Division with a Walgreens right next door, as well as shopping and a variety of great food selections within minutes. The staff at the hotel are professional and friendly, with a quick smile and eagerness to serve. The pool is now open 24-hours, as is the fitness center, and they've just completed an incredible renovation of the entire property. New flooring, plush carpet, added elevators and an immaculate breakfast and lounge area. Not to mention, the hot continental breakfast is complimentary and delicious! Along with a free morning newspaper, free WiFi and free parking for the duration of your stay - what more could you possibly need? read more

After driving for 6 hours from Tacoma to Spokane, I was beyond exhausted and only wanted to keys to the room so my head could hit a pillow. I booked this hotel stay via Expedia.com. I noticed their reviews were off the charts so it was a no brainer. When I had arrived at the hotel. I left my wife and dogs in the car so I could go check in. When booking on Expedia here was no mention of a "dog deposit" they did say they are "dog friendly." So I assumed they just allowed dogs. I didn't know they wanted a deposit. Money isn't an issue so that was not my problem. I was just caught off guard, and being exhausted didn't help. I kind of rudely which I regret, told her I wasn't paying a deposit. She was kind enough to see through my bad attitude and rude demeanor at that time and waived the deposit. The hotel has been excellent, pillows are ridiculously comfortable. Hotel is clean, well kept. Right next door to a Walgreens which makes getting essentials easy. They also provide free breakfast and light snack/dinner. I would stay here again and will if I return to Spokane any time soon. read more

Friendly, accommodating woman at front desk. Clean, cozy lobby. The room itself was spacious and clean but a touch worn. Mustard bedspread with 1980's mauve on rugs and walls? Ok, not a big deal, but due for an overhaul for sure. If the price was $60 to $70....I'd give this place 4 stars. For 89 or even more? No....not without some updating. There is a small vanity area before the bathroom. Bathroom is basic, bare-bones.(toilet, bathtub / shower) TV -- nice, large, flat-screen. This is a great place to stay. We were there for about 2 months while our house was being fixed due to a fire in one bedroom from a lamp that short circuited. With a disabled family member, the staff went out of their way to move us as little as possible.. 4 stars simply for a few minor issues for disabled people like the height of the beds, they do now have step stools. If short, request one also. They have the best breakfast of those we stayed at and are also doing evening meals a few nights a week. Would recommend first if staying on Northside of Spokane, but its not far from downtown and restaurants either. read more

I really liked the indoor pool that was away from the rest of the rooms and was open 24 hours a day. We had a group that had a great time in the Jacuzzi and pool. The rooms were clean and fairly roomy. The breakfast was good with waffles and a variety of fruits and cereals. We did have a problem with the toilet handle but they happily corrected the situation promptly. They have a large lobby for meeting in and the staff were very friendly. You get what you pay for. It's definitely not a luxury hotel, but I've stayed here multiple times for over ten years and never had an issue. They are clean, comfortable, and affordable. The pool is indoors and open late. Their gift shop is 24 hours. The staff is welcoming. As for food, there are always freshly baked cookies and coffee in the evening and a basic, but delicious, continental breakfast of fruit, muffins, eggs, waffles, cereal, juice, and more! Oh, and did I mention they are across the street from Steer Inn!? Always my go to hotel when visiting Spokane, unless I need to be downtown or in the valley as it can be a bit of a drive during peak traffic hours. read more
