What a unique experience! This place was recommended to us by a local, so we decided to give it a try. Upon walking in, you can definitely tell it's a local joint. It is not pretty dark inside but has plenty of TVs to watch sports, etc. It isn't totally clear upon walking in how it all works, but luckily we figured it out. For food, there is a spot in the corner to order. For drinks, you order at the bar. The peanuts cost $1.50 and can be gotten from the bartender. Like others commented, the beer is pretty cheap. The wine list is lousy, but that was expected. We ordered a 10 inch pizza with pepperoni and green peppers to share. This was a good size for two of us, and it was very reasonably priced. The crust was my favorite part. Perfectly thin and crispy. There was plenty of cheese on it, but I wish it had a tad more sauce. When visiting a buddy in the area we decided to stop in at Moose's Saloon on a whim. What a great decision! This is the epitome of a dive bar - very cheap beer, cash only, wood chips and peanuts on the floor, a dark and somewhat dated interior and an interesting assortment of customers. I must say this is probably the best dive bar I've ever been to since it nailed all the qualities mentioned above. The line for pizza can get long and stretches right next to the bar seats which is a bit awkward, but the line goes quick and the pizza is great so it's totally worth it. Beers are around $3 and served in sturdy mugs that are around 12 ounces or so. Peanuts are $1.50 and pair nicely with the pizza and beer. Bring cash since credit cards aren't accepted. Fun interior with sawdust floors and a surprisingly perfect score from the health dept. Cheap drinks, and Moose's proudly serves many state brewed beers in large and frosty glasses. The accolades will now stop, as I am about to say something I think others might fight me for: the pizza? Ok. It's pizza you eat when you're buzzed. Drunk people food. However, the way they make it really tears up the roof of your mouth. Don't recommend it at all. Doesn't reheat well. Poor Boy Sandwich was fine and came with chips and a pickle. This place is absolutely amazing! The menu is extremely limited, but considering they've been around 60 years, they must be doing something right! You don't go here for a gourmet dining experience, you go there because it's a cool AF little bar that attracts mostly locals and has some of the iciest ice cold beer on tap. There's sawdust on the floor, mixed in with plenty of peanut shells and it is so dark in there, you definitely need to use the flashlight on your phone to study the menu. You order food at a little counter behind the bar, and you order drinks from a friendly bartender. For $5, we got 2 icy drafts, 1 Coors Light and 1 Modelo - what a bargain! I could have sat there all day drinking beer and shooting the breeze, munching on salty peanuts. We split a pizza with pepperoni and half mushrooms and half meatballs. Our pizza was perfection! The crust had the most wonderful crunch to it. The floors are covered in sawdust and the walls are covered in carvings of peoples names and moose heads. It's a one of a kind experience. The bartender was... chilly. It's interesting other reviews said how friendly the bartender was because that couldn't have been further from our experience. You have to order food from a window off to the side and when my boyfriend said we were going to order food the bartender didn't bother to point him in the right direction he just ignored his request for menus. The best part is that they offer a gluten free crust which makes it convenient for everyone in our Group. You order the pizza at the counter , and it gets delivered to your table when it's done. So many locals have told us this is "the place" for pizza, and that it was the best in the valley. So, this week, we decided to give it a try! I was a bit hesitant, as I just couldn't fathom that pizza from this very old Saloon would be that good. But, I was in the mood to take a chance! Upon entering from the street - you first notice that the place is very dark. The floors are covered in sawdust. As your eyes adjust, you see that the space is full of booths and tables and a big bar off to the right. The vibe was family friendly but very rustic and down to earth. We grabbed a booth back in the corner and then ventured over to the window where you order the pizza. While the toppings are not very extensive or upscale, they had plenty of options. We each ordered a 12 inch of our own. We then went to the bar where you have to buy the drinks separately, just note, the bar part is cash only! The other note, we had assumed a saloon would have hard liquor - so we could get a mixed drink, but they do not. As non-beer drinkers, we were left with super cheap wine, or they had Mike's Hard Lemonade, White Claws and a few other canned options. This was the only negative so far. We went back to our booth, opened our white claws and waited for the pizza. It took a while for the pizza to come, but nothing crazy. They were busy and you could see them in the back making pizza's to order. When the pizza came, my first impression was very good. I loved that they cut the pizza in lots of small pieces. For some reason, I love it when a place does this! Then, it was love at first bite. I was stunned that the pizza was this good. As someone who grew up in California, the closest thing this pizza resembles is Round Table Pizza. The quality, the crispy and thinner crust, the fresh ingredients and the top notch flavor were all incredible. Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY. Looks like a seedy bar from the outside and not much better when you walk into the dimly lit space, but once you step foot onto the sawdust floor and adjust your eyes, you're in for a pleasant surprise. It's like stepping foot into a world from a hundred and twenty years ago, or so, minus the lights and modern amenities, of which there are few, maybe (if memory serves correct) an arcade game or two. This place deserves stars because it's a fun experience. A bar that only serves beer and wine was a little different, you order at the window and then they bring you your food. There was little service oh had to grab what you wanted basically. The place is dark but hey it's a dive bar. However I do believe they should have a sign that it's a dangerous place if you have a peanut allergy. So it's not for everyone but that's what makes this place cool. Travelled almost 16hrs to get to Kalispell...family is hungry and this pizza joint looks good! Decided to order to go and just eat it in the hotel. The lady that answered the phone was very pleasant and gave us couple of suggestions on the sizes of pizza to order and toppings that would be good on "Create your own". Sorry- I do not get it. everyone raves about it... so I went. the sawdust is moist, so you smell it as you enter. when you walk in by the back you walk past the back of the kitchen. This view will not give you much confidence in the food you will receive. It is very dark, so we turned on our phones just to find some tables. we sat there for 11 minutes with no one coming to help. we watched others and don't know exactly what was going on. another 5 minutes pass, some others received food, but no one came to help us. A true dive bar saloon. The food was fantastic and fairly priced. The staff was friendly and quick. I would become a regular if i lived in the area. They do offer takeout as well, so after reading the next paragraph, that could be an option. We came as a family with kids because we filtered 'good for kids' in our search. The food was good for kids, but the atmosphere is not. I am not trying to shelter my kids, and there was nothing bad happening that i would regret them seeing... but it's just not a place where i would purposely bring my younger children.
