After dining at Nado restaurant, instead of going to the car to go home, my family just crossed the parking lot and went to NADO GELATO . We got the 2 LARGE sizes, and each cup had 4 scoops of ice cream included, first cup we chose: Mascarpone, Chocolate, Passion fruit and Mocha and for the second cup we chose: Butterscotch, Strawberry Biscotinno, Pistachio Both ice cream cups have a couple of delicious flavors , a few of them we cant taste much of the flavors as described in the list , our top favorites are the passion fruit and strawberry , chocolate . Yum yum yum yummm...(imagine me singing this to the tune of Beethoven's 5th Symphony). This gelato is SO SO GOOD! This is my gelato go-to again on the east side of Coronado. We used to always come here as a family after we dined at Garage Buona Forchetta across the street. We started getting dessert at the restaurant for dinner and had not been here on years. I am glad that we decided to come here. The fruit flavored gelatos are PHENOMENAL here. Actually, all of the flavors are excellent. I decided on a 3 flavor waffle cone, and I am so happy that I did. My flavors were Opera (pistachio & hazelnut), Pear, and Nutella/Hazelnut. This gelato is absolutely decadent, fresh, and delicious. They also serve espresso drinks and they do the espresso pairings with gelato, like affogatos, etc. I usually have Gelato Paradiso but it is on the other side in of Coronado. This hit the spot. I also found out, from the lead hostess (she was working the gelato spot too) that Nado Republic next door is their restaurant. I am going to have to try that out soon! read more

Overall, average gelato. My guy and I got to try a few flavors before we ordered. I was very grateful for this because we ordered the only 2 flavors that were good to us: Mascarpone Lemon Zest and Blueberry Lemon (Chef's Special). We got a small and the scoops were baby scoops compared to what most gelato places will give you. We ended up getting tired of the flavors after a few bites each and didn't wanna finish the rest. I came here by chance because we just finished up our bike ride next door at Wheel Fun Rentals. I saw there was a line going in, so I looked this up on Yelp really quick and saw there were great reviews for this place. So decided to check this out! The line moved by very quickly, it seemed like everyone already knew what they wanted to get haha. I asked if they do samples (since I didn't see anyone doing that?) but yes they do! I got to sample a few and the pistachio and hazelnut stood out to me the most. Thankfully the small size cup comes with 2 flavors cause BLESSSS. For the price of these 2 flavors in a small cup, it's very affordable! I don't have gelato very often, but the gelato here was sooooo soft and rich. Between the two flavors I got, I actually really enjoyed the hazelnut one the most. It's definitely sooo rich and extremely soft. We couldn't leave Coronado without grabbing gelato from one of the local shops. Nado makes all of their gelato fresh daily and they had 20 varieties to select from, including several traditional Italian flavors and a few fruity vegan ones. One of the employees welcomed us right as we walked in and allowed us to each try a couple samples. He was so kind and probably would have kept the samples coming had we asked! I selected a small size which is $5.85 and includes your choice of two flavors - matcha and amaretto for me! The matcha had an authentic tea flavor with a nice balance of earthy and milky notes. After not having a matcha for about a week, this was delightful. The amaretto tasted similar to marzipan with tiny bits of crushed almonds throughout; I could have definitely devoured a full cup of just this one. I enjoyed my gelato overall, but it just wasn't as creamy as I anticipated. I also found a small chunk of ice in the amaretto, so I'm not quite sure what happened there, but I can easily look past it. I appreciated that both flavors tasted very natural indeed and neither was too sweet. I'd recommend for a sweet treat after a day of exploring the island in the heat. read more
