Dessert case full of tempting treats

We've visited Tartine a few times over the years and it never disappoints. Tonight we opted for the house-made gnocchi with Gorgonzola walnut sauce (devine--the gnocchi were lighter than air and delicately pillowy while the sauce was rich and luscious) and the steak (cook perfectly; tender and flavorful). We took a chocolate mousse back to the hotel for dessert since we were stuffed! Don't miss out on the coffee!

    White Chocolate
 Pistachio Bavarian Cake, 10"

I recently ordered a large White Chocolate Pistachio Bavarian cake for a birthday party from Tartine, they have a specific cake menu. The person who took my order was very detail oriented and the cake was ready when I went to pick it up, they ask that you give them about a week advance notice. The cake was 10" but could have served at least 15 people. It was delicious!

Two stars because of the generous amount of tuna. But otherwise...

The host and server did not look happy. Almost as if they were upset with me for being the kind of person who would go there to eat. But that doesn't matter. What matters is the food. And the fact that they sell a tuna salad sandwich with very hard bread (it was warm when it came out, but cools off and hardens fast) and leaves with dressing for $16 when you can get a tuna sandwich with soft bread and a bag of chips for $7.95 just fifty feet away at Boney's Bayside Market. Maybe that's why the server looked so upset with me; he assumed I was one of those rich, out-of-touch Coronado idiots who continue to blow their money on crap like this. And it's so upsetting to see how wasteful people can be with their money. I'm just a working class guy who made a wrong lunch decision is all. (I should've gotten fruit instead of salad. It was ONLY $3.50 more...)

I come here for coffee and I stay here for the atmosphere. The baked goods entice me some where in between. This is my favorite cafe on the island to sit down and enjoy good coffee with better company. The patio feels nestled, but spacious offering a great venue to sit and relax. The coffee is very good for a cafe that offers a full pastry and food menu. I typically order the cappuccino here as it provides a good balance between strong espresso and milky lattes. The food is high end and I enjoy exploring something new every time. The eggplant panini is incredible. The rotating stock of baked goods are never the same and I enjoy the surprise of what flavor of scone they'll have whatever day I found myself here. If you're in a rush (sorry), their take out service is efficient.

I got a decaf earl grey and the seared tuna sandwich. The tea was soothing. I would've liked a bit more seasoning on the fish itself, but it was quite good otherwise. The white sauce did pull most of the remaining weight. The tuna was also super thick and fat, definitely not a small portion. The bun was also thick and supportive. The fries were generically good. They remind me McDonald's fries a bit, but when they're actually fresh and have nice texture. I get the sense that this may not have been their best items. If I come back, I sorta want some quiche and salad.

Enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast out side. Had a cold brew and Mexican mocha along with an order of granola and oatmeal. Nathaniel was nice and let us take our time relaxing and enjoying our coffee. He offered for us to look at their pastries as their dessert menu changes daily.

Incredible food and an excellent value. We came here just before NASCAR. The charcuterie and fruit tart and lemon meringue tart were so incredibly scrumptious that we returned for breakfast the next day and got more desserts to go and share with my parents at home. Showstopping presentation especially for desserts. I loved the relaxed, friendly and restful atmosphere and I told my friends about this place! Did I mention the addictive epi bread from Bread and Cie with European butter? I got extra loaves to go.

Nice seating indoors and out. Indoors is very noisy with most of it coming from the staff and kitchen. Very loud. They open early but their breakfast menu is extremely limited. Cafe was very good. Oatmeal was standard. Croissant was very nice and served warm. Seems it really is about the takeout pastries until lunch. Wouldn't come back with a group for breakfast unless you want coffee and light food. Lunch and dinner menu are more extensive. Example they don't serve any eggs at breakfast unless you buy the $20 quiche. Service was decent but no follow up in the taste of food nor cafe check. Seems they were busy still setting up the tables and getting squared away. Example: They delivered the table flowers at the end of my meal as a drive by with no words. Just plunked it down. Should have that done before they open. Get a reservation for outside tables. They offered a table but then told me the best tables were reserved. Was here for a good bit and no one ever sat at them. Va bene. Tables and floor were a bit dirty for starting the day. Overall a solid 3 based on selections, cleanliness, price and value. It's got a bit of a cult following but I think it is time for a refresh and increased attention to detail. If you want a full true breakfast this isn't the place on Coronado.

Wow! Great food. Had the stroganoff. Huge chunks of beef, great cheese and they make the pasta themselves. Best stroganoff I have had ever. And don't forget the deserts They make themselves and fresh daily. Had this insane cookie and yes I had the brownie. Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the desserts and menu. First time, but not my last.

Prime location right at the viewpoint.

What a cute cafe! Recommended by the valet at the hotel when I asked for good coffee and he said, "there is a European bakery up the street..." I said, say no more. Great baked goodies, a large food and lunch menu, and delicious coffee. I will be back! Service for to go was super friendly.

So I think similar to other reviews we waited a bit by the sign that requests you wait to be seated, until I saw someone walk past me to the register so we waited in that line i let to get to the front and again not be acknowledged by any stay for a few more minutes. Then when we did begin to order they asked "to go" and when we stated for her is when we were seated. Overall waiting to order maybe took 20 minutes? I can understand- there was little staff present between orders bussing and making drinks. It's a large restaurant so it's hard to staff. The food was delicious, we ordered a pavlova, the banana chocolate chip coffee cake, a charcuterie board and two coffees. I could have been happier with the meal. We weren't in a hurry so really the wait was fine.

Stopped by Tartine and had the prosciutto panini -- it was really good, fresh, and full of flavor. The servers were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Simple, delicious food with great service. Would definitely come back!

I think the name was in homage to the orange trees (and buildings to protect them) that were planted along the avenue by the original settlers of Coronado. There was a lovely outdoor patio in front of the entrance. The interior had several tables across from the open kitchen for inside seating. If you don't mind being outside, then dining al fresco is the way to go. A menu of the day was available that featured drinks, salty, sweet, and dessert items. The main menu was several pages long with a few of them dedicated to drinks. For a French bistro, the variety of items was solid. From the list of nine Main Courses, I chose the Creamy Chicken which was a chicken breast coated with cream and mushrooms. French fries and a salad came as sides to the dish. The flavor of the creamed mushroom sauce was good while the fries were ordinary. My concern was the prices as they seemed high, especially for some of the more simple preparations. I noticed that Chef Philippe and all of the staff were fluent in French which was a good sign for the camraderie of the team. The service I received from multiple workers was fine. A happy hour runs from 2:30 to 5:30 daily. I rounded the rating for my dining experience at L'Orangerie up to a four star level because I really liked the ambiance of this new café.

If I had to describe it in one word I would say "aesthetic". Service: Great, the servers check in a decent amount of the time and you can usually flag them down if you need anything Food: This is where my review goes downhill. The only thing I would say is worth getting at this restaurant is the baguette with butter (no add-ons, caviar or whatever they have going on at the time -- its just not worth it -- when I got the black truffle on my butter the shavings were so thin they might as well have not been there since it made no difference in flavor) The tamarind wings are one dimensional -- the wings are fried well, but lack in flavor, its straight *overwhelming* tamarind with no other notes. House made egg noodles lack any sort of noticeable flavor, most of it stemming from the Lap Cheong but most definitely not worth the price tag that it holds ($36) The dry aged duck is where I feel the most "scammed out of". Ive gotten this both times i've been here. Both times its been overly salty. I understand its dry-aged, but the saltiness overtakes any other flavor of the duck. The sauces try to make up for the lack of flavor but they just cant carry the entire dish on their own -- especially not for a $100 price tag. The first time I ordered this dish (Jan 2026) the duck came out cold-warm, and the second time I came here (July 2026) it came out warmer.

The vibe is very European. The waitstaff is very engaged, friendly and provides excellent service. Appetizer - We had the Citrus Marinated Octopus and Calvados Chicken Liver Pate. Both were simply amazing and full of flavor. Soup - We each ordered the Sweet Corn & Pinon soup. I can't begin to describe how delicious it was. They use wildflowers in the soup which provide a unique flavor. The soup is packed with flavor. Salads -We had the Brussel Sprout salad and the Roasted Baby Beets salad. Both were great but the Roasted Baby Beets was out of this world. The Mexican Lavender dressing, candied pecans, pickled onions and Fennel Goat Cheese danced on our tastebuds. I am looking forward to going back soon to try more of their menu. It's very rare that a restaurant's menu captures my complete attention. Wolf in the Woods menu is full of flavors, unique ingredients and incredible textures. I really want to order one of everything. Go! I promise you will have incredible meal and become obsessed with this restaurant. Planning to go back Saturday, August 29, 2026 with a group of friends. We were walk-ins, so seated at the bar but that was more than fine since we got to see all the actions as the dishes were being prepared. They recommend 4-6 dishes for 2 people. We got 5, and that felt right. We had the eggplant toast, corn soup, Brussels sprouts salad, yellowtail (our favorite) and the mushroom polenta. All delicious in their own way. What a gem of a restaurant!
