I stopped here while i was waiting for an event to start that i was attending. It was in waking distance for me, which is good because parking is only street parking or to find a paid lot. The flavor selection was pretty vast and they were generous with letting you try samples. They made sure to ask me if i had been there before, so they could explain things to me. He let me know they make their own ice cream. I sampled several flavors all of which were good. I was torn between the chocolate pecan and the bourbon butter pecan as they were both good. Thinking back maybe i should have gotten a combo of both, but i went with the bourbon pecan in a cup. The portion size was pretty good, and actually i couldn't finish the whole thing, even though i got a small. It was very creamy and has a good flavor, even though i didn't really taste the bourbon much, but there were plenty of whole pecans.. They also sell other baked goods that look really amazing. Ordering if a bit confusing when you get there, I think they need a much clearer way to explain the type of cup topping and cone options. Almost everyone that entered had to ask what the options are and also if there are kids cup options. The portions are very large, they do warn you! The mocha almond fudge was okay, the fudge wasn't enough and the mocha was not as strong as I've had at other places. The strawberry was okay as well. The Cookie Monster was okay as well, my child did not want to finish it. Which is a first! Ice cream is the favorite in our house! Everyone in our group wasn't a big fan of the ice cream, even with 10 different flavors that were ordered. This place didn't hit the spot like other places we have been to. Maybe when we're back in the area we'll try another flavor to give them another chance. Employees were nice, but they do need a better system with remembering a larger order and making sure everyone had their ice creams. I came to Cali Cream since it was down the street from dinner and we were craving a sweet icy treat. I've always walked by here, but never went in. There wasn't much of a line on a Saturday night. We didn't sample, we just picked Pistachio and Banana Pudding. I liked that the banana pudding had bits of vanilla cookie mixed within. Now I normally don't review dessert places because I have the biggest sweet tooth EVER but I am super super picky with my desserts, but I had to write a review because I really enjoyed this ice cream shop. So there are over 50 flavors here and they are all homemade, which is crazy and I was so excited to try some out! Onto the ice cream! Seriously the person who was helping us was so kind, she let us sample so many of flavors. She even let us sample some twice! Which I admit is so annoying as a customer but I really just could not decide, and at the time there was no one else in there so she let us go crazy and was again super nice about it. We were already off to a great start with the myriad of delicious flavors and the incredibly kind employee. We ended up deciding on the ice cream flight, which was an economical option to get as many flavors for the best price. The employee also mentioned that they give generous portion sizes which as you can see in my photo is true. The four flavors we decided on were Banana Cream Pie, Graham Central Station, Matcha and Ube, and Strawberry Cheesecake. I think all four were part of the most popular flavors list they do. I have to give a special shoutout to the Graham Central Station because oh my gosh was this so good. The cookie crumbles in it added a nice crunch and just added chocolatey goodness to the already delicious ice cream. The ice cream itself was rich and creamy and was like the best graham cracker i've ever had. This would not be my normal go-to flavor but I had to deviate from my norm because it was just so delicious. The Banana Cream Pie was also so rich and tasted just like the pie. The Strawberry Cheesecake was a classic and had more of an artificial strawberry taste, but the cheesecake base was phenomenal. The Matcha and Ube was unique and I LOVE both Matcha and Ube so I loved that they were swirled together and they complimented each other very well. Honorable mentions went to the Oreo Dough, the Mint Chocolate Chip, and the classic Cookies and Cream. I did not decide on these flavors but I think they deserve a shoutout because they were super yummy.
