We were nervous about the logistics of moving half way across the country and Moovers just made it so easy for a fair rate. 2 day guaranteed delivery, pack up, unpack, same truck and same team for both halves. So much easier than doing Pods, hiring moving companies in each city, and getting your stuff 8 days later. About $2k more expensive but so worth it in my opinion. Edgar and his team were awesome. I moved 2 weeks ago Thursday, April 4th. I was moving within my same building from the 3rd floor to the 1st. Daniel was my main contact. They arrived promptly at 8am after I was given an arrival time of 8-9am. These 2 gentlemen were so fast and efficient. Not a single item was damaged or messed up in any way at all. Everything was handled carefully and they listened to where I wanted things. They helped me set up a rug I purchased before bringing down the furniture to go on it. I was having trouble unscrewing my modem from the wall and they helped me. They brought all my plants down carefully. I just can't say enough. Overall they were so efficient and fast, on smaller items they were careful and considerate. All my furniture was taken apart and put back together without an issue. As I mentioned above, I expected to lose something in the move. Something always breaks, not bad movers but even sloppy packing on my part. But literally, not a single item was lost in the move. No wild shifting of items in the boxes. Finally, they completed the job 30 min over the quoted time. This review has been a long time coming because of the mental anguish I suffered as a result of hiring this company...I wanted to submit a thorough account of my experience.. Moving is a monumental transaction and even though I Google searched all of the How-to & don'ts of moving, never did I read any content on what I would later experience as piracy. Let's get the financial details out of the way...The entire transaction cost me ~$25k all nearly entire green paper money cash because of their limited acceptable forms of payment in addition to substantial service fees. I hired Moovers in the summer of 2022 to move me out of my home of 35 years. They moved my 3 bed 2 bath home first into storage and re-delivered ~6 months later. (I originally posted pics implying a job well done which later proved me wrong.) To start, upon move-out day they brought an additional worker than originally quoted. Within minutes after arrival their crew of 7 were scampering throughout and emptying-out my entire house. Sounds good right but my head was spinning. They shrink wrapped &/or re-boxed absolutely everything including a pillow, all at *additional costs. (I believe my original quote was ~$18K). Any of my previous attempts to segregate items not for move were either un-noticed or ignored until I didn't know any better. Needless to say it was an emotional time yet I still treated the workers to food and beverages in addition to a generous cash tip which the crew chief continuously plugged the entire day. Upon redelivery the same whirlwind ensued including food, beverages & cash tips. In fact I allowed them to take all the bevvies home that day...however they expanded my generosity to include my set of ratchet screw drivers. BTW the same issue occurred during the move-out with my drill which I fortunately recovered same-day. Because of these two similar experiences, it seemed apparent that they had a keen eye and skill at "casually" procuring popular items. Because my new location was still under reconstruction when my belongings were re-delivered, it was many weeks before I un-packed and eventually discovered that the "one" missing box was my jewelry collection. (I am manifesting just for evidence and sadly have given up on any thought of recovery.) This collection contained pieces such as Tiffany's silver mesh, genuine crystal beaded necklace and bracelets, genuine pearl choker in a Wieboldt's velvet bag, ivory cameo pendant, amethyst pendant, my Mother's gold locket (that I bit while teething,) to sentimental items such as my class ring, the charm bracelet I received upon my First Communion (plus 30 yrs of charms), vintage turquoise, silly clown & reindeer lapel pins my Dad brought home from work trips, a rosary blessed by Pope Paul VI, the picture charms of my kids and lastly my puka shells. I know what you're thinking, who steels puka shells?! UGH! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME??? Did I or didn't I take better precaution??? I thought I had. I have searched my mind many many many times over as to how this happened and I can't escape thinking I'm responsible and that really sucks! This should not be on me. Oh and yes, I did call Moovers several times and they had no idea what happened to my box and offered zero re-compensation or gave zero-sh*ts. I'm only responsible for being kind. I do not recommend this company even to a hermit crab and suggest you literally cover your assets regardless who you use. But don't give up on kindness...hopefully will prevail. read more

Moving is stressful. As I thought about past experiences with moving companies, there's one I know I was happy with, so it only made sense to use Moovers Chicago again. I went to their website to fill out their user friendly intake form and received a call within 10 minutes from Moses. When I spoke with Moses about the upcoming move, I wasn't sure how much assistance I needed, but said I didn't think I could finish packing due to work/life demands. He was very helpful and assured me they could handle the job. He also said because I called early enough in advance of the move date that he would schedule his best crew available. Well, Moses definitely came through on promising his best team. I got a call from the foreman, Edgar, just before 8 am on the day of the move and I was impressed that he and his crew, Ismael, and Miguel, arrived on the earlier side of the 8-9 am start time. After introductions, I walked them through the apartment and explained that I work 10-11 hour days with little time left to pack, but Edgar reassured me it was fine and he made me feel at ease. As they started to carry things to the truck, I continued to box up what I could and I was able to sporadically chat with the team to try and learn a little something about them along the way. Each one of the crew members was so friendly and professional as they kept things moving, but still engaged in conversation with me. When they had almost everything loaded, Edgar asked what items were left to pack. I found several cabinets I overlooked and I think my exasperation showed because Edgar asked me if I was okay. I apologized and told him I was so tired of my belongings that I just wanted to walk away from it all. He was kind and genuine when he said, "Hey, don't worry. I promise we'll get it done. It's going to be okay." I was grateful Edgar could detect I was stressed from the move and that he could diffuse it. These are the leadership skills a foreman needs in a customer facing position and he knew just how to handle it. Then all three of them, Edgar, Ismael, and Miguel packed up what was left with a remarkable swiftness. They worked quickly and seamlessly together as each dish was pulled down from the shelves, carefully wrapped in paper, and loaded into boxes. It was like watching a well-oiled machine as one passed china to the other without missing a beat. After finishing in record time and upon arrival to my new place, the crew quickly got to work unloading the truck. As they brought items inside, they were thoughtful enough to ask where I wanted them placed. Eventually, they had everything emptied out and Edgar met with me to review the final invoice. He guided me through each itemized charge, clearly explaining what it was for, and I appreciated his detailed notes. As they wished me luck and left, I couldn't help but feel like a bunch of my friends moved me into my new place. It still makes me smile when I think about how nice they were. I don't write reviews much anymore, but I was honestly compelled to share my experience because I know how difficult it can be to find decent movers. So give Moovers Chicago a call and if you're early enough in scheduling, then request to have Edgar and his crew do the job because these gentlemen will give you their best in making sure things are done right. Fast response from Moses for each of my request and reasonable pricing imo in this day and age with inflation etc. Enrique, Victor, and Juan were my assigned movers today (6/11/22) and they were absolutely fantastic. These men worked really hard. They handled each of my item with care. Enrique did most of the talking and he is simply brilliant. He addressed each of my concern with thought and came up with sound solutions. My items were going into a storage unit and eventually cross country and he packed the items in preparation for the future cross country move. This weekend we used Moovers to haul some heavy furniture to a storage unit that was about 1/2 mile away. Initially they were over communicative on scheduling, quote and confirmation of a window between 9am and 10am. So I appreciated all that. The only thing that kinda stunk was I get a call at 7:55am saying the movers (2 man job) were 5 minutes away. I'm not sure what happened to the 9am-10am window? God bless these two guys as they hauled away the heavy desk and dresser to where they needed to go. Nothing was dinged on the walls or scratched which was perfect. Do not use - movers are not careful and company takes advantage of fine print at every turn instead of doing the right thing. We used MOOvers in our apartment move on Monday, June 20th. We hired them due to their strong reviews on yelp. During the move, our stuff was not handled carefully. We saw the movers drop a few boxes and carry too much at one time. We also chose the option of protective TV boxes to ensure the safe move of those valuable items. When our TV arrived, it was cracked and wouldn't turn on. They also reassembled our bed frame, but did such a poor job it nearly broke when we laid on it and screws/nuts/bolts were used in the wrong spots and made it unable to disassemble. Since complaining to the company, they continue to take advantage of us via fine print things that no normal person would know about or understand. read more

We (well, okay, my fiancée) solicited quotes from various moving companies for a cross-town move. Moovers' estimate came in several hundred dollars lower than the next lowest, and they had good reviews. Enrique, Daniel, and Alex showed up promptly and threw themselves into the work. We were in a garden unit with tricky stairs and entries. Despite this, they wrangled everything up to a king mattress and made it look easy! At the new place, the company wasn't able to acquire the necessary parking permits, which made things challenging... But they snaked the truck down the alley to our back door and had everything unloaded in forty-five minutes flat, including setting up the bed frame, foundation, and mattress. We contacted Moovers on a Saturday with an emergency situation and they were able to squeeze us in the next day! We ordered three VERY HEAVY almost 200lb 72x80 sliding glass patio doors that were supposed to be delivered to each floor of our 4-story building. So heavy and big, in fact, the Menards delivery guys would not take them up the stairs and left them in our breeze way. Moovers crew of Chris, Miguel and Juvenal saved the day! The stairwells were so tight that the doors barely made the corners but they were able to miraculously do it. When the three arrived from their grueling drive, they were clearly exhausted. Can't praise this company enough. We used both their moving and storage services in December and January. Every employee was helpful, considerate, and professional. We moved into storage for a couple of months and their rates were very reasonable. They did a terrific job wrapping our furniture, art, and lamps. We were able to request the same crew who did the move out to move us into our new place. They were a couple of hours early on the move-in side, but we were just fine with that. Moving is not for me. I lived in the same apartment for 16 years, and a big reason was because I despise even the idea of moving. When it came time that I had to move, I decided for the first time I would hire help. I saw the great reviews on Yelp for Moovers Chicago and went with them, and I couldn't be more happy with that choice. From the beginning I worked with Karen, who got an inventory of what I was moving, the dates I was looking for, etc. Once hired, she stayed in contact, reaching out to let me know everything was a go and confirming all of the details. The day of the move the team of Daniel, Lino, and Aldo showed up. Let me tell you, this wasn't going to be the easiest move. Moving from the third floor of a walk up building in Chicago to the second floor of a walk up building in Oak Park-not exactly a good time. But not once was there a complaint from the team. They arrived (on time, I might add), got right to work, and within an hour had everything wrapped and loaded. Everything unloaded at the new place in less than an hour. These men worked non-stop. They carried more weight than I thought humanly possible. No time wasted, and they got the job done well. Their estimate was very reasonable, and the total even came in at less than they quoted. I would 1000% recommend them to anybody. If I ever move again, or need any help with moving anything, they will be my first call. Thanks guys for the job well done! read more

I am moving in a few months and have been collecting estimates from different moving companies in Chicago. I ended up not going with Moovers as I was repeatedly rubbed the wrong way during the estimating process. The rep I spoke with repeated multiple times that if I am just looking for the cheapest option, they aren't the right fit for me. I never once mentioned that being a part of my decision process. When I let the rep know I was going with a different company, they asked who it was and then proceeded to talk poorly about the service they offer and essentially say how much better they are. I have worked with the company I ended up going with and I did not have any issues. This interaction left a very poor taste in my mouth. You shouldn't have to talk poorly your competition and make me feel like I cannot afford you in the process. read more

After I posted my last review the manager of Moovers reached out almost immediately and was very apologetic about the experience. He wanted to know as many details as possible so he could figure out exactly what went wrong, as he is concerned about how his customers are treated, especially as a small business during the pandemic. That help after the move was really appreciated, so they deserve the higher vote, but overall the move still had more issues tallied up than any of my other moves. Overall I'd recommend them but a few tips if you hire them: 1. be really clear from the start what is an antique and what isn't. Also watch carefully as they bring the actual heavy items in. 2. if it looks like they're overwrapping a box or furniture item, double check with them about why. You don't need to nitpick, but since the plastic wrap they come with is not free after the first one, it's a good thing to keep an eye on. We were throwing out plastic wrap for weeks. 3. staff changes - make sure they tell you ahead of time how many people to expect and when. Four movers showed up for our move instead of 3 and there were plenty of opportunities ahead of time to let us know so we could plan (get snacks for them, get enough cash lined up) accordingly. read more
