The first time we went, the food was really good. Unfortunately, our second visit was disappointing. The butter chicken was just chunks of chicken, and the malai kofta tasted almost identical to the butter chicken sauce--no hint of cashew, same color, very bland. I had asked for "really mild," but the dishes were extremely spicy. On top of that, the worker touched the inside of the to-go container with her bare hands, which was off-putting. Indian Food is a great staple of deliciousness found among Indian Establishments here in the US. I've eaten everywhere from Taste of India to the mom and pops shops from the east coast to the west. Every now and then, you come across a hidden gem around your neck of the neighborhood that is either tucked and/or hidden off the beaten path. This place that we found today was right here in Corona for the last year (opened circa' April 2022) and we didn't even know about it until today. Finding the place is pretty easy as it's off I-15 and Foothill Parkway, in the little cute plaza next to China Fusion and Foothill Donuts (another great place for donuts). Parking is found in the adjacent lot and there's always parking available. There's times when I had to park next to the newly open hotel and the walk was simply 2-3 minutes tops! Once inside, you'll smell the aromatic taste of curry and garlic naan bread as you make your way to the ordering/cashier area towards the rear. As you make your way to the back, you'll pass a nice table and chair setup along a barstool area to the right. There are six large tables seating up to six chairs, and a barstool area on the rightside seating six high stools. Right away, the entrance has an upbeat feel to the restaurant with slight decorations and wall pieces that signify "trendy"! A marque sign "Curry" hangs above two cute seated lounge chair for patrons ordering a Take-out as they away seated for their orders! A well balanced Vibe to experienced. Simple yet elegant! Main menu can be found in the overhead graphical display, on a menu brochure, menus through Yelp app, and of course recommendations from the owner, Mr. Nick himself and/or his cute receptionist Ms. Vimean herself! I knew that we're going to try some kind of "masala". So when Nick recommended the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Butter Combo with a helping of Garlic Naan Bread, I was sold!! Here's what we ordered for this dine-in and included in the 2 item Combo we choose: 1. Chicken Tikka Masala with mild spicy level 2. Butter Chicken with mild spicy level 3. Two orders of Garlic Naan Bread 4. A large bowl of Rice to go with the curry 5. A small helping of salad Here are my thoughts of the Chicken Tikka Masala: -- The curry is very nice and has a very well balance texture when combined with the Naan Bread -- When poured and paired with the white rice the taste is very authentic and exquisite of "Punjabi" style curry. It has the effect of "Home Made" meal Here are my thoughts of the Butter Chicken: -- Butter chicken are usually more yellowish in color than most curry and this dish was on point -- Dipping the Naan invites a taste of India for a small location to explore -- When combined with rice, the flavor of the curry is splendidly balanced that makes you keep wanting to eat more and more. Definitely nostalgic of home made cooking and reminds me of the times I've had Butter Chicken at one of my good friends house when I was in elementary school! Upon entering the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was the aroma of herbs and spices in the air. Judging from the smell I knew I was in for a surprise that would live up to the excitement I was expecting. I ordered the chicken curry plate from the friendly cashier who took my order and waited at my seat while I enjoyed the scenery. After waiting a short while my food was ready the curry had so much flavor and was also well balanced. Not one flavor overpowered the other but worked together in tangent in harmony. What looked like a simple meal made me feel like I was at home enjoying a home cooked meal where you felt a lot of effort and love was made into the dish. Gulab Jaman - you receive 2 soft, sweet, and delectable donut-shaped fried dough balls topped in cardamom syrup. They are sticky. I love these. If you've never tried them and want a small desert, give it a try. $4 - 5/5 stars 7.Butter Chicken Naan Wrap - This is not on the menu yet! But it should be. They made this just for me. You will not find a vast buffet of foods to gorge yourself with here. This is more to the tune of a fast food style service and small menu. But the limited menu, focusing on different presentations of Butter chicken, Tikka Masala chicken, and lamb curry, shrimp, plus a handful of vegetarian options, including palate paneer, are all presented well and deliciously for the American palate. By this, I am referring to a less spicy rendition. Ah, all the proper spices and herbs are there, but you will not find yourself with a full blown runny nose and swollen lips to deal with. Yes, I am a chili wimp, but I love the glorious and complicated Indian spice blends. The Lamb curry was very special, with notes of cardamom coming through, served with a basmati rice that was seasoned with a delicate seed (guessing...caraway or cumin?), a small salad and a side of fresh garlic Naan. It was beautifully done. I sampled both the tikka masala sauce and the butter sauce before making a decision. Truth be told, I really had no preference. They were both that excellent, and not that spicy. I chose my Butter Chicken to be put in a Naan wrap. It looked like a burrito, with plenty of chicken, lettuce, tomato, green bell pepper, and dripping with their rich butter sauce. It's a messy little fellow, but entirely delicious. I highly recommend you try both the samosas and the puri appetizers called Stuffed Gol Gappe ( gohl- gap'-peh). Both are winners. My only observation for our next time would be to have the sauces for the Gol Gappe put separately in a bowl rather than drizzled on top. The sauces, a yogurt based and a sweet tamarind were excellent and refreshing but too much for me. Mango Lassi? Spot on! Next time, the Mint Lassi sounds fabulous too. There are also two "burgers" on the menu. Not traditional by any means, you can select either an Indian spiced ground chicken or ground lamb. Sounds yummy. There is no outdoor seating, and the indoor seating is limited. Finding More Curry was seriously, a great find! I am really looking forward to bringing our Indian food-loving family. I would, however, bring alternative foods for the grandkids, as this food is for a more sophisticated, adult palate. I checked, and the cashier said that was fine. read more
