My lunch mate said that the home fries were really good and he appreciated that they gave him gluten free toast at no up charge, though he said the bread was soggy, which is an interesting comment to make about toast. Love Perrecas! I seriously crave their food all the time. They have so many great options to chose from - lots of Italian dishes, and awesome specials. The environment is great, especially the outdoor seating which is very peaceful. I've tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and I've never been disappointed! No matter what time of day you eat here, the food is amazing. Go around 3-5pm if you don't want to deal with it being too busy. In the morning, frittatas and fresh squeezed OJ are my favorites. For lunch, the panini's with a soup or salad. And for dinner you will be looking at the menu all day trying to pick because they all sound good! Most importantly - make sure you save room for dessert or take some to go because their dessert is incredible - the cupcakes, cannolis, and chocolate torte are to die for! I always pair a dessert with a hot or iced cappuccino :) Definitely recommend! read more

I ate at More Perreca's next door to the bakery this evening, but I don't see a Yelp page for the restaurant, so I'll leave our experience here. I had homemade spaghetti with meatballs. It was delicious. They prepare the pasta by finishing it off in the sauce, the Italian way, and the meatballs were moist and tasty and obviously made with their Perreca's bread. My husband chose the special of the day which was a lobster mac & cheese. I'm no lobster eater, but he loved it and said it was full of big hunks of lobster. I had peaches in wine for dessert. Something I haven't had since I was a kid. My other half couldn't pass up the Perreca's Bread Pudding. Perreca's is just a good old-fashioned staple where you know it's always going to be good. And that goes for the bakery too. Our family has been buying bread there for generations. Cheers. read more

The best Italian we've had in a very long time. This little restaurant is out of the way and we wouldn't have found it if the friends we're staying with didn't highly recommend it. It's tucked in a little street but looking for. I had a lasagna with an authentic Bolognese sauce inside. It was absolutely perfect. The wine list was impressive and we settled on a tasty Zinfandel that our waiter suggested. It was excellent and we were somewhat shocked at how reasonable it was. We had garlic bread with, get this, bleu cheese crumbles. The combination of the garlic bread with the Zinfandel was simply over the top. We're from Miami, but Schenectady will always be in our hearts because of this little, unpretentious, fabulous restaurant. read more

Walked in on a busy Saturday. Guy came over owner? Manager? And asked us if we had a reservation which we said no. He than stated rudely that it was going to be awhile and walked by or party and slammed the door shut. It was a cold day out. We then decided to go elsewhere and started to walk out. He than came over and said something again very rudely about our table was being prepared. This blonde haired balding dick was rude because we did not have a reservation to his pretentious establishment and I don't care what Jack Nicholson says. I'll take my business elsewhere read more

More Perreca's Cafe is sadly disappointing. As part of Perreca's Bakery (which offers great bread!) I was excited to try their coal fired pizza. Unfortunately, the expertise from the bakery has failed to transfer next door! For some unknown reason, they have decided to use a pre-made pizza crust that came from a bag. It tasted like a frozen pizza. No rising crust, and they charge $19 and change for this. Hmf? Will not return until they make the effort to use real dough. read more

We ordered the Thanksgiving dinner from Perreca's for the second year in a row, everything was great. We drove down to pick it up and we didn't have to do a thing, they loaded everything right in the car for us. We were down there today purchasing food from the deli and complimented them on how polite everyone was when picking up our Thanksgiving dinner. Overall the food and service was great. I must say I am always tentative going out to eat since I usually eat out alone while enjoying a book. My waitress, Elizabeth, was so kind. She made me feel comfortable as I sat on their outside patio enjoying the beautiful ambiance. She brought my tomato pie panini out quickly and asked me about the book I was reading. Everything was amazing! I've been three times since September and I still rave about this place to anyone who'll listen. The house made marinara is possibly the best on the planet, and the meatballs are a MUST! Yelp led us to this place and we are forever grateful. Manager is this weird rude Greek guy pretending to be authentically Italian. Don't trust reviews saying the is the "best Italian in Schenectady" they are planted. It's boxed pasta in week sauces that border on spoiled. Freshest plate you will get is salad. Total waste of money and time there are plenty of better places to spend on. read more

Our favorite restaurant when visiting the Capital Region. We really like the bakery next door too. A real treat for us is the coal-fired brick oven pizzas because you can literally choose anything you want on top and the nutty taste of the crust is very unique. read more

My friend ordered the sorrentina, which was chicken and eggplant. She loved the dish and it was enormous, I did not sample it but it looked great. This is just a run of the mill average Italian spot. The parm cheese offered for the dishes was a flavorless shaker brought to the table. If you're looking to be impressed, maybe not the best spot, but if you're looking for a quiet dinner to catch up with a friend, why not!
