We took our laptop to More Than a Fix in San Clemente and James went above and beyond trying everything possible to retrieve our data. Although only 8GB of data were retrieved out of 250GB, we felt that they did their best and tried everything to retrieve our data. James also made recommendations for other things to try. I used a non apple charger which ended up frying 2 MacBooks. I went to another shop first (not more than a fix) and they were only able to fix one which was replacing the battery and the port. They said they other one can't be fixed. I ended up calling more than a fix and I so wish I went there to begin with! James Gallagher rebuilt the board, replaced a fan and the battery for a very reasonable price. My only regret is just not going to More than a fix from the beginning. I dropped my iPhone XS Max and broke my front screen last evening and requested a quote for repairs before going to bed. By 8:00am this morning I had a reply from the owner Guy. Unfortunately with these newer generations of iPhones a cracked front glass requires replacement of the OLED screen. Guy repaired the front screen and installed a screen protector for me for $240 in less than 30minutes. I believe apple quoted $325 if you don't have AppleCare (protect your devices guys!) Dropped (although it looked more like it was launched as i watched it happen in slow motion) my 3 week old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and was looking through reviews to find a place. I can't say enough great things about my recent experience with this business and highly recommend it to anyone who is having any computer/electrical issues. I've had my Macbook Air since 2010 and I have to say that I love Apple products because of their durability and effectiveness, even after all of these years. A few weeks ago, due to my own stupidity I'll admit, I spilled some cleaning fluid on my laptop and while it still worked, it was typing only strange characters. My first thought was to take it to the Apple Genius Bar and after they ran some tests, they told me that a few keys had shorted out and there was no way to repair it and that I would have to buy a new laptop. I was pretty bummed, due to my stupidity, and how much it looked like it was going to cost me. I thought I'd at least look at a second opinion and found this business online right in San Clemente where I live. I contacted them through Yelp and heard back right away. I brought in my computer and after a few minutes of looking at it, they told me that they could fix it for under $200, but would of course look to see if there may have been more issues. Well, about a week later, my computer was fixed perfectly and they found no additional issues beyond their initial inspection. I love their honest, excellent customer service and will be coming here first for any future issues and recommend anyone else to do the same! read more
