Well my truck hit almost 100K miles and during my oil change appointment the dealership recommended some maintenance. Those totaled over $1000 so I told them no thank you and immediately contacted Morgan. He gave me some recommendations at my mileage and we decided on the services to move forward with. He did a thorough inspection of my truck and some services that we thought might be needed, didn't need attention at this time. It turns out my belt and spark plugs were great so he recommended some services that he could do but weren't necessary and there was zero pressure to get done. The communication with the shop was fantastic throughout the process and the customer service & professionalism was outstanding as well. I moved to San Marcos, TX from out of state less than a month ago. Whenever you move to a new area, finding a good, honest auto mechanic can be an absolute crap shoot. Last week my car felt like it was struggling accelerating from 20-25 mph and then again going from 60-65 mph. I was overcome with the thought that it might be my transmission. I requested help from Yelp and Lacey from Morgan G Services reached out first, within a few minutes. After reading their reviews and briefly chatting with Lacey, I decided to take my car in a few days later. Lacey was very friendly and accommodating. I told her that I was really hoping that her Yelp reviews were legit. She assured me that her husband (Morgan) had worked on hundreds of transmissions and that if it came to that? They were more than capable of doing a great job, as reasonably as possible. I left my car there and said my prayers lol. A day and a half later she contacted me to tell me that they recommended that my transmission fluid should be changed, and that my transmission seemed to be in great shape otherwise. What I feared would cost several thousand dollars to repair, turned out to be a little over $100. I was elated. One that I wasn't going yo need to have my transmission rebuilt, and two that I truly had been blessed to find an honest, knowledgeable and financially reasonable minutes from my new home. "I cannot recommend Morgan's Automotive. I paid $350 for rear rotors and pads on my Nissan Altima, only to find out later they were never replaced. I have kept the old rotors as proof of this. I also paid $129 for an alignment on that same Altima which was actually never performed, and $1.200 for an A/C compressor on a Scion tC, which also did not work when I left his shop. I trusted this business with my safety and my money after my home had been struck by lightning, and I was physically sick, and had no place to do the work I could do, so I went to Morgan's Automotive, unfortunately, the work I paid for was not done at all, and work that was done was not done properly. Prospective customers should be very cautious and verify all work performed. So, my Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors died on me and It's not cheap to replace them. I took it to the dealership and of course it wasn't covered by extended warranty. They quoted me 800 bucks for the repair. I had done business with Morgan G Services prior to this so I started talking to them and they quoted me right at 600 dollars for the repair. To everyone's surprise, that dreaded tire warning light remained on and I could not pass inspection. Cale, the tire guy dug deeper into it and discovered the new sensors were not communicating with the Radio Module and I needed a key fob to make it all work. That wasn't cheap either but I really didn't have a choice. It's worth noting that this problem only occurs for 2-3 percent of the TMPS failures. They figured it out in a morning. It's an extremely complicated process to track this problem down. When I queried the dealership again, the computer analyzer reported that the onboard computer wasn't working and they would replace it for $3000.00 Nope. Typical dealership bait and switch. The folks at Morgan had correctly diagnosed the problem with the radio module and made the repairs. They were honest, fairly quick and were not interested in soaking me for three grand for a new computer. These guys are good. Maybe a bit out of the way, but well worth the slightly longer drive. You have no idea how comforting it is to NOT see that blinking fracking light on my dashboard. Thanks folks. read more

I found this business by accident while using Yelp to request a quote for labor on a brake job for my 2015 Mustang GT. I didn't realize Yelp would blast my request to multiple businesses but I'm surprisingly pleased because I got several quotes within minutes, as well as some messages from businesses stating they wouldn't do the work unless I bought the parts from them. That is a non starter because I hand select my parts for the specific application. I had a couple of businesses try to quote me a diagnostic fee, even though no diagnosis was required; I wanted a very specific service and wanted to know the specific price. A few other shops got back to me with reasonable quotes but needed 3 or 4 days lead time. Lacey from Morgan G Services reached out with a reasonable quote, and let me know they could get me in today. That was good enough for me to drive the 25 minutes to Kyle. When I arrived, I met Morgan and we started discussing the job, as well as the parts I was using, and I was pleased with how friendly, knowledgeable and professional Morgan is. He showed me around the (very clean) shop, and we discussed some other projects I am considering, and he gave me his input on the production materials of various parts based on what I was looking to do. I felt like we really hit it off and he was shooting straight with me right from the start. Once he got started I met his wife Lacey and she told me a little bit about their business, and making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. During the job, Morgan kept me updated and texted me some pics of the work, as well as informing me that the rears didn't need to be replaced. I came in there prepared to do both ends, and he could have done them, got paid for the labor and I never would have known unless I asked to save the old parts. This cut my labor cost in half for what was already a very fairly priced job, and it demonstrated that they respect my time and money. This is HUGE. On the drive home, braking was flawless and silent, the way I like it. I've got some upcoming work, shocks, clutch, wear and tear type stuff and I will be bringing it back to Morgan G. As long as I am in the Austin area, this will be my go-too shop for auto repair, and I highly recommend them. If you have any trouble finding the place, Lacey will guide you to the door.
