With casal but quality service and a diverse menu, we find something for everyone during the Sunday brunch rush. Parking lot out front. Emmy's Pancake House is located in a strip center on the western end of Avon, Indiana a couple of storefronts away from Rural King. This is a breakfast/brunch/lunch joint that has a bit more of an expanded menu for lunch than one might expect. I arrived about 10:30 am on a Saturday. The crowd was definitely healthy, though there were tables available in the rather large dining room. There are accessible parking spots pretty much directly in front. The double-sided glass doors were pretty manageable. The sidewalk does have curb cuts. As you enter, you'll arrive at the hosting area. By the time I left, I noticed there were some folks waiting. They do also offer carry-out. The menu consists of traditional breakfast options like pancakes, waffles, french toast, omelets, eggs, skillets, benedicts, crepes, and quite a bit more. They also have salads, sandwiches, burgers, melts, charbroiled chicken, and a kids menu. The seating seems to be primarily either tables or table/booth combos. The interior has a warm design with the use of lots of wood. On the wall where I sat, there were quite a few photos of employees. My server, whose name I didn't catch, arrived pretty quickly. I'd already had the chance to check the menu, though I was fairly clear on what I was wanting. I ordered a 1/2-order of french toast and a side of hash browns along with my usual unsweetened iced tea. The meal came in at just over $17 without tip. I will admit it seemed a tad steep for a 1/2-order that wasn't really decadent in anyway. However, I enjoyed the meal quite a bit - the hash browns were made crispy at my request. I did have to wait a bit long for an iced tea refill (it ended up being given to go). However, that's a fairly minor quibble. Employees were friendly, the atmosphere was warm, and the food was good. As noted, the price was a bit steep for the amount given. However, I was overall quite pleased and would easily return when I'm in the area. I will also note the atmosphere was a bit loud for my taste. I've been using breakfast for some down time before heading out to continue working on cleaning out my recently passed father's home. While I enjoyed my meal, this wasn't what I'd call relaxing due to surrounding noise. This is a very solid 4-star experience for me. My minor quibbles would keep me from considering a 5th star, however, this was good in just about every way. So, 4 stars it is. read more

Unfortunately we were running late from rest of the group but the server seemed unphased and friendly about it- even seeming to rush our orders to be timed with the group w/o us asking. It was a Sunday early afternoon and I was craving Eggs Benedict. I have not had them since before covid. I ordered Benedict with hashbrowns, and an ice tea. The order came out quick and it was delicious. I then had a craving for a Belgium waffles it came out perfect as well. Everything was so delicious The waitresses was very attentive. The reason for the 4 starts was because as I was finishing my breakfast one of the staff members was sweeping the table behind me, in front of me, and to the side of me. This was a hidden gem, a friend of mine who lives in Avon didn't even know about. It's only a few minutes from her house so she said she definitely be making her way back. It is definitely an old school pancake house and what looks like it used to be a Chinese buffet restaurant Building at least. The menu was pretty extensive. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all times of the day. It has a party room to the right when you come in a large center area with tables and then another side with booth to the left. We definitely wanted to try the pancakes since they were in the name I ordered an omelette the country omelette, and changed out the green peppers for mushrooms, and the waitress was really accommodating about that, I also had my hashbrowns slightly crisp. My friend also ordered an omelette with hashbrowns. We each ordered a pancake mine. I had blueberries, put in it and on top they came with my breakfast. There is an additional surcharge that I didn't know about it and wasn't told to add the blueberries of $1.49. The waitress took this charge off the bill because she hadn't warned me about it before hand. The omelettes were delicious. They were light and fluffy and airy and the sausage gravy on the top was just enough and not drowning the other food. It was delicious. the pancakes were not. they were a little overdone so they were not light and airy. they didn't have a lot of flavor, except for the blueberry compote that was on top. Emmy's is one of my favorite top 2 breakfast spots. Located in Avon off of Rockville Road/U.S. 36 in the same strip center as Rural King (Beechwood Center). The strip center provides an abundance of parking. The line moves quickly and they do a great job clearing tables. Even if folks are standing outside, check the waitlist since often it's only 15 minutes. They take names at the left end of the counter and hand out pagers while checks are paid to the right of the counter. The menu covers all the standard breakfast categories, including benedicts, and many excellent lunch options. Biscuits and Gravy is my favorite along with the skillets and omelettes. Many of the entrees are served with 2 sides with hashbrowns, pancakes, toast or biscuits. Waffles, Crepes and French Toast are another good option for those wanting sweet options. Lunch options include healthy choices, burgers, salads and sandwiches and more. A children's menu is available for those 12 and under. Food arrives quickly and the servers typically take great care of us. Occasionally, if they are packed we might have to ask for more coffee but seldom. Set in a strip mall, the decor is eclectic -neon signs and a hodge podge of Knick knacks. This is a typical diner fare menu EXCEPT they had smoked sausage as an option for meats. It was cooked perfectly. The pancakes were very fluffy. The pecan banana pancakes were a hot with the group. There is a steady stream of traffic with periods of waits, but not too long.
