Great food, great ambience , great service and good prices what is that but I did walk out

I was really excited to go to Morgan's today as I used to frequent the old location quite a bit. I was really impressed with the new location. The aesthetic is beautiful and gives ultimate brunch vibes. My friend and I ordered a few entrees and sides to share since we were really there to catch up more than to eat. We shared the stuffed French toast, which was delicious along with a veggie omelette, which was humongous and came with a side of potatoes and toast. Of course it wouldn't be a girl brunch without a Caesar salad and fries, and I will reiterate that the portions were out of this world; we literally had so much food left over to take home. Morgans has a sultry atmosphere in the back area. It gives speakeasy/ retro diner vibes overall with a personal smooth touch. You have to see it to fully understand. Just feels nice. The food was and beverages were fresh to order and delicious. I went with a large group and buy large I mean a party of over 10 to 15. On this Friday night we had one server trying to accommodate all of us. He did his best and I didn't hear any complaints from my many companions. Back to the food. The portion sizes for the meals are just perfect. Not too much that you'd get stuffed yet not on the lighter side. Most of the ladies ordered sangria, champagne or wine. All of those options were in light and refreshing flavors. I ordered the salsa verde gnocchi with a side of sautéed spinach. They both were prepared well, not overly saturated with oil or sauce. Someone next to me ordered a fish and two others at my table ordered burgers with a side salad. Those portions were all decent. I couldn't see what the other 10 women ordered but like I said, I heard no complaints. Parking is a bit of a hassle depending on the timing. There was a parking lot free of charge in the back and street parking which is done by the pay by phone app. Of course the back parking is usually full, but you may get lucky and find a spot. Besides the lot, as I mentioned earlier, there's plenty of street parking and it's adjacent to the restaurant. You may have to walk a bit if they or the nearby establishments are busy. Bonus, kids 11 and under eat free, they do offer brunch and every day is happy hour. However, happy hour is not for large groups so we were not able to utilize that offer. *Note don't get lost. Their restaurant moved and I ended up going to the wrong location before I found the new one. It is not too far away from the original restaurant just an inconvenience. I'm torn between a 3 or 4 star. It's honestly right in the middle. But there's some things that bother me, especially about restaurants in Wynwood / Miami in general. 1. Overpriced. Not even a little. VERY overpriced. I get that they're "organic" which literally means nothing in 2023, but okay. Not to mention, the menu is literally the same as every single other brunch spot. But 20+ for a chicken and waffles? 18+ for an omelette?!?! Why... it's literally eggs. The barest minimum for a breakfast. 2. The design of the restaurant is a maze and a mess. I should not need to have a map to find my table. (The upstairs) 3. The downstairs was DIRTY. Not like a little messy. Dirty. Napkins all over the floor, and like five employees standing right by it just having a conversation. So I'm paying a ton, for basic IHOP food in cute bowls and a dirty lobby with relatively slow service due to it being brunch time? Overall it's okay. Nothing was overwhelmingly bad, but it doesn't stick out from the 100+ brunch places in Miami. read more

Absolutely will bring friends here! The decor is cool, it's like someone's house. Service was very good. The food was excellent. Started off strong with the Mac and cheese with egg, and the cornbread. Must gets. The chia lemonade was nice. We also got the grilled cheese - it was alright. I got the eggs Benedict burger - the egg was overcooked, but otherwise it was fine. The potatoes were good. Friends got the egg white omelette and English breakfast with 2 sides of bacon. One of my best friends recommended that I should try Morgan's restaurant next time I'm in downtown Miami. After leaving the Balloon Museum, my cousin and I decided to try Morgans. It's recommended to do a reservation online ahead of time. As soon as you wall in, you are greeted by the friendly hostess, who takes you to your table at your reserve time. This restaurant has a rustic vintage chic appeal to it. There were multiple forms of art displayed while soft music played in the background. Our waiter was very friendly and helped us navigate through the menu. We ordered the strawberry lemonade and iced chai as drinks. We then ordered the frittata with hash spuds and the egg white omelette that came with hash spuds. The portion sizes of this restaurant are huge! The food is amazing and perfectly cooked; I'm in love with their hash fuzz, which are thick pieces of potatoes fried to perfection. Needless to say I have leftovers for breakfast the next day lol. I cannot wait to come back and try more from Morgan's, especially their lunch menu. read more

We came here for brunch with a large group and we absolutely loved it. The staff was so helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. As for brunch dishes, I tried the frittata. It was a mix of vegetables (mushrooms, onions, peppers) and chorizo served with a salad on top. It was such a huge serving. I couldn't finish it! I'm having breakfast on a Friday morning. What a fabulous place to get the day going. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, good music overhead (not loud, just chilling the place out) my server was awesome and wow! the food was on point. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It was massive and I eventually asked my server to take it away from me so I would stop eating. This is my first experience here, I will definitely visit Morgan's on my next visit. We walked in here yesterday as a group of 6 and were easily accommodated ! The menu has a diverse selection!! I got the fish tacos which were great and the portions were huge!! I did order the spearmint matcha which I do not recommend unless you love spearmint flavored gum. But I appreciate our waiter swapping my matcha for a regular one and being able to accommodate us with a reservation! The ambiance was nice too! A cute brunch spot to enjoy. While the outside porch looks that it is always full, they have spaces to sit down upstairs and even have cute rooms for large groups. I ordered egg's benedict with salmon. While I agree with what others said that the servings are huge, I was able to finish the entire plate. It was good IMO. My boyfriend got the Fried Chicken, Biscuits and Gravy, I had a bite and it was honestly just okay. The gravy had a weird after taste. We also ordered the chocolate dipped waffle and although it was good... just a heads-up, it's NOT a chocolate dipped waffle it was more like filled and topped. Came for lunch on a weekday! We sat outside on the porch and got salads and soups (bizarre choices for a brunch place, but I was feeling sort of oily and not my best lol). The salad was enormous and an amazing value for $18 actually - fed two people easily. Could have fed three possibly depending on how much people eat. Lemonade was good, service was super friendly. I would definitely return and make sure I get one of their brunch classics, but for a first visit, this was a great start. Note to people driving - they have a parking lot, but I bet it gets crazy on weekends. read more

I went there for carry out lunch. Ordered two cheeseburgers with fries to go. I paid $38 plus a good tip just to find out. All we got was the burger. Although it was good. We did not get fries. For $18 a piece plus tax and only get your burger is like theft in my opinion. Not great. read more

**5 Stars** I can't say enough good things about Morgan's! The service was so amazing that I found myself coming back three days in a row. Their vegan waffles are absolutely to die for, and if you're unsure of what to get, I highly recommend the waffles or the avocado toast for breakfast or brunch. The space is adorable and beautifully decorated, with comfortable seating and a lovely, welcoming energy. It was never too crowded, making each visit incredibly enjoyable. Came here on a Sunday for Brunch with a girlfriend. We arrived around 12:30pm and were seated at 1:20pm. They didn't work based on reservations but first come first serve. We tried: Mascarpone & Raspberry stuffed French toast Fried chicken, Biscuits and Gravy Over easy egg with hollandaise sauce ( side order) Strawberry Lemonade The French toast was perfectly sweet and tangy. The mascarpone was a lovely compliment. The "fried chicken" was a fried chicken tender FYI. I was glad when my waiter let me know ahead of time. It was perfectly fried but the meat (not the batter) lacked seasoning. The biscuit was huge and moist. The strawberry lemonade was diabetes in a cup lol it reminded me of what I like to call "black lemonade" super sweet but sooo delicious! I watered it down because I wanna live a longer life lol. OVERALL: Good food, average drinks, poor service. RESERVATION: We came in with a larger group as a special treat for coming to visit our friends in Miami. Our friend made a reservation for us online, but the front claimed that we didn't have one. After a little bit, they said that they'd honor it and seat us. We watched them prep a table that would fit us (we were first in their line at this point), and they just... didn't seat us. Eventually one of our friends basically just said "is this our table? Can we sit?" And they shrugged and let us. SERVICE: I get that Sunday was prime brunch time and that we were a big table, but our server never introduced themselves, was super distracted, and was super hard to find. Drinks came scattered and we didn't get water refills on a hot Miami day until almost the end of the meal! FOOD: Food was pretty good, but not so good that I'd come out to this spot again, to be honest. Fried chicken is good but not mind blowing. Stuffed French toast was good. Better service and better drinks would make it worth it. DRINKS: Strawberry lemonade was okay. Cold brew tasted weird and came out super late. Vietnamese iced coffee was just iced coffee with condensed milk - it didn't taste like it was Vietnamese espresso. Sangria was like sugar water, which sucked given the price of the pitcher. While visiting Miami I met up with a friend of mine who brought me to this place for brunch on a Saturday. 12:30 and almost all the tables were full. We chose to sit outside. They have fans blowing at each table. My wife ordered the French toast and finished before me which rarely happens. She said it was extremely delicious and I must agree after I tasted a piece. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles were a little cold but the chicken breast was piping hot. This was a pretty good dish but I wish the waffle was hot. My friend ordered the chicken and Biscuits but it was too big to finish. He enjoyed this restaurant as did I. I would have given them 5 stars if my waiter didn't disappear often. Morgan's is a strange place- the location and attached parking lot are probably it's best attributes. The service here is ungodly slow. Not sure if it's bc of the southern style or what but I've been multiple times (including being 1 of only 2 tables at lunch) and have waited astronomically each time. The food choice and variety here is amazing- I was delighted to see things like chicken pot pie and beignets on the menu. However, sadly all food here strangely bland and does not taste like it's made with complex flavors or quality ingredients. The portions are HUGE but so is the price. The food was fantastic! We were a table of 12 and every single person loved their food! We tried each other's plates and everything was fantastic!! Meatloaf was delicious with the most amazing gravy! The shrimp and grits was perfect, the grits were tasty and everything seasoned perfectly. The burger was also on point. The chicken and waffle did not disappoint! My party order the burrito and potatoes. I was able to try the potatoes and they were excellent. The matcha tea had a very strong aroma, I was really impressed by the flavor. Excellent! We just moved here and Morgan's I can tell is going to be our spot. I love a good brunch. Starting off strong with a orange juice mimosa, good portions, not overly sweet. The right amount of buzz. I ordered the salmon benne, it was one of the best bennies I've had. So good, so balanced. Crispy potatoes on the side. Side of avocado. Perfect. Boyfriend got the French toast, again one of the best FT. amazing. He ordered it again the Second time we came back. Lastly the frittata, so hardy and clean. I felt very healthy while I watched my man eat delicious French toast. The line was long but we moved fast and were seated promptly. Waiter came quickly and so did the food. To my surprise, yes! They have more seating to go with the same awesome food and terrific service! I love Miami because it is a real melting pot of cultures. FOOD Chicken and Waffles: the chicken had no flavor? It was definitely lacking salt. But it was well fried and it was a big portion (rare for the area tbh) Corn bread: such a big heap for the price! Probably my favorite thing we got Omelette: also lacking flavor/salt but was a hefty portion. SERVICE Although we were waiting in line to be helped, if you were rude enough to just cut the entire line, you'd be helped first with no questions asked. It was extremely frustrating. The pushier people here will be helped first and get the better seat and service. We arrived early for a Sunday brunch and it wasn't busy at all to my surprise. The price for food is a bit high up there but they give you huge portions. Overpriced - all items start at $16 and expect $20+ for most regular items. I've got chicken salad sandwich in the past and it was pretty good but lacking flavor - could use more fruits, maybe something like grapes, in the mix This time I got New York Deli sandwich (it's a bacon egg and cheese). I've spent plenty of time in NY and know that this should cost HALF of what it does, but is TWICE as good. Also ruined with the amount of cheap plastic cheese they put on this sandwich. Basically if you want an expensive brunch spot then it's okay, portions are good I will admit (rarely parking available). I was hoping for something more down to earth since it's so local and convenient for myself and friends to make a favorite of ours - but I'm not won over. Best of luck read more

I have not been here for donkey's years, so why not brunch with a friend? Spoiler alert ... they are very busy on Sunday brunch. Our reservation helped us get seated quickly - or is it that we seemed to be the only people over 50? This is difficult to review. The place was very crowded, very loud - too loud - but diners were having a good time. I think because of the crowd, the service was very slow from start to finish. Wine took much too long to arrive. Bagels were not delivered with the salmon plate. The women next to us did not use one of their take-home boxes and kindly shared, so I did not have to wait for that, too. The server, however, was very nice. The food - excellent. I recommend the smoked salmon platter - a good portion of smoked salmon. A large bagel (when it came) Ask to get it double toasted, it was just heated. Lots of capers, olives, arugula, and enough cream cheese. I had wanted the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy - go early if you want that, it was sold out. Apparently they only make so many biscuits. And the menu ... if you are averse to qr codes, go prepared knowing what you want - no hard copy menus. And I recommend they refresh or removed the dried flowers on the table. read more

This little hidden gem, was beyond delicious! Went here on a spontaneous brunch with a friend and everything went got was beyond delicious. The French toast was the perfect consistency and amount of cinnamon. The food was so good I even tried my friends. Her omelette and potatoes were so yummy! We paired our breakfast with a pitcher of sangria, and just to say that we drank it ALL. The blandest Mac n cheese and fried chicken which was actually just frozen chicken tenders.. not to mention the location is horrible and this spot used to be a laundry mat, a restaurant that's been there for 40 years and apartments on the top and they kicked all those people out with a months notice leaving locals without jobs but so you can put this restaurant with no flavor and overpriced ihop food in a neighborhood where it simply does not belong from an owner that isn't even from here.
