I don't even know where to start because this was indeed A HIDDEN GEM. As a chef, I am real picky about doors and literally everything tasted was chefs kiss. What I really admitted about this place is the owner walking around communicating with everyone and checking to see if everything was going ok!! She was really sweet. Also shoutout to our server Noah who was awesome and funny. Not only was he gents or he also recommended! For it to be a carpeted space, it was very clean on the inside and smelled really fresh. The smell of food hit me before I even got inside. The seats were comfortable and they even had bar searing as well as an event space room. The food really deserves its own review but I can't leave two . Everything I would get again no questions asked! I ordered a double breakfast smash burger, which I was really looking forward to with its blend of beef and breakfast sausage topped with an egg. However, from the jump it was an extremely salty bite. So much so that the sharp taste of salt was stuck in the back of my throat for the whole meal. The waitress was stellar, and offered me more of the smokey, tangy glaze to offset some of the straight as(salt) on my senses, which helped slightly, but didn't make the burger much more bearable. The texture of the burger itself is more breakfast sausage, with a rubbery feel, than a fall-apart smash burger, but I think that works in its favor given the breakfast context. That being said, I still ate the whole thing, and may regret it given the feeling in my stomach, but I really look forward to coming back to try a normal smash burger. The fries were exceptional, a nice mix of crunchy texture and natural potato flavor, and to my surprise not at all too salty. I had a side of ranch, which, although watery, tasted great, close to Wingstop ranch in fact, and also some chipotle ranch, which tasted like they mixed some chipotle distillate with ranch, although may have forgotten sugar, spice, and anything extra to allow those flavors to meld together. It's pretty low lighting so I couldn't get a Yelp-worthy photo of the food, although I enjoyed the atomsphere for its laid back vibe and Indiana pride. But the food is why you read these reviews, and the three stars are for the lackluster experience on that front. One other thing to note is the price- really great value for what you're paying. $10.50 for a smash burger and fries? Fire. I really hope the next experience is better so I can feel a little less salty about this one (see what I did there?) read more

We had to travel to Ft. Wayne from the Dayton Ohio area to pick up a dog my wife purchased. Being a born and raised Hoosier, my Buckeye wife suggested that we find a local restaurant that served tenderloins. After a quick search I ran across Morgan's, which was close to our destination. We both were blown away by the food, the very efficient and friendly staff, and owners and especially our waitress, Alyssa ( Who was awesome) and the beyond reasonable prices. My wife had the shrimp Po' Boy, which she said it was as good if not better than her favorite she had eaten in New Orleans. I had the Breaded tenderloin, it was great size ( not the classic big as a hubcap tenderloin, but that's what made this great) and perfect thickness, they do all the meat prep on site, one of the best I have ever had. In addition to this, we had the fried mushrooms, we never had any this big and were delicious and I had to try the pork rinds, once again awesome. We could have easily made a meal for the two us on the appetizers alone. I know it is a long review, but just a few words aren't enough to say how good Morgan's is, and we plan on making a trip back soon. Great job guys! read more

Food: Morgan's is known for their smash burgers, so I gave the Black Snake a shot! The jalapeños promised heat, but it was more of a gentle kick. The cheese curds tho were BOMB. Crispy, melty, and YUMMY. Service/Ambiance: The staff was friendly and greeted me right away. They let me sit wherever I wanted. Overall ambiance is very laid back, definitely divey. First off, staff don't treat you as simply another customer, they treat you like you're a lifelong friend stopping in for the umpteenth time!! Extraordinary service, totally committed to your experience being the best!! The (hand~breaded) mushrooms and pickle chips were melt~in~your mouth PERFECT! The homemade horseradish sauce and ranch dressing provided the most delicious combination! Our dinners, three delectable tenderloin sandwich platters and one perfectly prepared burger filled us all to just this side of all having to loosen our belts! I don't even know where to start...this place is amazing and I can't believe it took us this long to give it a shot! The servers and bartenders are so attentive and took the time to walk us through the menu and make recommendations - all of which were spot on. The restaurant itself is a love child between a dive bar and a family restaurant with live music and some pretty impressive made-to-order cocktails. We had to go with the smashburgers, the thing they're known for, and we weren't disappointed! Do yourself a favor and get the extra patty and swap the American for pepper jack if you like a little spice. The burgers are super fresh and come with fries that you can tell are homemade. The onion rings are sliced thin, lightly breaded and served with any dipping sauce you'd like (get the horseradish sauce and thank me later). Stopped in yesterday and was greeted by the most friendly and fun waitress. Appetizer of breaded pickles did not disappoint. They were perfectly battered, and pipping hot. I ordered the Black snack hamburger, which was amazing! Thank you to our local servicemen for getting this on the menu. Finding an eatery for lunch near the Ft. Wayne airport proved to be a challenge. This low light dive bar atmosphere proved to be a real gem. If you're looking for a local dive this is the place. They have a great selection of bar food. I like that they have no problem doing their smash burgers ala carte. There aren't many locals who do that. Definitely has a dive bar atmosphere but every employee we encountered was very nice. The people dining were more middle aged to senior. Sorry i didn't take pictures. I was starving, and when the food hit the table, it looked & smelled so good, i just dove in and devoured it like a rabid dog. Honestly, it's amazing that i even tasted it. But anyway, this was a drive-by shot in the dark after we had just dropped some friends off at the airport and passed it by. I was teetering on "hangry," so we just pulled in and took the chance. Im glad we did because we really enjoyed it. The place is nicer inside than we expected it to be, The staff was friendly and efficient, the beer list was versatile (not just a bunch of IPA's), and they have a nice basic menu of staple foods with a few unique twists. But the best part was the food itself. She ordered the BLT salad with avocado, and after consideration of my level of hunger, the server suggested a two patty burger, upon which i got bacon and cheese with all the trimmings but the mayo. The salad was fresh, big and hardy. The burger was nicely seasoned, well stacked, and full of juicy deliciousness. And the fries were dynamite. I have been here three times now and will go back. My first time there i had the breaded tenderloin. It is nicely breaded and cooked, juicy and not overdone. The big surprise is their made from scratch fries. Its been many years since i have had something like this. Full of flavor and yummy through and through. My second visit found me back in a different mood. I had just read a review singing the praises of their smashburger. I had to try it. I was not disappointed. Beautifully formed and cooked was the beginning of the deliciousness. I had the double patty with lettuce tomato and pickle and accompanied by their fresh fries i was not disappointed. The staff here is so very friendly. I immediately felt that i had some great friends. They shared with me about their Saturday night Karoake. I will do that soon. I kid you not, even the bun on that burger is something special. They bring it in from the outside specially made. It adds to the deliciousness. I tried their baked beans which has a flavorful kick and learned it was a family recipe. It seems family makes up a nice proportion of the staff. Some even sing in the Karaoke. In closing, i cannot recommend this place enough. If you leave hungry its your own fault. And you will enjoy friends here easily. read more
