I booked directly with them online for a new patient eye exam as they were one of the closer places to me that actually takes Davis Vision insurance. The place was pretty easy to find and they have a small parking lot in the back as well which was convenient as it had just snowed and street parking were pretty tough at the time. The office is actually on the second floor when the staff kindly directed me when I was at the first floor office and I had to wait maybe 5-10 minutes after my appointment time before the Dr was ready to see me. Mostly because they would reach out to check your insurance beforehand so that was very helpful to cut down the wait time. The whole exam went very smoothly and Dr. Hussoin was very patient in answering all my questions. I was out with my new prescription in hand in maybe 20-30 minutes. I would highly recommend her for all your optometry needs !

They told me my usual contacts were discontinued and found a new brand to try. The lenses they proposed were outdated and super uncomfortable but when I asked for other options they said there weren't. I know perfectly that there are other options so I requested my prescription and went to find other more competent doctors. But I needed to pay for a new eye exam fully out of pocket because my insurance already paid for their useless service. They just took my money and basically confirmed my old prescription and did absolutely nothing! They basically don't know what they arre doing! Immediately after putting the glasses on, I felt something's off and even got a headache after wearing it for only 10 minutes. The assistant didn't believe me and repeatedly said: "you couldn't really have a headache". We had an argument and he apologized (very insincerely). I went back the next day when the eye doc was in the store and told her how I felt. Again, she brushed me off and just said the lenses matched with the prescription that was made by her. I took her words and left, but basically never used the glasses the whole year because they are just wrong. Fast forward to last week, I couldn't take it anymore and had my eyesight retaken by another doctor and had him measured the glasses I got from Q Optical. Guess what? - The "doc" at Q Optical MIXED THE PRESCRIPTION OF MY TWO EYES! What a fking joke! Working with Christos was by far the best experience I have ever had. With other opticians I've found that they tend to just say "yes" to whatever you pick or to base their recommendations solely on style rather than paying attention also to fit and functionality. I inevitably left with glasses that never felt quite right or kept slipping down my face despite paying hundreds of dollars. Christos, on the other hand, is a true expert who knows how eyeglass frames should fit a face for maximum comfort and functionality while still working to find the best-looking frames for you out of his vast selection. After purchase, he is also meticulous about adjusting the frames for your face. Unlike other opticians, he actually has an opinion and can help you figure out how the frames ought to fit. And unlike most of the opticians I've purchased from in the past, he's genuinely skilled at adjusting frames and will really work with you and keep tweaking until the fit is *exactly* right. I had a bad experience here last year. First, I agree that Dr. Idrizovic gave me a sales pictch. I…read moreorginally saw another Dr, who was fine, but I was told I had to return to see Dr. I because she was a dry eye specialist. Not only was I kept waiting over an hour for this appointment, but my insurance didn't cover it so I had to pay for it. Dr. I recommended that I have a series of laser treatments at $250 each. AND she told me a horror story about how I could go blind if I didn't do it. Then, when my glasses came in the alignment or something was way off. I had it checked and redone redone twice. The lenses alone cost $650 because they were progressives with prism. (They were never right but I gave up.) When I told them I couldn't see well enough to drive wearing the glasses, they didn't believe me and said I just had to get used to progressives even though I explained that I had had progressives before. So, I had to return three times and wait a long time even though I had appointments. At the time, I wrote a negative review. The owner contacted me and asked me to take it down and he'd give me a free pair of prescription sunglasses lens. (I provided the frames.) I'm submitting this again because it's a year later and I went to another eye doctor. Now, after a good experience at Boston Vision, I know I was right to complain. Sure, prescriptions change, but I found out the contacts didn't even correct my astigmatism, which is the main reason I wear them, and the glasses were way off. Not only that, but no one tried to sell me any lasers or drops or eye masks. When it came to tests, they carefully explained my choices because some were included under my insurance and others weren't.
