Our daughters loved their cute chocolate and ice cream camp. That's so nice that they put these on during the summer and hope they'll have longer camps for parents nights out in the school year. Their chocolate is delicious and the kids enjoyed their unique Cookie Monster ice cream flavor. I have to say they probably have some of the best turtles I've ever had and I will have to go back to get some more soon. Their caramel apples and donuts are so good too. WELL, this place is just wonderful. Truly wonderful service and wonderful products. I had been tooling around online looking for a place that sells chocolate high heel shoes. Yes, you heard me right, I was looking for life-size high heel shoes made out of chocolate. Lemme splain: my friend is absolutely head-over-heels in love with shoes :) - no pun intended....Anyways, her birthday was coming up and I wanted to get her something super different and Morkes was a godsend in this search because of the chocolate high heels they make. So, I called up the place and talked to this SUUUPER helpful, friendly, and kind lady who made ordering these shoes super simple. First of all she had me wait on the phone while she double checked with the "shoe lady" if she would be able to satisfy my pretty last minute request. Not only that, but then she broke everything down, asking me what color glitter and what size shoe I wanted, what color bow for the shoe box I would prefer...etc. She was so on top of things and wonderful. She even called me back after I hung up because she had forgotten to ask me if I wanted the shoe to be milk, dark, or white chocolate! So nice!! The final product was beyond fantastic! Such a beautiful shoe! You couldn't even tell that it was all completely edible; it looked like a real shoe! - that's how amazing it looked. I will start this review off by saying OMG!!! I have never had a donut that tasted like the one from Morkes Chocolates. One of my coworkers at Blue Cross brought a few dozens into the office one day. A hidden gem! We found this place just while driving through town shortly after moving to the area and our children wanted to stop in for chocolate when we noticed they have donuts! Locally owned and operated. They have a different flavor every month along with their traditional flavors. June was lemon and July is Blueberry. Their donuts are super moist and not overly sweet. They literally melt in your mouth. The maple is my favorite but all the blueberry flavors are equally amazing. It was hard to choose. If you love a good donut, you're going to want to put this place on your list of places to try! read more

My son was turning 7 this weekend and wanted a donut cake so I yelped several places that made donuts. Morkes Chocolates popped up and had great reviews and Jane was extremely sweet and went above and beyond with helping us out. My son is probably the only kid that doesn't like chocolate or cake but enjoys donuts. My son wanted Pikachu and Pokéball decorated donuts and Jane came through with the WIN! They don't typically decorate donuts but she worked with us and made my son one happy kid! It was simple but creative. Not only did the donuts look good they tasted AMAZING! Stopped by for a sweet treat. The ladies in the front greeted me and were nice. The manager was awkward and made me feel uncomfortable. Not once did she say "hi" she just move around the store not really doing anything but glancing at me. I finally made a selection and was check out without any issues. My $9- candy apple wasn't anything to write home about I wasn't impressed at all. The pecan were finely chopped...pecan halves would be better to cut the sweetness of the candy apple. I've never actually been to Morkes, and that's a situation I should rectify. I've only experienced the nirvana that is their heavenly cake doughnuts. A quick little donut review... Really good!! So I know we've had a donut craze the past few years in Chicagoland. There are many places downtown etc that go over the top & give you very creative options to eat. People in the area also like Spunky Dunkers because it's better than Dunkin... Morkes does one thing and one thing only, a great cake donut! This is coming from a guy who doesn't really like cake donuts?! What...! Until now that is... Blueberry is the flavor of this month and mom loves blueberry BUT she never has liked a donut, basically too sweet or tastes like cheap oil (SpunkyD, Dunkin, etc). I pick up a 4 sampler from Morkes, BB plain, BB iced, and a couple others. I go home, put the plain BB on the table, and walk away... I come back an hour later and it's gone! Mom says "I ate the whole thing"! This is from someone who takes 1 bite of other said donuts and won't eat the rest. So why is this cake donut any different? The batter, it fries up to be a moist cake donut almost like a muffin texture. Really good! Clean oil, as in I can't taste it, like it should be. The sugar, I had 3 other iced or glazed donuts, excellent. All I can say is there is not a cheap sickly sweetness to these. It's like when you use a natural cane vs white refined to sweeten your tea, lol. The bottom line, just a better quality cake donut period! read more

I like chocolate but I don't craaaave chocolate. So for me, Morkes has as good of a chocolate as I've found anywhere. What really impresses me about Morkes though, is the variety of products they sell. They have donuts with a small eating area if you want to pop in for coffee and a donut. They have lots of varieties of chocolates that you'd typically find in boxes of chocolate. But they also have sinful stuff that you'd find only in specialty stores like chocolate covered peanut butter cups, chocolate covered double-stuffed Oreos, and double dipped malted milk balls. They have white, dark, milk and sugar free chocolate, and chocolate products with sea salt. They sell pieces of chocolate that you can melt down if you want to make your own creations. (It looks like they might even have these kinds of classes right there.) And if you want them to mold chocolate into a specific shape, they also offer custom chocolates. So if you have a sweet tooth, it's worth a visit because you will certainly find SOMETHING to satisfy it at this place! (By the way, I don't know how prices typically run for this stuff but 2 lbs of assorted chocolates was $50 and a box of 25 truffles was $40.) read more

I spent quite a bit of time at Morkes Chocolates because they make it impossible to make up you mind. Their display cabinets are packed full of some of the most delicious candies you may ever see. Nearly everything they offer has white, dark and milk chocolate variants. They offer a lot of sugar free candies too.... but come on..... sugar free? The candy at this place is so good, its worth the near deadly blood-sugar levels. Morkes' is not inexpensive but you definitely get what you pay for at this place. I recommend the silk, the cherry cordials, caramels and the toffee is a must to try. They have long strips of English toffee covered in different kinds of nuts. They are great. I am a firm supporter of good, old-fashioned customer service. Morkes Chocolates has just that to offer. I went to their Palatine shop to see if I could get any fun ideas for wedding favors. The woman who assisted me was SO helpful. She took the time to show me all of the great options. She even inspired a little creativity in me by asking questions about my husband and I and our interests so we could pick a chocolate mold that was all about us. (meanwhile, throughout this consultation, I'm drooling over their donuts and chocolates in the display windows!) I placed my order with them, and we picked everything up the week of the wedding. I LOVED the favors. They were so cute and creative. I liked the fact that I could order them in white, dark or milk chocolate because everyone's tastes are different. I'm basically eating myself through the store. This past Christmas I was gifted an assorted box, and loved every piece! Morkes breakfast toffee will change your life. Another chocolate you can't live without is their puppet (cashews or pecans, caramel and chocolate). OMG. I live for their caramel apples. They have a huge variety, and their caramel apple w nuts or pecans are incredible. I can't walk out without two in my bag. They make donuts fresh every day.
