Wrongful sale of my belongings despite payment attempt and communication…read moreThis review is for Public Storage - 8228 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236. On January 26, 2026, my storage unit was sold even though I made repeated attempts to communicate and make payment. I called multiple times that morning and left messages trying to find out the exact amount required to stop the sale. No one returned my calls. When I finally reached an employee named Chrissy, I was told my total balance was $1,000.48 and that they would accept a partial payment of $555.00 to stop the sale. I had the $555.00 available and agreed immediately. While attempting to process the payment, my bank showed a system error, which was later confirmed by my bank as an issue on their end -- not a lack of funds. We attempted the payment multiple times. I also tried using another bank card and successfully sent $1.00 to confirm that card worked, with the intention of immediately submitting the full $555.00 payment on that card. Despite these efforts, my belongings were still sold. On January 27th, I called again and begged them not to release my belongings to the buyer. My bank confirmed that the funds would be fully available on January 28th, less than 24 hours later. I explained this clearly and pleaded with them to wait. My unit contained irreplaceable personal items belonging to my deceased parents, which are the only things I have left of them. I would not refuse to pay knowing that. I was later told Public Storage gave me "two extra days," which is not true. My account had already been closed on the 27th, and my belongings had already been released to the buyer. The timeline does not support their statement. I did communicate. I did attempt to pay. I did everything I could under the circumstances. The lack of compassion, accountability, and honesty shown in this situation has been devastating. In my opinion, this was a wrongful sale, and no one should have to lose their parents' belongings this way.its not like i did have the money they can look on payments history they could have delayed the buyer but yet they lied and said they gave me truth extra days the day my things was sold was on the 26th i tryed to pay it it was a system problem on the bank end the 27th of january i talk to an manager that morning and told the promblem i beg him to hold the buyer up because they said the problem woud be fix the very next day which it was thats the 28th of jaunary i had the 555.00 ready to pay the next morning reguardless of how they do things they seen i was paying not lose my things i beg them and the 28th would have been the extra day they claimed they gave they seen i do pay so why not held that buyer off ...sometimes yall need to give people grace and not be so horrible and lieing on people because they did not give me that extra less then 24 hours

The value is great for the money you get 3 months of free rental on certain storage units. There's a truck you can use when you first move in for free I believe she told me within the first two weeks of moving in. Because it is a new facility there's not a lot of traffic when you come. I usually come during the week if I'm off and someone is here before they close at 5:00 if not I come on Saturdays before 1:00 before the person who works here is gone just because it's kind of creepy and if I do have to come while there's no one here working I usually bring somebody with me. Other than that it's a great location it's very convenient to where I live and like I said it's very clean. I forgot to mention that they do have flatbeds that you can use when you come also an app so that way you don't have to Fumble with the keypad you can just put the app on your phone and just scan it in front of keypad and it will let you in automatically without you having to remember your key code.

I did not order this container. A UNITS container showed up in front of my house. The person who described himself as the "Director of QC" (he had answered the phone) told me the unit was at a business maybe 15 miles from here. He refused to answer questions. I insisted that it be removed today. It blocked access to the mailboxes which are serviced from a truck. It blocked visibility from my driveway. Particularly dangerous today to block visibility on the road as it is Halloween and children will be walking and cars will be on the road. The box lacked reflective indicators. The box was finally removed a few minutes ago and "Billy Martin", director of QC, says it will be dropped off somewhere and returned to somewhere (would not divulge) next week when it's needed. Zero stars. The app requires one star.

The cost was comparable to the 2 other quotes I had received. On the day of the move, I ended up in the hospital, and with a few friends to direct the process in my absence, it really went off without a hitch!!!!!!! When it came time to deliver everything, they were efficient and careful with most things and nothing was broken in the process. there were 3 issues... 1) they could not get a couch out of the old apartment (Even though it was brought in) and they left it and I had to pay to dispose of it. 2 )When they unloaded everything unbeknownst to me a number of items were placed in the garage. (I am in a wheelchair and couldn't watch everything. I had to pay someone else to bring them in to the condo. 3 ) I spent $250 for $25,000 in additional insurance and after unpacking I realized the tub with an essential computer for my business was missing. The computer while valued at $800 was secondary to the files and records on it that were not all able to be backed up. When I tried to find out what happened they said they talked with the lead mover and they didnt know what happened to it. And because I was still sick from being in the hospital and couldn't unpack everything quickly, they said because it was 14 days later that I could not make a claim. While the move was accomplished and with relatively little trauma, I can not recommend Orly moving.

The entire process from getting an accurate quote, to the team showing up on time, taking care of the items (they did the packing up of my mom's stuff as it was too difficult for me), to moving items to their eventual place, was easy. I used a different mover (found on CraigsList) when I moved out of my home into my apartment and I ended up doing at least 1/2 of the work. For my mom's move I sent Liz pictures of what was in her room, the team showed up on time after calling me when they were a few minutes out, were kind, packed things with care, and made sure I understood the process. Frankly the bar is so low for this type of work, that it isn't hard to be disappointed (showing up on time? Charging what the quote reflected?). The local team is great. Payment was easy. They work their butts off. When I eventually move again, I will only use Orly.
