It's been a little difficult for me to find a place that will help me repair my classic cars... They were quite far for me to drive to, but I went to them after reading the reviews and browsing their website. I brought my 1981 Mercury Cougar XR7 for some cosmetics. I was nervous a bit to be honest cause I know some mechanics can be "rough" on treatment (like leave a scratch or dirty the interior, etc. When I arrived, comfort wasn't immediate, but as soon as I discussed with them as to what I needed done to the vehicle, I knew it was going to be in good hands. We are from the Washington DC area visiting with our daughter and son-in-law. An engine light came on our dashboard before we were scheduled to drive back to DC and a close friend of our daughter suggested Morris Automotive. What a great recommendation! Our auto needs were value, convenience, expertise, and trust - costs for emergency car repairs can be absolutely off the chart - an engine light can signal something as simple as a loose gas cap to major thermostat or transmission work. Being a military retiree I immediately shopped around and was surprised at the range of diagnostics for why the engine light was on - no clear answers - lots of guesses and boy what a range of potential expensive costs! About to give up when our daughter provided us with the Morris recommendation. We contacted Mr. Morris and he immediately made time for us - we went in and he provided us with information on the condition of our car, offered a quality vehicle inspection with an explanation of legitimate services and recommendations that were needed, realistic and competitive about pricing and he communicated with us exactly at the time he said he would. Just had a wonderful experience with Jeff at Morris Automotive! My engine light came on and the two other places I went to prior were not only impersonal but was quoting me 1-3hrs (with the possibility of leaving my vehicle the whole day) for a diagnostic service ($60), which I would have been willing to do. However, saw the great reviews for Morris Automotive and decided to check it out (glad I did!). Jeff was great, was able to run a quick diagnostic then and there and found the problem and fixed it within 10 minutes. He even took the time to explain what the issue was. Due to simplicity of the problem, he didn't even charge me! It's very clear he was not out to take advantage of the situation and charge you an exorbitant amount. He was professional, courteous and honest from start to finish. Will definitely go back!! read more

Took a leap of faith from Gogglers' suggestions and I am glad I did. My overall experience with Morris Automotive was fantastic. Jeff and his workers are all great people, they took great care of my 2006 Subaru Outback. The two times I went there they got my car back to me on the same day, even staying after-hours just to make sure they will keep their promise. Had a headlight out. Went to an auto parts store & guys wouldn't even help me select the right bulb....(foreign car). Popped in one Tuesday morning on a friends rec & asked if he could help. Luckily he had a bulb. Put it in right then & there and charged me a very reasonable price. He gave off s very trustworthy & reliable vibe.
