Vegan options are super limited to 1 dish. Veggie skillet with basicly just oil and nothing else on it (no egg etc). Do I mind? No I have ate TONS of breakfast places and had only veggies heated up honestly. I can name 6 places in orland, Bolingbrook, Naperville, Joliet, romeoville, I can eat just "veggie skillet no egg, no cheese" and it taste just fine. Ordered it and after few bites did not taste fresh, in fact tasted dry? And frozen. I got almost sick IMMEDIATELY. Mind you I paid " like "$20+" for this. For the first time, in a long time there was no line or wait time-we were seated right away. The issue lays in how long before the waitress took before even coming to the table. We watched a waitress' at other tables take orders, bring food and visit tables to check with their patrons, however none for our table. After 8 minutes as I was getting up to head to the hostess - a table porter caught my eye as I got up he started heading toward the kitchen. I got to the hostess to inquire if there was even a person assigned to our table and as the hostess looked over my shoulder toward our table a waitress was standing there. This was someone we had not seen going to and from other patrons tables. Makes me wonder if anyone had even told her people were seated in her section. The waitress was personable, however she did make errors in our order; Or she didn't check the food before bringing it out. Because we were pressed for time needing to get to our next destination we just ate and did not have her make adjustments. The breakfast was good nothing extra or special just okay. I've been periodically going to this restaurant for about 10 years. Food is decent the reason for the 2 stars is the extra costs they charge without notifying you. For example we dined in and I ordered a meal for my husband to go. After we eat I got the bill and they charged a take out service fee. Seriously. I'm eating at your restaurant but that's not good enough. You're gonna charge extra to have a take out meal. I appreciate the cost of everything has gone up and yes it was only a few dollars but to nickel and dime your customers is ridiculous. I'll be headed to a new breakfast place in the future. Feed me! That's their motto and they did! I ordered the patty melt and it came with pasta fagioli soup and fries. I order patty melts at almost every diner and sadly, this was a disappointment. It barely had any onions and the rye bread looked and tasted like sour dough bread. The hamburger was cooked perfect. The soup tasted canned. The highlight was the fries. They were cooked to perfection. My friend ordered grits, gluten free french toast with a generous amount of strawberries. She said it was delicious. The turkey patties were great. The grits were not. Caramel apple waffle was good but the apple ruined the experience. Every apple slice had core that was inedible leaving a very unappealing pile of apple that I had to pull out of my mouth after every bite. I was at Crispy Waffle on 12/16/25 - I met a friend at 12:30 for lunch. I recommended the place because my husband and I used to go there every Saturday Morning for years - before COVID hit. Unfortunately, my visit today was extremely disappointing. When I got the bill and realized that the price I paid for my meal was higher than what was on the menu - I asked the waitress about it and she said that it says on the menu, 'Prices are subject to change'. So, in other words, you have no idea what you will be paying for something because the menu is not correct. I also inquired about the 3.99% fee they added on because I ordered lunch to take home for my husband. She said that carry out fee information was on the menu. She did not offer to get the manager or anything, so when I went up the pay the bill, the girl at the register did get the manager or possibly the owner for me - this was at around 1:30pm. I told her that my husband and I frequented the restaurant in the past and that I was disappointed when I learned about the above issues. She had a smirk on her face and said that that's what inflation does and that both of those things were on the menu. I said, so I have no idea what I will be paying for my food when I order it? I told her it was ridiculous to charge that fee for carry out and that I had never been to another restaurant that did so. She had a snippy smirky smile on her face and was running her mouth back at me..... I said, "You know, you should have said something like, 'I am sorry that these things upset you, I can remove the carry out fee - or something to appease the customer." It's a pretty standard little breakfast place. Came here with a bunch of friends after a college class nearby and had brunch. It's a bit pricey in my opinion, and most of the breakfast menu is a la carte. So ordering stuffed french toast is just stuffed French toast. A side of just sausage links can cost you an additional $5, and most of the traditional breakfast sides are like that (hash browns, toast, bacon, etc). The food was very basic, not my cup of tea. The staff was very nice, and I thought the decorations for Christmas were cute. read more

I like my food well done they got it right my wife ordered a spartan omelette well-done with a side of fruit they got it right we took our pancakes that came with it whole week by the way to go for my grandson and they got everything right everything was good and the waitress Lisa was terrific. Perhaps my favorite part of breakfast at Crispy Waffle is their gluten-free pancakes! I always get a skillet with gluten-free waffles on the side instead of toast. I get the best of both worlds: savory AND sweet. Oh, and your coffee cup will never be empty! I leave with a caffeine high for sure. I'd recommend coming to Crispy Waffle if you live in the area and want a big menu to choose from. The servers have always been lightening-fast, accurate and sweet.
