Great food hasn't changed since I was a boy. The coffee is always fresh and the chocolate milk is the best I've ever had The service is really nice they have patience and they know what they're doing when taking an food order For the ambiance it's pretty good hasn't changed and that's what's good this is the only place that will never change and has great good both tables.

Such a good place for breakfast. Our waitress gave us good recommendations, was welcoming and ensure our cup never ran out of coffee. It is a lovely restaurant that makes you feel at home.

I'm in awe at how efficient they are at seating people. We're a family of four and walked in at 1030a on a very busy Sunday. Was quoted 10min for a table and my family was adamant about leaving based on how packed the waiting area was. Sure enough, in less than 10min we were seated. Had our drinks in a few minutes, and food a few minutes after that. The place was PACKED, but whoever runs the ship is a captain of immeasurable talent. Oh, and the food was AMAZING, as usual

1we were greeted as soon as we walked into the restaurant and sat down. Within the first minute, we were greeted with our server, who took our drink orders and shortly came back to take our meal. The food came out extremely fast, wasn't overly crowed, and was delicious. The Gypsy skillet comes w your choice of pancakes or toast and eggs how you would like. There was so much food I had to get a to-go container. We proceeded to the front of the location to pay and was greeted yet with another smiling face. A very welcoming restaurant.

Stuffed French Toast Special with Sweet cheese stuffing. Toppings are exceptional! CRISPY BACON and Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer.

My favorite breakfast spot!!!Food is delicious!!! I've had the French toast special which was amazing. Now I had the pumpkin roll French toast. I'm trying to get here weekly for this pumpkin roll French toast before it's all gone. Order this now and you won't regret it, trust me. It is sooo delicious. Everything on the menu is delicious.

Veggie Skillet w/scrambled eggs. No asparagus though but they loaded the veggies!!

1st time here! Ordered for pick up and they were so friendly and accommodating! Super fast from call in to pick up...15 MINUTES! Veggie Skillet with scrambled eggs no asparagus. Romeo omelet with homemade fries (hash browns) with peppers, onions and spices! LOTS of veggies in mine even though I opted out for asparagus! In the pic it looks less but I nearly forgot to take a picture....IT SMELLED FANTASTIC!! Definitely going back!

I returned to this restaurant to try one of their specialties, Cinnamon Apple Stuffed Pancakes. I went back a second time because the service was great. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. The service is quick. They were very busy my second trip, service was still quick and the server was very friendly. I didn't have this at my first visit because this dish takes 50 minutes to prepare. This was definitely worth returning for. I ordered the Junior size and it was the size of a 9 inch pie. It tasted like I was eating an apple pie. The restaurant has a huge menu including all flavors and toppings for the waffles, pancakes, French toast and crepes. They also have the standards for breakfast of eggs, potatoes (many types) bacon and sausage. For those watching their diet, they have low cal and a Healthy menu to choose from. They also serve lunch. This is a must try restaurant no matter what you want to eat. Note: if you decide to give the stuffed pancake a try, either bring your family to eat it all or be able to take it to go.

Tasty waffle is such an olden family breakfast place vibe which I loved since a lot of breakfast spots are so modern style. The service was so quick and so friendly. We loved it. The boyfriend and I ordered 2 waffles which were delicious. Crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Definitely worth checking this breakfast spot out whenever your in the area.

    Pastrami sandwich, moldy bread.
    Brenda R.

I came back to eat here with my family after a while of not going and it was not as good as it was last time. The bread on the pastrami sandwich tasted stale, dry. No sauce , no flavor just a ton of pastrami. Lifeless. Dull. The bread was starting to grow mold (picture included). The service was okay. Server doing the bare minimum. The soups were really good.

Large menu to choose from. Lots of sweet choices. The carrot cake waffle was very good. The biscuits and gravy were extremely rich and creamy. It was very crowded and our server was very good although very busy. The inside is a bit crowded with its table configuration.

BEWARE!!! Terrible service! Terrible food! No wonder there was no wait. Our server was Nate. He took our drink orders and brought them back but disappeared. He told us that he'd be right back but my husband had to go find him so he would take our food order. He had no problem taking the food orders of tables that arrived after us though. Once he finally came back to our table he had a major attitude. Cutting us off, speaking fast, ignoring us, rolling his eyes. Showing us that he did not want to be at the table. Someone else brought us our food and she was nice. But the food tasted horrible. We've had the Navajo and Gypsy skillet at Eggheadz in Tinley Park and they were amazing. Here, they were terrible. The Navajo skillet is loaded with onion, barely had any hash browns and the chicken tasted reheated, not fresh. Oh and the pancakes were so dry. When he came by our table to ask how everything was. I told him the food was pretty bad. He sat the check on the table and walked away. Terrible breakfast experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.

My hubby ordered a chicken sandwich that was just as good.. All of our food was very tasty and we really enjoyed it. Portions are generous so hopefully you're very hungry or be prepared to bring plenty home. I was only able to eat half of my food and brought the other half home and my sandwich seemed better the next day which isn't always the case when you bring things home!! Dark beadboard walls, copper ceiling tiles, round orb lighting, and upstairs a cavernous space with soaring ceilings anchored by a stunning skylight. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the area. Date night approved. One gripe before we get to the good stuff: if you have pages and pages of creative cocktails and an extensive wine list, your two mocktail options deserve the same love. We don't drink and the options were fine but very sour and clearly an afterthought. Do better for the sober and sober curious crowd. Now the food. The burrata was creamy, rich, and gorgeous sitting in olive oil topped with chimichurri and grilled bread. Needed more balsamic to bring the acid balance home, but honestly still one of the better burratas I've had locally. The stuffed pork with gouda, chimichurri, and saffron potato wedges was a genuinely smart plate. The saffron wedges were a surprise standout, bringing a clean earthiness that cut through the richness beautifully. A touch heavy on the gouda and the whole dish woke up considerably with a little extra salt, but the bones of it are excellent. The churrasco hanger steak told the same story. Well cooked, flavorful, chimichurri doing its job. The curly fries were the one shrug of the night. Not bad, just boring next to everything else on offer. Mike our server closed the deal by steering us toward the caramel skillet cookie and honestly, bless him for it. Warm, salty, sweet, rich, topped with cold vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It is everything a skillet cookie should be and we scraped the pan. We are already planning the return visit and bringing friends. Barrel & Vine is an unexpected dining experience that Plainfield is lucky to have.

My husband likes meat, so we go out to eat fairly often so that my husband can get the foods that I do not allow in the house. We went to Niko's Breakfast Club and my husband loved it. There was truly nothing for me to eat except hashbrowns. They were very good, but it would have been nice if they had at least a few vegan options. Vegetarians always have plenty to eat at a breakfast spot. I believe that eggs and hashbrowns (no toast) are suitable for Celiac/gluten-free diets. They do have one gluten-free pancake. The service was fantastic! 5 stars, but they need to expand their menu offerings for people of different dietary needs/choices. The waitstaff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive without hovering. We started with drinks: blueberry mojitos and sangria. Both were fantastic. The flavors were perfectly balanced, refreshing, and it was clear they were made with real care and attention, not just poured and sent out. For appetizers, we ordered the chips with guacamole and salsa. We weren't expecting the chips to come out hot and clearly fresh from the fryer, but wow, perfectly crisp with just the right amount of salt. The guacamole tasted fresh and clean, and the salsa had a great balance of heat and flavor without overpowering anything. I ordered the birria tacos, and they were outstanding. The meat was incredibly well seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell when food is prepared by someone who truly cares about what they're making, those kinds of flavors can't be faked. The Cobb salad was equally impressive: fresh ingredients, a perfect portion size, moist chicken, and a dressing that tied everything together beautifully. One of the nicest surprises was learning that Urban Kitchen supports the community through Meals on Wheels. It's always great to enjoy a meal knowing the restaurant gives back. The only downside? We live six hours away. That said, we will absolutely be back the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!
