a yellow circle on a hardwood floor
    Hannah N.

Morris Hardwood Flooring was hired to replace hardwood flooring in formerly carpeted living room area and refinish existing American cherry floors in November 2021. Melissa, the owner underestimated the project and the installers ran out of wood. The team finished the job early in spite of scrambling for wood and one guy not showing up for work one day. The end result was unacceptable. Sanding was inconsistent and corners were still showing the former finish. Steve, another owner, spent an entire day correcting a multiple of mistakes. This second try to correct poor workmanship required us to spend an additional night out of the house. The redo appeared to have corrected many of the crew's failures. After mailing the final payment, I began noticing many blatant (see photos) errors. After multiple attempts to reach Melissa and sharing photos with her she stated she saw nothing wrong and this final product would be considered in line with industry standards. Additionally, as a "courtesy" she would have Steve contact me in January when he returned to town. January has come and gone, and no attempt by Melissa or Steve to correct the shoddy workmanship. I've worked with many trades and subcontractors over the years, as a landlord and homeowner, and never worked with anyone so disinterested in completing a job as Morris Flooring. I would recommend looking elsewhere to spend your hard earned dollars on wood refinishing work.

We hired Morris Flooring in November to tear out and install flooring in our rental home. We had a very tight remodel timeframe and they did an amazing job fitting us in. I chose luxury vinyl planks and carpet and was so impressed by all the crews that came in and did the work. The project was finished quickly and we were able to meet our deadlines to sell the property and got top dollar. Thank you so much for your beautiful work.

Let me share with you my experience,…read more Walter their salesman came out to give me a bid Once he found out that Home Depot had done the estimate already, he just used the amount of boxes which was about 80 for the estimate. He did no measuring or anything else. He was gone in about 10 minutes. (I needed only labor as I was purchasing the material from Home Depot.) Once we agreed on Price to have all the existing solid wood baseboard, removed the new floor put down and the baseboard put back. I agreed to the job. Pricing; I agreed on 50% down and 50% when the job was completed to maintain some control of the final product I'm very glad I did this. Their policy is to get 100% upfront, which I never recommend anyone for any service, ever do. The very next day after agreeing on terms with Walter, I got a call asking for 100% of the money I told this lady that's not what we agreed to and she said well that's what we normally do and I said you better call Walter. I'm gonna cancel the job. She did came back excepted 50% Overall, the subcontractors that came out from a company called Sun sunshine floors did a pretty good job putting in the material But it's the follow up , putting doors back on , getting trim put back on that was a real headache and took me almost 30 days to get done and also a threat of a complaint to get what I considered to be a very reasonable discount about $370 off my bill In the end, I fixed the existing problems myself because it was too much of a headache after they finally agreed to give me the discount Finally, a reminder again if you use this company, do not pay 100% upfront you'll have no control over the job over anything that needs to get fixed and you'll be working on their timetable, while they have all your money ------- Part 2 It's smart that Kelly took down her first knee jerk response to my above comment since is was inaccurate and not well researched. "Telling me I agreed not to leave public comment in agreement for the discount" -that was true if you accepted my generous offer.... the first go round. I'm going to guess that she finally got around to actually reading.... the 2nd email with my threat to file a complaint with yelp. Poof.....gone and replaced with boiler plate sorry we messed up and we should have done better. " Kelly, I wish you would have taken seriously my first initial complaint to your company and really taken the time to call me and find out what happened, Sincerely apologize, accept my generous offer and maybe even go a bit farther to make me happy and satisfied, If you had done so, we wouldn't be having this stupid engagement in the first place. Even after all that, I do hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

They have three racks of carpet samples: plush, textured and a flat pile. They also have other types of flooring. We chose a plush carpet and some really good pad and Brett wrote up our order. He sent our phone number to an installer named Chris who was supposed to call us in a day or two to schedule coming out to measure. When I didn't hear from him for 4 days I called him. He said he couldn't get into his email and didn't know that he was supposed to call. But he did come out a few days later to measure and again a week later to measure the third room that was missed on his first visit (hubby's fault). Being that it was only 3 days before our scheduled install I was definitely nervous. Brett called us two days before install to say they didn't have enough of our chosen carpet and offered the options of choosing a different carpet, doing less area, or getting our full deposit back and not getting carpet. We opted for getting a different carpet so we made that drive up north once again. The morning of our install Chris called to say he couldn't make it but would send his brothers. We had spent days getting the rooms ready - taking out all the stuff in the closets (up to 3 feet off the floor), emptying shelves, and basically removing everything but the heavy furniture. So of course I said ok to having substitute installers. They turned out to be very good and got the job done in one day. So far everything looks great And they only missed one night stand when putting the furniture back. So Sloane's will continue to be our go to for new carpet.

We vetted several companies and decided to go with ASA Flooring for several reasons: 1) Responsiveness. Bryan was quick to get back to my inquiry and was at the house to assess the project within a day. 2) Knowledgeable. Our refrigerator had leaked and warped several boards. Bryan explained the pros and cons of board replacement vs letting the boards dry out. We went with the latter and saved money. We had another challenge in the fact that we did not have two rooms refinished which meant seamless color matching. Alfredo was an artist and had an eye for selecting the perfect match. Although the final decision was ours, his experience was a definite help. 3) Efficient. The whole process from start to finish only took three days. We used the opportunity for a little vacation in the mountains and came home to beautiful floors! 4) Professional. Kevin, the project manager, came the weekend before to assess the job site and answer any questions. Alberto hung plastic and taped off the areas to reduce dust and vacuumed any remaining dust before the final coat. It was nearly dust free! 5) Follow up: Kevin did the final walk through with us to make sure we were satisfied. I'd highly recommend ASA Flooring for your next hardwood floor project!

Within one week upon agreeing to the estimate, Jake was at our house early and put in full days. He was personable and extremely helpful in ideas that arose. All of our chimney and electrical work and estimates were handled through the company and then communicated with us. For the cherry on top, Jake was enjoyable to bounce ideas off of. He has a wealth of knowledge and talks to you, not as a contractor, but as an everyday person.
