I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Lakewood Ranch Oral & Facial Surgery was frustrating…read moreenough that I feel obligated to share it. We scheduled this wisdom teeth surgery appointment six months in advance, only for the office to move it back another week. After finally arriving for the appointment, we then waited over an hour while dealing with front desk staff who were rude, dismissive, and lacking basic professionalism. What truly pushed this experience over the edge was the pricing. Months ago, we were given one estimate for the surgery. When we returned, the out-of-pocket cost had suddenly increased by nearly $1,000. A staff member attempted to blame the increase on insurance coverage, but we had printed copies of both estimates and confirmed that our insurance was still covering the exact same 70% as before. The increase came from the office's own pricing and added charges, not from insurance. To make matters worse, I called another oral surgery practice afterward and found out that WITHOUT insurance, their total cost for the exact same surgery was only about $200 more than what this office was trying to charge us WITH insurance. That was honestly shocking. At that point, it became very difficult not to feel like this office is far more focused on maximizing charges than actually caring about patients. Having wisdom teeth surgery is already stressful enough without feeling misled financially and treated poorly by staff. I understand that medical procedures are expensive, but patients deserve honesty, transparency, and respectful communication. Unfortunately, this experience felt disorganized, misleading, and extremely unprofessional from start to finish. After reading through other negative reviews, it became clear that many people have had very similar experiences here. I rarely write negative reviews, but families deserve to know what they may be walking into before committing to treatment at this office.

Communication is awful. They make you Zelle you WAY too much , just to refund you instead of…read moreverifying insurance ... which they had done a day later and said I'll get refund. STILL waiting for a refund and STILL waiting for an email back for the 2nd time. Ended up going with a different dentist. They quoted me $1000 for wisdoms teeth removal. Another dentist quoted me $230 for the same thing. Would like my refund asap .

As a warning to other patients, I want to share how I was financially scammed at "Dental Care at…read moreWard Lake." In addition to my insurance covering the procedure, I was told that I also had to pay an estimated amount up front. When, after the procedure was finished, I received an additional bill for items not covered by insurance--which the accounting department was aware of but still authorized--I asked for a statement. I was told by someone who identified themselves as a manager that the statement would not include my payments, only what the insurance covered? Despite my calls, I have not received the statement to this day. The same "manager" told me that if I don't pay the sent bill, she will report me to collections. According to my records and information from my insurance, I should receive a credit, not a payment. It seems that double billing is the norm at this office. BK

You do not even deserve one star! RUN.....don't walk…read more.....AWAY from this office! This is the worst dental experience I've ever had, and it's not over yet. In August, 2025, I fractured my bridge and swallowed my front tooth while eating a simple hamburger. A bridge Dr. Alba had put in less than two years before. Dr. Alba told me my ONLY option was to remove all my upper teeth and get a denture (a total lie) -- and that I'd "never be a day without teeth." They demanded full payment immediately. I went two weeks without a front tooth. On September 5, 2025, I went through a very painful extraction experience with bone grafts and lots of stitches from a periodontist recommended by Dr. Alba. Another horrific experience! The immediate denture was a terrible fit -- oversized, uncomfortable, extreme overbite, and constant gagging. I would never actually be treated by Dr. Alba from this point forward. When I mentioned my concerns, the dental assistant at Dr. Alba's office rudely told me to "deal with it." After several more frustrating and painful visits, I was promised a replacement (mid-October). After many broken promises and no teeth at all, the new denture was finally available on December 23, 2025 late afternoon. The fit was just as bad. The dental assistant told me to come back after the holidays for an adjustment. Didn't even offer me a mirror to see! Still no usable teeth! I called the first day after the holidays, Jan 5, at 8:10am for an adjustment appointment, and the office manager said that I was being dismissed immediately as a patient because I was "too hard to please." Still no usable teeth! A new. professional, and well respected specialist has since confirmed that both dentures are in fact completely unusable -- poorly made, misaligned, and far too large. Their professional opinion was that no amount of adjustments would ever make it usable or wearable. This has been extremely painful, expensive, embarrassing, emotionally exhausting, and life changing. I strongly caution anyone considering this office! Between the poor quality of work, the rude staff and Doctor, and the many broken promises, I truly would NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Alba and her staff to anyone!
