We dined in the restaurant even though we were staying at an Embassy Suites nearby. Omar was our guide for an early dinner that definitely did not dissappoint. Generally my husband and I are likeminded in our choice of meal and this was no different. We both ordered the filet mignon which was accompanied by fluffy Yukon gold mashed potatoes, complimented by the Bourdelaise sauce with some lovely fresh green beans and mini carrots alongside. The atmosphere was gorgeous in the mansion part of the hotel with beautiful floor to ceiling windows and mirrors reflecting light to all areas of the dining room. A beautiful slice of cheesecake with fresh berries traveled back to our room with us to be enjoyed when we weren't so full!

The medium-rare cheeseburger was excellent but I did not care for the fries.

I had wandered off from my hotel to grab a quick bite; I was looking for someplace nice, not someplace that I could find closer to home. I stumbled onto Morrison-Clark, an inviting restaurant in the historic 1864 Clark House, just a few blocks away. The dining room was empty, to be expected at 2 pm. The sole server was nevertheless welcoming. The dining room was very elegant. I loved the large framed prints of maps, leather seating, floor-to-ceiling curtains, and sparkly chandeliers. During my meal, muted instrumentals played in the background. I happily imagined myself in a Downton Abbey dining room. The lunch menu was limited. There were a few apps (leek soup, wheel of brie), salads (nicoise, caesar, Asian pear), and sandwiches (crab cake, salmon burger, and Morrison burger) available. I ordered a burger and, mindful of early dinner plans, only had half. The burger was cooked to medium-rare, more rare than medium, perfection. The fries, however, were coated and less enjoyable. The server was kind and professional.

I have been a guest at the Morrison Clark on several occasions. Each time, I'm impressed with the level of courtesy, cleanliness and comfort. I was told that lacking a swimming pool, the Hotel can not achieve five stars. Setting aside that unnecessary convenience, check in/check out is speedy; the staff is professional, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms are adequately spacious, with clean bedding and towels. The premises are decoratively appointed and quiet. Housekeeping is all but invisible, but beds are made to a crisp snap, with bathrooms restored to freshness. Location is walking or reasonable distance from every museum, monument, and restaurant. The on-premises restaurant is excellent. I've stayed before. I'll stay again. And, comparing with a few other hotels in the region, my first, second, third, and preferred choice when in DC. Highest recommendations.

An older hotel on the edge of Chinatown. Close to the City Center shopping area with all the poshest shops like Tiffany and Channel. The restaurant is great for breakfast. I have not eaten dinner there but it looks great also. I have stayed here twice now. The first time I stayed in one of the smaller rooms in the new section. Those rooms are made for the business travelers and tourists that aren't planning to spend a lot of time in the room. The second time I stayed in a suite with my wife. The rooms are much larger with two televisions, a couch and a desk. There is plenty of room to hang around and relax. I recommend this hotel for business travel and a romantic vacation.

Very convenient area close to waking to many things including convention center. Breakfast was included for government rate and was delicious. Service was good all around. If you check in on yelp you get a free cocktail at hotel bar which was nice. Rooms were good but could use some updating.

I live 40 minutes from DC but I like to stay overnight if I'm going to a restaurant or an event. The Morrison hotel has become my favorite place to stay in the city. Not only is the hotel charming and conveniently located, but the staff are top notch. Friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The bar is small but they have a great selection of spirits and their bartenders are great people. The rates are fantastic for the value they deliver. They have EV chargers in their garage, which is a plus. I highly recommend the Morrison hotel if you are staying in DC.

4 star hotel. Beautiful hotel and very fancy room and bathroom. Highly recommend. Two blocks from convention center. Walking distance to downtown and Chinatown. Parking spaces around premise or you can valet with the hotel. Tip: try A Baked Joint that's about a ten minute walk from the hotel. The best dirty chai and breakfast biscuit in town. Tip: if it rains, you can ask them to borrow an umbrella!

Very nice boutique hotel near the Marriott Marquis and convention center. Rooms are super clean and stylish. Staff is very professional. Price was reasonable for location and how nice the property is but not "cheap". When I checked in with Yelp I got a free drink coupon (yea!). LOVE the (free) coffee setup in the lobby in the morning as this is one of my pet peeves; hotels should offer free coffee to guests in the morning. You have to walk-up a flight of stairs to get in front entrance so not sure if it's a handicap accessible property. My first time here I walked right by and didn't notice because they have a small wooden boutique like sign and the front door is up the flight of stairs. I thought to myself "how can I walk by a hotel and not see it?" - but I did! There's a nice outdoor patio / courtyard with comfy chairs. Nice accommodation, quiet and friendly would stay here again.

Charming hotel to stay at. We loved our suite and the close proximity to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a newly renovated beauty just waiting to be romanced in. This place is completely off the radar and I am persuaded to think that many have not seen it's recent makeover. The décor on the main floor is modern contemporary with these elaborate scarlet light fixtures that look like roped tassels hanging from the ceiling. Reminds me of a cute little boutique hotel in Manhattan. The staff was polite, neat, and polished. To what privilege did I owe this visit? A private book signing for Washington Post's Robin Givhan's new book Battle of Versailles Fashion show. For you fashion buffs ( you probably already know this)-the first ready to wear fashion battle between the French and the Americans, which debuted African American models for the first time on a Paris Runway. HUGE Moment. ANYWAYS, the event was on the 2nd story loft area next to the dining room. The mushroom crostini's and the tempura veggies were fresh and tasty, along with the chicken satay skewers that were served promptly during the cocktail hour. The reception area is Victorian inspired with window treatments and crown molding that really keep with the integrity of the original architecture. My friend and I had dinner on the other side of the room, in the all-white dining area. The menu is limited, but filled with sure to please American Bistro selections such as steak, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and salmon with Caesar salad. The wine selections were perfect; I had the cabernet and a Tempranillo. Thanks to the Yelp check-in one of my glasses was on the house! My shrimp and grits were absolutely perfect, and did not necessarily need the bacon, but it was delicious. A magical evening in a hidden gem of a hotel! This is the place to meet up with a friend FOR A, I mean AFTER A, swanky affair *wink*

Beautiful boutique hotel with updated modern finishes. It's the city so rooms are small but well designed and laid out so never cramped. Bathroom and walk-in shower were especially nice. Quiet even in the city. Very close to conference centers and dining. Walked to the National Mall, Portrait Gallery, Chinatown. The hotel staff was absolutely the best, from the time I called ahead, until we'll after checkout. They even stored my bag so I could spend a couple hours out before a late evening flight and called me a taxi with no issue. Lovely bar, lounge space, and courtyard. Cannot recommend enough.

The room was spotless, the turndown service was a nice flex, and everything felt polished. The location is clutch--walkable to fun spots and everywhere we needed to be for work. The key-card elevators are sleek, high-tech, and super secure. The restaurant and bar had great energy, and the food hit, but $24 for a drink is unhinged. Overall, a stylish, safe, and seriously fun stay. More details from my review on Google: Rooms: The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The turndown service was a lovely touch, and everything in the room was perfect throughout my stay. Safety: The hotel elevators felt extremely secure and high-tech. Guests must use a key card to access certain levels and floors, which added an extra layer of safety and peace of mind. It's a great security feature and made me feel very comfortable during our stay. Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of plenty of things to do, as well as the locations I needed to access for work. The location made my stay easy and convenient. Food & drinks: The hotel restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere, and the food was good, but everything felt extremely overpriced. Charging $24 for one drink is absurd. I enjoyed the experience overall, but the prices make it difficult to recommend. Noteworthy details: From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a regular. The staff made me feel genuinely welcome and at home-never like an outsider in an exclusive club. Their warm, down-to-earth hospitality made the experience truly special.

Too bad stored blankets were unavailable for sleepers wanting more warmth than their traveling companions. We had to make a second request for one. May I also suggest providing more than one bar of mini soap bars. It's such a minuscule cost item but would obviate having to repeatedly move the precious one bar from sink to shower. We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. This experience alone confirms our future choice of Marriott over Willard for annual DC visits.

Furthermore, for a five-star hotel, lacking a proper hot tub and standalone shower is unacceptable. The towels provided are cheap, rough, and feel entirely out of place at this price point. The bathroom ventilation is so old and loud, that I can't even believe it's there.
