I recently experienced a mechanical breakdown with my oven. Mike, the owner of Morro Bay Appliance, arrived promptly as scheduled. We both agreed it was not economically feasible to pay $350 or more to repair a 14 year old oven--and no guarantee the repair would work. Nevertheless, I appreciated Mike's honesty and professionalism. The cost to trouble shoot the problem was only $65.00 which is significantly less than most handymen, contractors, ect. I do not recommend. They came out to repair my washing machine covered under my Lowe's warranty. Replaced some parts on a Friday and assured me it was working fine. I ran my first load on Monday and my machine is making more noises than it was before I started the repair process, despite the $160 in parts and labor. I was told they couldn't come out again until Friday. We all know when you don't complete the job properly the first time, you make it a priority to take care of it ASAP. This review is the exact reason you go above and beyond when work is done poorly. They didn't do that at all and for that reason I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Our washing machine began leaking large amounts of water out of the bottom. We called Morro Bay Appliance Repair and they sent out Rodger. Rodger checked it out and said the problem was our drainage system, not the washing machine, and that we needed a plumber, not an appliance repair man. We disagreed, telling him the leak problem was the washer, not the drain. He collected his $139 service fee and left. I did additional troubleshooting and found that the problem was a faulty water fill valve within in the washing machine. I was able buy a replacement part on-line, did the repair myself, and everything works fine now. Calling Morro Bay Appliance was nothing but a $139 mistake. read more

Our refrigerator needed to be replace with a counter depth frig. We ordered on from Best Buy, but it wasn't coming for a few weeks. We thought that maybe Morro Bay Appliance could have something, plus it's a local business. We went there and they had exactly the right one. It was counter depth and the dimensions fit (it was difficult to find one that fit.) The people were nice and they delivered the next day. Moving the new refrigerator was a challenge, but they did a great job. I absolutely love my refrigerator and it cost less than the one we cancelled from Best Buy! Thanks MBA. read more

I called at about 10am and Roger was able to repair and service an old "Gaffers & Sattler" oven by 1:00 p.m. His fee is most reasonable. I tried hard to give this company my business. Unfortunately a lady named Karen answered the phone and made that impossible. I wanted to order a part and had the part number and she told me they cannot order any parts without me paying for them to come out and look at the appliance first! I explained that I was going to replace the part myself, I had done it many times before (heating element to a dryer) and she rudely hung up on me saying she had another customer and didn't have TIME to talk about this any more. I would pass on this store. I had a terrible experience two years ago when they charged me $800 to fix my gas range only to tell me it could not be repaired and I should buy a new one. Then I decided to give them a second chance to fix my washer and they didn't even bother to call or show up. By looking at the reviews, there is no in-between with this provider. They can either solve your problem or just walk away. I would check out Idlers instead - good products, prices and service. read more

A service charge to get the bad news that my washer is terminal. Roger had no intention of attempting to determine the cause or repair my machine. The appliance is junk, although it still works allbeit loadly, no parts availible, although I found them on line, what a dissapointment to pay $12/min to find out they wanted nothing to do with my project. At least take the back off the machine and maybe move it away from the wall. That might have made me feel better about being ripped off. read more

I absolutely loved the way Mike and the girls treated me from the second I called and they didn't know me from a hole in the wall. They were very accommodating and friendly! We have been staying at my mom's house while she is in the hospital, and when I did the wash I noticed that the machine was smoking, which I figured wasn't a good thing. I was nervous calling someone I hadn't had any experience with, so I went to Yelp, and found that Morro Bay Appliance had a good rating and so I gave them a call. I was a bit concerned that they would try to sell me a new washer since that also sell washers, however, that was not the case. Not only did they come out the same day, but they fixed the washer that day. Mike (the repairman) thought that the problem was the belts, but before he put them on he assured us that if that wasn't the problem that he would take them back off at no cost. Luckily that was the problem and mom's old washer is back to washing without the noxious fumes. I would absolutely recommend Morro Bay Appliance for any appliance service you need. I only wish that they serviced Ventura as my washer needs an honest repair person to look at it. read more

Bought a refrigerator for a vacation home in San Simeon over the phone, was very happy it was what i asked for and delivered on time. A few months later my clothes dryer stopped heating. This company cheated my mom out of $600! My 79 year old mother was in need of refrigerator repair. The FIRST time Morro Bay Appliance went to her home she was charged $300. The problem was NOT fixed. The second time they went to her home they charged her ANOTHER $300. Again, the problem was NOT fixed. By this time she was $600 into it, couldn't afford to go to another repair shop and rather than risk another expensive FAILURE by this company, she had to buy a new fridge. I would think the first visit would be covered by some kind of warranty or something, so when they tried a second time there should have been no charge or at least a discounted rate. What the hell did they do for $600??? Nothing! Because it was never fixed. rather than charge her that much, why didn't they just offer to sell her a new fridge. The cost is about the same, isn't it? She is very nice and, like many people her age it isn't real hard to take advantage of her. Shame on you Morro Bay Appliance for A) not fixing the problem and B) charging for it anyway. read more

In November of 2017 I had Morro Bay Appliance come to my home to check out the washer and dryer as my washer was not working correctly. Their service charge was 119 for each appliance despite the fact that they had only 1 service non emergency call. I was not there at time of service and I just received the amount owed of $238.00 with the recommendation that the washer was not worth repairing. The dryer came back that the outlet needed to be replaced as it was a fire hazard. I called and requested more information and was read exactly what was told above word for word. Since the person I talked to was not the repair person on site I requested to have a call back from the person who went there so I could understand more what I needed to do. I was told I was not allowed to speak to the person who goes out on the service calls. I had to hold my payment in order to have the service person just call me so I could understand. Trust me, this was no better. The service person was very angry that he was forced to call me. He only read the invoice as I had done. I called the company back and requested a bill so I could pay as I'd given up on understanding and hired another company to go out and check it out again. I said she could either mail the bill or email the bill and I would pay in full. she did not send the bill until just this week, March of 2018 after 4 contacts requesting the written bill for my records. I would NEVER recommend working with this company. read more

Wow!!! Great Service. New tenants had a problem with the refrigerator and I called Morro Bay Appliance and they scheduled a service call. Mike found that the unit was not cooling properly and due to the age recommended a new one. The best! We have a rental property in Los Osos, and we live out of town. When we last renovated the home (about five years ago), Morro Bay Appliance delivered and in stalled all the kitchen appliances in cooperation with the contractor. Recently, our tenants called to say the drier was not working. Lisa at Morro Bay Appliances was really helpful at working with the tenants to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. last week i went shopping for a new stove. first i went to a local appliance store ... they wanted $1399 for the stove, and wouldn't even give me an estimate on delivery and installation. i had purchased a refrigerator from morro bay appliance a few years ago, and when i realized the freezer didn't have a light ... they generously picked up the fridge and delivered a new one (i paid the difference). great customer service! so, back to morro bay appliance. they had a good selection, knew their stuff, and i purchased a stove, new hood, they installed and took away my old stove ... all for under $750. they delivered on time, and were courteous and cleaned up afterwards. i highly recommend them! read more

I had dealt with Morro Bay Appliance years ago and already knew they would do a good job. I went in to get a refrigerator and knew which one I preferred so figured it would need to be ordered. I felt so comfortable with the entire procedure I decided to replace all of my appliances including refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and range and while there I even found a washer/dryer I wanted. They arranged everything and were extremely knowledgeable about all products. I do not live in Morro Bay full time so arrangements needed to be made including installation problems that required a crane service which they also coordinated. I cannot begin to explain how invaluable their personal service is compared to that received in a much larger community.
