To begin, I was offered a fixed charge of $150 only to come to your door. But you'll be charged $155. Our Wolf oven needed some repair to the oven door (new hinges, fan switches, logo, 2 burner knobs, thermostat knob) total ~$400 parts). However, they charged $119 for the trip charge to diagnose the problem, and $155/hour for labor (3 hours total $465), including labor for the diagnosis! The tech was very nice and all works fine now. 2 stars because of the high labor cost and what appears to be redundant charging for diagnosis and labor for the initial visit. read more

Fantastic service. We had a problem with one of our two dishwasher drawers, and Toby came out to diagnose the problem. He was right on time, very friendly and knowledgable, and knew exactly what to do to fix the problem. He ordered a new part (which we're currently waiting for), and even gave us a quick, temporary fix to see us through until it arrived. He even gave me a couple of tips to fix a few things that I was struggling with - and I appreciated it! I would absolutely call them again if I needed help with an appliance. We had a problem with our washer not properly operating in the rinse cycle. We contacted Central Coast and set up a diagnosis visit for the end of the week. Dallas came out, was quite personable and diagnosed the problem immediately. Replaced the faulty part and was done within the hour. Great service and very worthy of a five star rating. read more

I asked them to check a tenant stove and to call me on the status. They never called and then checked the dryer of my other tenant and did a repair without my permission. They are not taking me for collection for the additional charge that I never approved. I do not recommend this company obviously they do not communicate with their employees. read more

The owner named Toby is a nice guy but could not fix my dishwasher and ended up just telling me that I needed a new one. I got charged over $200!!!! I still have not paid it because I called the office and told them that he did not fix anything. They said that its $97.50 to step foot on your property and then when he worked on it to try to fix it was the rest. However, nothing got fixed. Not a fan of this company!!!! All in all, a great experience. They arrived early and were able to make the simple repair on my dryer. HOWEVER, when I called to schedule I was told "there's a $97.50 fee for them to come out, and if they can fix it then they will. If they need to order a part it will be an additional visit cost." The lady on the phone made it absolutely seem that this would cost $97.50. She didn't mention an additional labor cost. The total amount was $163.40. So I basically paid them $97.50 to drive two blocks, then labor was an additional cost. They were polite and professional, but I do feel ripped off. read more

Amazing customer service, I had a gas oven installed to replace an electric one and they were very professional, prompt, and did a great job. They had to cut the granite countertop and remove a cabinet to get it to fit and it looks like it was designed to be there! I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again. read more

I was over charged for a washer/dryer checkup. In the past, I was charged $80 for this same service. Other companies in the area charge $80 to $85. Sue charged me $99.95. I was told they charge extra because the stackable units are difficult to pull out and access. But the service guy didn't have to access anything, the washer/dryer was working fine when he came over. It turns out, an electrical surge caused the problem.  $99.95 is too much for a 10 minute visit requiring no manual labor. read more

We had a part that needed to be replaced on our Broan exhaust fan over our stove top. Told by the repairguy, John, that he would order it. I have called them at least five times. Every time I get a woman who says she will check and call me back. She has never me called me back. Hence all my calls to them. This has been going on since Apr 27, 2021. It is now 5/28. The customer service has been totally lacking except for John. He was great. I would go somewhere else but our American Home Shield insurance assigned us to them. We have no confidence we are getting the real status. Very frustrating. read more

Everyone there is fantastic! We bought a Speed Queen washer which works fantastic. They got it to me quickly and were very helpful in getting it in. I've done installs so that was no problem and he even helped me getting the old one out and the new one in when I hooked it up and was immediately happy with how it works. 2. Got a new Speed Queen dryer and again, the service was fantastic. This time the delivery man came and was super friendly and helped get the unit into the house when it was only a drop off. Those folks are great and they are very good in getting back to you quickly. They also are highly competitive in pricing and give great advice. Very much appreciated and they are very friendly. Nice to have local people and not have to worry about going through dept. stores and hope they will get back to you. Very happy. Thanks, guys for your help and assistance. read more

Our dryer stopped making heat all of a sudden and through some troubleshooting I determined it was the thermal fuse. Thankfully Central Coast Appliance is practically down the street so I decided to check for the part here. As soon as I pulled the fuse out she was on it and went straight to the back to grab a replacement. Very friendly and very quick service and the part works great. Yes of course it's more expensive than internet parts, but it's great to have a local resource like this since most likely it's not worth waiting a couple days to save a few dollars. Honestly this was such a bad experience it made me sign up to yelp to leave this review. I waited an extra day for them to get back to me about my dryer because I wanted to go local. When the tech came this morning he found that it was just a misaligned belt and it took him five minutes of labor with no parts required. He left our house with a check for 163.00! When I questioned the tech about the exorbitant amount, in the end he said "could you do it yourself?" Next time I will just research and do just that. When I called their office I got a parroting of the same, with little surprise that a 10 minute service call cost 163.00. Moreover she also referenced the fact that they provided a technical service that I couldn't do myself and that was the reason they could charge what they did. Which, if you do math, is 948.00 an hour. Unbelievable. Use them if you hate money and customer service. I've never been more disappointed in a local company. read more

"Thank you for making our small business, your business." This is a quote that I found at the bottom of a bill we received from Central Coast Appliance. The bill was for a charge of $79.95, for a 5 minute visit to our home. The serviceman came and simply pushed up into place the 1 inch square plastic frame which surrounds the toggle switch controlling our refrigerator-freezer lightbulb. The same lightbulb that we had just purchased from CCA for $24.56 (we have since found an equivalent bulb at a nearby warehouse supply store for $6.00}. I don't know how CCA measures the cost of their serviceman's time, but surely we paid for what he did next for CCA that morning. The above quote suggests gratitude and goodwill towards their customers. I question their sincerity. Competence, convenience and goodwill are what we look for in a small business. Out of "goodwill" we didn't complain when the delivery of our refrigerator caused scarring on our stairway woodwork. We did, however, wonder why their servicemen didn't plan ahead, and measure the space before they tried to bring the refrigerator up the stairs. Out of goodwill, we didn't ask them to repair the damage. I find the bill excessive after all the business we have given to them. Just consider the many appliances (and service charges) we have paid for over the years: an oven, a dishwasher, a refrigerator-freezer, a cooktop, a micro hood, and a garbage disposal. We were alright with paying higher prices for these items because we valued our relationship with CCA. We expected more flexibility, fairness, an authentic goodwill from a business in Los Osos. I called to tell this company I could not wait for them anymore an emergency had come up (they give you a 2 hour window) and told them how they could get into the house and they charged me for a missed service appt...they also had my phone number and never even called to check why I was not there and then I could have given the serviceman the instructions how to get into my residence. The gal that answers the phone is a B*$ch and rude and the manager Terry is just as bad if not worse. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY unless you like to pay them your hard earned money for nothing. They had to send the owner to come fix the problem that the serviceman did not fix the first time. If they had not already been paid I would not have had them near my home again!! I wish I could give this company a zero. I scheduled a dishwasher to be installed. My date was set up, they had asked me information about the dishwasher so they had everything they needed. The day of they cancelled with no apology and no explanation as to why they had to do so. I called to reschedule and there was still no apology or explanation. I rescheduled for another date. They called me the day before (later in the day and right before I had to leave for work) to ask more questions about the dishwasher. They should have already had this information written down and anything else they needed they should have got the first time. I had to have my roommate call and cancel,otherwise I would have told them my exact reason for not using their service. I never even got a chance to judge their technical ability because the customer service was so bad. Whoever is in charge of the phone and working with client booking is terrible. I would never use them again and to whoever owns the business, I suggest you find someone better to work with your clients over the phone. read more

We had a functioning Bosch oven stove combination with a malfunctioning control panel. Our landlord called Central Coast appliance. They came out, assessed and ordered new parts. After they returned and worked on it, the control panel was not repaired and the oven stopped working as well. Instead of acknowledging that they caused the further malfunction, they just charged our landlord for further visits and more parts, eventually claiming that the stove couldn't be fixed and he would have to order a whole new one from them. (Though they'd be kind enough to knock $20 off of our next stove. After rendering our operable oven, inoperable.) Their tech was rude, trying to push into the house unannounced, not communicating and not cleaning up after himself, slipping out the door without notifying us of what was going on, and leaving the stove pulled halfway out, blocking part of the kitchen, on multiple occasions. My wife went down to Central Coast appliance personally to try to communicate with them and let them know what was happening and they absolutely refused to acknowledge that any problems existed and did not even offer social niceties, much less recompense for mishandling and misconduct. They also lied about our landlord and tried to shift blame onto him, as well as denying him information on the price of parts for repairs on the appliance he owns, telling him they could not inform him of the part's cost prior to ordering. When my wife made inquiries she into buying the part they said they were not at liberty to divulge that information. Upon further questioning as to why we could know the price of something we wanted to buy we were finally told that in actuality they didn't KNOW the price. My wife had to further question as to whether anybody working there could find the price and she was told "maybe". I don't think I've ever seen such poor customer service. We had an operation oven and they have damaged personal property rendering it inoperable. They've specifically mentioned not wanting to say anything to imply "culpability" and it seems pretty apparent through their words and actions that they're aware that they've liable for damage of personal property and do not want to make reparations. When I called and asked to speak to a manager or supervisor I was told there was none and the owner is on vacation. When asked the date of his return I had to question multiple times before I was given the date. They just kept saying, "we already told your wife the date." Why they felt the need to withhold this information when a simply answer would suffice is beyond me. I would never recommend this company to anyone, unless they wanted to be charged over $700 in addition to being left with a broken stove. Since you were gone on vacation, Toby, you we're not privy to the abysmal customer service we experienced. It is not a matter of forgiveness. I hold no ill will toward you and your company at all. I simply don't want others to experience the stress that we did. That's why yelp is here. read more

My husband warned me about using Central coast appliance because they are the most expensive but against his advice I called them. I was quoted one price to come diagnose my appliances with no addendum to the price being dependent on type of appliances. I was. quoted more to repair them than to buy brand new ones and had them quote prices of new appliances. Theirs was extremely higher than elsewhere not including the installation cost. Decided to purchase elsewhere and have installed by another business who was less expensive which worked out perfect and save me a lot of money. I received a bill for the diagnostics that was done and it was much higher than quoted. When I asked why I was told it was because of the type of appliance. Would t recommend this place at all! Coast Appliance repair guy Dallas just left after repairing our Maytag dryer. Very polite and efficient. Reasonable price. This is the fourth time we have used Central Coast Appliance for repairs. Always five star work. First time was the replacement of our ice maker that had rusted out and was leaking. That was around five years ago or more. Then our Maytag washer quit and Dallas came out then and replaced the timer. Last repair was a clogged up dishwasher that owner Toby came out and fixed. Toby showed us what we should be using to keep machine clean and dishes sparkling. No problems since. We live in Cambria and so the service call charges have been very reasonable considering distance traveled from Los Osos. Average cost per repair has been around $200 including parts. Much cheaper than buying a new appliance! Plus better for the environment with less appliance discards to recycling or the land fills. These people are the greatest! We are very happy and glad to be able to dry our clothes again! read more

My 4 year old Kenmore stove's burners had stopped working. My warranty with Sears had run out and from it's "symptoms", was distressed at the thought of having to pay big bucks for parts and labor-- or possibly a brand new stove. A friend told me about CCA and how honest they were. They were professional and polite on the phone, which I was very grateful for. It felt good to be explaining issues to someone just down the road, that I could easily talk to again should I need to. Chad came out in a few days and easily resolved the issue. What relief! We had an odd European dishwasher that was covered under our home warranty that gave us allot of problems. At first, Toby (the owner) would be easy to get hold of on the phone, came out did repairs very well & things were good. The unit kept breaking down. I don't think it was their fault but it was covered under warranty & we as the consumer needed it repaired. After about the 4th or 5th time it broke (always a different problem), they told our insurance co. the present problem was caused by a broken glass in the machine so they denied the claim & will no longer cover our dish washer. This problem was NOT caused by a glass & I tried numerous times to get hold of Toby but the people answering the phone would refuse to let me get in contact with him & were super rude & argumentative with me. We now had to purchase a new dishwasher from another store. If you are a local owner / operator business I think communicating with your customers are key. Just because there's a problem is not a reason to refuse to reason with your customer. The worst part was the young man & older woman that answer the phone. Horrid people. i was shopping for a new stove ... went here first because they're in my neighborhood. it would have cost over $1300 for the stove, plus the cost of delivery and installation (and they wouldn't give me an estimate, either). went to morro bay appliance and for less than $750 i got a new stove, hood, delivery, installation and disposal of my old stove. they were on time, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. highly recommend morro bay appliance. read more
