After a 15-minute inspection, he ordered the necessary part and said he'd be back in two days. He returned as promised (after a text) and we were back and running before THREE DAYS BEFORE the Big Name local appliance store would have even shown up for the initial inspection. I had Oscar come out here the first time around 2017 and he fixed our washer. The other day I called and he called back the same day and I had him come out the next day this time for our dryer and found that the circuit board was out, he reset it and had it going but said that to replace the board itself cost $400 for the part itself because they don't have them available, being that this dryer is about 15 years old and if it happens again he said it would be better to buy a new one. Let's face it, refrigerator ice makers are built to break down. Since our two have done so, I've discovered that seemingly everyone else has sooner or later had similar issues. I called 805 Appliance Repair and they have responded promptly and professionally. They replaced the entire unit and over a period of several months, it still didn't work. We wondered if, given pervasive supply chain issues, it could even be repaired and our household does a LOT of laundry. At about the 11 month mark, we thought it needed to be examined because the freezer rack wasn't moving as smoothly as it should. Since the refrigerator was still under warranty, GE sent a local repair shop to check things out. That shop.....Appliance Central of Arroyo Grande.....fixed the problem in fairly short order. However, after they finished, we asked the 2 guys to take a look at replacing the cartridge in the refrigerator's water filter. It's an easy task, but for some reason our replacement cartridge would not simply slide into the casing. Those 2 guys spent an hour working on the cartridge. Finally, it fit and we were back in business. Fast forward 6 months to the next time we needed to replace the cartridge. Same thing happened. The replacement just would not fit...and we knew it was the correct one. I called Appliance Central and left a message. I waited 4 days and didn't hear from them. Left another message and waited 3 days. Again, no reply. So I called the business with the best reviews on Yelp...805 Appliance Repair. Now I know why they've got the best reviews. Andrew, the owner, answered the phone...listened, asked a few questions and said someone will visit 2 days later on a Friday between 12 and 1 PM. Oscar, who works with Andrew, called at 1245 PM to say he was running a bit late and should arrive about 115 PM. He did. Oscar looked things over, made a few adjustments and the cartridge was safely in its casing within 5 minutes. He also noted we should have received a part for the filter, called a plug bypass, when the refrigerator was originally delivered which would have eliminated the need to replace the cartridge every 6 months. He looked it up on Amazon, found the part and we ordered it. Best thing about this experience...aside from taking so little time: Oscar didn't charge us anything. We gave him a $20 tip for his work and friendly personality. There's no doubt in our mind. If we needed an appliance examined or repaired, we'll call 805 Appliance Repair. read more
