Continuing my America 250 series, moving west representing a business which started in Illinois is Morton's the Steakhouse. I only went to Morton's Steakhouse once here at Kierland Commons. My parents took me here as a celebration after graduating from ASU way back in May 2006. After my high school graduation in June 2002, my parents took me to Ruth's Chris in Biltmore, which looks like closed in 2010's. I had been to Ruth's Chris one other time in Maryland in Jan. 2020. As great as Ruth's Chris was after I graduated high school, I feel Morton's was even superior. I've had a lot more steaks over the years, and Ruth's Chris is still pretty up there for me, but there's some better places like some local places in Maryland, DC, & Virginia. Morton's is still pretty much the top of the list as the gold standard. The steak was so tender. Service was great as I recall although to be fair I was a young 22-year old with my dad paying, so I wasn't paying much attention to the service. read more

We had a most upsetting dinner last night at Mortons Scottsdale. We visited to enjoy the $139 dinner for two special. Though the restaurant was nearly empty-with only a handful of other guests present-the service was inexplicably and extremely slow. After two hour of waiting we were forced to abandon our coffee and deserts, ask for a bill and leave as our transportation was waiting. The food was at best good and one of the party had to send back their fish as being overcooked and the replacement was no better. When the billing finally arrived it was completely disorganized, culminating in me being handed a different members credit card with my bill. The most egregious part of our evening occurred as we were leaving . We requested to speak to the manager on duty to share out disappointment. instead of offering an apology the manager dismissively told us " Well then just don't come back". We have taken that advice and upon returning home we cancelled our existing reservation the following week read more

Sat at the bar and ordered drinks while we had a take away order prepared. Drinks were the raspberry apple martini and they were delicious- really enjoyed them and the bartender was great. Offered us water with it which is much different than some places. Decor is ... think dark low light steakhouse - at least in the bar area. The noise level is decent and the best part (for me) like no kids crying in the background ... I know that sounds mean to some people... but look, I'm not interested in paying $200+ for dinner to hear your kids cry because you can't manage them.... If I wanted that - I would go to.... Burger King? Chucky cheese? And spend considerably less. The long and short is - loved the experience and will be back. I can't give 5 stars because.... Well it's still overpriced for what it is ... $48 for some stroganoff ravioli... good, but markup whew! read more

I have not been to Morton's steakhouse in probably 20 to 25 years. I discovered that I had a couple of gift certificates worth $80 so I thought I would give it a whirl. I'm really glad that I did. I met a girlfriend there for happy hour, and we shared an array of different appetizers. The fried chicken sliders were my favorite. I loved how spicy they were and they were just enough it came three to an order. I also ordered the filet mignon petite sandwiches. Those weren't my favorite because I think they needed something like a horseradish sauce or some type of crunch or texture on there. Not sure that I would order those again. We also ordered the tacos and those were very good. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I ordered the petite crabcakes and those were very tasty. They have a thing called the power hour, which is their version of happy hour until 630. My wine was 9 ounces for $12 so that's a great bargain. I really enjoy the happy hour and I think I will definitely come back. We sat at the bar and our service was outstanding. I thoroughly recommend Morton's for a very good happy hour. Lastly, I loved the fries! Oh yeah, one more, the bathroom was quite disappointing. When you go to a fine dining establishment you expect more attention to detail, that includes details to the ladies restroom. We had a wonderful dining experience at Morton's Steak House. Even arriving a few minutes early, we were seated right away. We started with seasonal martinis--delicious--and a half order of oysters that were perfectly cold and full of flavor. Everyone enjoyed a salad or soup before the main course. The chopped house and Greek salads were fresh and hearty, and the Caesar was spot on. For entrées, the A-5 Wagyu was outstanding, and my filet mignon with truffle butter truly melted in your mouth. I added grilled shrimp for a perfect surf and turf. Others ordered the salmon and lobster ravioli with no complaints. We paired everything with a Louis Martini Gryphon Cabernet Sauvignon, and the service was superb and friendly. We never felt rushed, even as the restaurant filled up. Just not at all what it used to be. Service was great but a crappy martini and below average food is enough for us to cross Morton's off our list, sadly. I'm not sure what has happened. At one time Morton's was consistent and always a dependable happy hour/dinner. I waited to write this review due to 2 other below average visits, thinking they were "off their mark". No. Sadly. Went to Morton's Bubbles and Bites event. I'm so glad I went as I really enjoyed my dinner. It was a very nice special that included a glass of Veuve Clicquot, 2 beef sliders and truffle fries and boy did I enjoy myself. You had to sit in the bar to get the special but that was perfectly fine with me. My server Robert was awesome, he was very friendly and attentive. The meal was very tasty and filling. We dined at Morton's for AZ Restaurant Week, and we had a good experience. There's a ton of parking out front, which is always a plus. For restaurant week, they had some great options for $55 per person. We started with lavender cosmo's, Wagyu meatballs, and dumplings. The flavors were delicious, but the items were cold and needed to be reheated. The complimentary onion bread was absolutely delicious, and we dipped it in the marinara sauce from the meatballs. For dinner, we had lobster ravioli, salmon, cream spinach, and corn. Both entrees were hot, fresh, and flavorful. We also had the key lime pie for dessert. I went to Morton's recently, and it reminded me why classic steakhouses still matter. The filet mignon was incredible -- perfectly cooked, tender juicy and delicious, and seasoned just enough to let the flavor stand out without drowning in salt. The ribeye is rich, and honestly the kind of steak you keep thinking about later. Someone at the table got the New York strip, and it had that perfect crust you only get when a chef actually knows how to sear properly. The appetizers are worth the detour. The crab cake is all meat, no filler, with this mustard butter sauce that makes you want to sop up every last bit. And the French onion soup -- I don't know what they do differently, but the broth had this deep, slow-cooked flavor that most places rush through. Sides can make or break a steakhouse, and Morton's doesn't phone them in. The lobster mac and cheese is ridiculously rich, but in a good way. The Brussels sprouts with bacon somehow make vegetables feel indulgent. And the Lyonnaise potatoes were so simple but perfect -- crispy edges, soft inside, and not greasy. Dessert was the famous hot chocolate cake, and yeah, it deserves the hype. Molten center, just sweet enough, paired with vanilla ice cream -- the kind of thing that makes you forget how full you are. Service was professional without being stiff -- the kind of staff who know when to show up and when to give you space. Prices are definitely on the high side, but nothing felt careless or wasted. Everything -- from timing to temperature -- was handled right. In short, Morton's isn't trendy, and it doesn't need to be. Did not take off any stars for this, but as I was walking out the chef that was making the filets had his phone up to his ear in one had and moving the filets around in the other. Kind of gross. For the prices - the food is pretty basic. Could opt out for Outback Steakhouse, save some $$ and eat nearly the same thing.

This is actually one of my favorite steakhouses. The sea bass is so yummy as well as their salad with apples candies walnuts with goat cheese. Service was very quick and attentive. The overall restaurant is a little bit dark inside, but for a steakhouse is not quite as busy or crazy feeling as others. We decided to go for Restaurant Week. What a great experience! Shawn, our server, made sure we wanted for nothing. My beautiful bride ordered Caesar salad, lobster ravioli, and expresso pot de crème for desert. I ordered the french onion soup, the 8 oz filet, and key lime pie for desert. We had found some gift cards for a Landry property so we thought we'd try out Morton's. Morton's used to be one of Chicago's best steakhouses. Since we only had $50 we thought we'd try their happy hour. It was average at best and sadly not up to Morton's of back in the day. I had the go to for most steakhouse happy hours. The hamburger. But not just any hamburger here. It's a fake wagyu burger which should be better than your regular burger. It wasn't, it was kinda dry and not very flavorful. Their fries are shoestring but kinda blah. I also had the French Onion Soup. For $12 or maybe it was even $14 it was truly disappointing. It totally lacked any flavor or seasoning. The cheese was as bland as can be. Hard pass on this one. My wife had a shrimp thing. Those shrimp you see in the picture are actually slit in half so you're only getting 2 shrimp, not 4. They were ok but not worth the price. Overall pretty disappointing. The service was very good and the staff was very attentive. As for the ambiance. Standard steakhouse decorations. We found another $50 gift cards so maybe one more try or Rainforest Cafe. read more

I love this place for a special occasion meal, yes it is expensive but I don't splurge like this often. It's my birthday present to myself and the rack of lamb is my go to meal here. Start with the good: Staff was very friendly. Greeted immediately and made effort as she sat us. Waiter attentive, food runner respectful. Steaks were perfect, ordered rare and we mean it. They were rare with a perfect crust. Onion bread out of this world. I love it every visit. The bad: Shrimp cocktail mealy, no real snap and not as fresh as it should be. Off white in color. Mashed potatoes lumpy, for a steak house they should be smooth as silk. Not rustic like at a diner. They were also burned, as if reheated in a pan for too long. Last very dry, lacked dairy. Couldn't eat them. Lobster Mac and cheese, my son gets this everywhere it's on the menu. It was grainy, as if the cheese sauce split. Not velvety. Again we didn't eat it. I worked in Burbank for over 20 years and loved our Morton's for lunch especially. When we got to Scottsdale we started coming to the one in Kierland. Since the pandemic we have been seeing it go downhill and go less and less. My wife and I took a friend Friday at 4pm and it was a mixed bag. First of all Ron, our bartender/server was awesome. Five stars for him. While the bread, shrimp cocktail and even the new dumplings were great, t work of us ordered the new "Smashburger". #1 bun was the gigantic bun the old hamburgers were served on. However, the 3 burger patties were stacked on top of each other and way, way smaller than the bun. So weird. They were also very try and not really smashed. Lastly, my biggest issue is the way the bar is set up. We not just reserve a table but the seats at the bar touch. So during Happy Hour it's not only hard to get in and out of your seat but you are in top of the people on both sides of you...kind touching...in the middle of their food and conversation. I know they are trying to make their money but last night a git at the bar dropped his phone and people on both sides of him had to get up to let him out. read more

I have to say I was skeptical because I thought Mortons was just for the old people or people who weren't cool enough for the Dominick's or steak 44 etc. I had a date take me here and I have to say it was actually one of the best meals with the best service had in awhile... and it was quiet enough we could have a great conversation. Dinner for restaurant week. Fabulous experience. Been to Morton's in Chicago which was always a consistently good experience. The Scottsdale location did not disappoint. Ordered off the special menu; french onion soup, waygu dumplings, lobster ravioli, filet mignon, creamed spinach, onion rings. I ordered a glass of malbec which was extra as well as any other alcohol or soft drink. We also upgraded the dessert to their chocolate lava cake as well as coffee. Went to Morton's to celebrate our anniversary We've been to the Morton's probably about 10 times at the white tank Desert Diamond Casino mostly all positive good food atmosphere but last night 12/4/2025 we ordered the large filet with a lobster tail The lobster tail was defrosted to fast so it was mushy and rubbery and the filet tasted like liver My Husband hates to complain but when the Manager came over I told him about the lobster I hadn't tasted the Filet yet but did ask for some salt hoping that would make it taste better it did not ! So at the end of the meal I'm not sure what the server said but I did get they gave us a dessert for free and it was $17 I thought ok so for $175 that includes a tip ( and that was one dinner and salad that we split& 2 drinks -it's just not worth it so won't be going back there for dinner anymore we have had great experiences at the bar drinks and the appetizers are good. read more

We have been to Mortons in California several times before and their service, attention to detail, food, etc, all that was far superior to our experience at the Scottsdale location. It started off great. Our waitress was training someone and maybe that's why the service was lacking a bit. I ordered water to start. We saw the waitress and her trainee right after receiving our food. About 10 min into the meal i wanted a margarita, and he wanted another beer but she never came back till we were more than half way thru eating and decided its kinda late now we're just about done. All the while no water refills at all. We saw a guy going around with the water, thought he'd stop by and refill but he walked passed the table a few times. So we thought maybe he only serves his tables. Our waitress was very nice, we were just expecting the same type of service and attention as in California. Where they scraped crumbs off your table in between, seemed like They always were there. As for the food, the steaks were good. The sides we could of done without. That's our fault. We were thinking the sides would be much like other restaurants weve been to in Scottsdale. The Mac and cheese has a liquidy cheese sauce vs actual cheese and not much flavor, and the Brussels Sprouts were definitely missing any seasoning and were a tuff. This was one of the big three that I hadn't yet visited and for my birthday in Scottsdale, I chose to visit this one. We went on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy when we walked in. They made a menu with my name on it and I already knew that I wanted their 16oz steak with a fully loaded baked potato with no sour cream. Both they and Ruth's Chris put sour cream on it, but the difference between them was that Morton's brought me out the same-sized potato, because that is what truly counts. My girlfriend went with a Caesar salad (which I tried and was good) and then took a sip of her French onion soup. She went with the lobster ravioli and told me it was amazing. The service was top notch and they brought out that potato real fast to the point that I was impressed as hell. They had creme brulee and it didn't come close to what I have experienced so far, but it was a nice gesture to let me gave dessert for my bday. read more

The atmosphere in this restaurant is very lively! Definitely make a reservation because it gets crowded. They have valet or a parking lot. The service was a bit slow but it was busy. They don't have a very extensive wine by the glass list. The bread & Caesar salad were very good but the filet mignon and the lobster were extremely underwhelming. The lobster was over cooked and rubbery. The filet was a low quality meat that had no flavor. The mashed potatoes were also flavorless. I was pretty sure I already posted a review, but seems its gone.. HMMM. Food: Seafood was good, the two steaks that were ordered were over salted, ruining the fact that they were prepared perfectly to temp. It was our son's b-day and he's a big fan of the chocolate souffle; which we found out was no longer offered. Lobster was solid, as was the lobster Mac. French onion soup was 1/2 bread, so a bit of a ripoff. Service: Good as expected. Overall: As someone else had noted, maybe the acquisition by Landry's is part of the drop off in quality. Don't go to Morton's Steakhouse. Went for dinner last night. My Mom ordered the King crab legs 1lb. When our dinner came out. Mom had only half a crab leg on her plate which is nowhere near a pound. We brought this up to the GM Aam Cook. He lacked concern, customer service, Adam had plenty of attitude. If you look at the reviews on here Adam has more complaints bringing down the ratings of this restaurant. Will not be going back. read more

First time dining here and a little nervous due to the mixed reviews. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and seated immediately. The whole place looked very nice and perfect for our date night. Our server was Grace, she did a wonderful job all night. We started off with the bread and butter. The bread was nice and warm and had an onion crust, very good. I had a glass of moscato and my husband a soda. We split a wedge salad as our appetizer, very good. My husband ordered the filet and lobster tail ordered medium. When the steak came out he said it looked like it was ok. He ate his lobster tail first and said it was good but when he went to eat his fillet next it was well done. He didn't say anything because we had already told our server everything was good. I ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare. The temperature was perfect and had a good flavor but it did seem a little tough to cut and had some gristle. For our sides we ordered the mashed potatoes and mushrooms with onions but asked for no onions. The mushrooms were still almost raw, not sure if that's the way they serve them there or not. I was ok with them but my husband was not so we asked to have them cooked a little longer. They came back out and were still hard, they were not like sautéed mushrooms should be. For dessert we both had the crème brûlée which was very good but my husband's dish was bigger than mine, not sure how that works. I also had an after dinner coffee (alcoholic) it was good but very strong. All in all it was a good night despite a few hiccups. read more
