We celebrated our anniversary at Morton's last Saturday. As soon as we stepped out of the car and into the restaurant we were treated especially nice. The valet, the hostess and our server were great. Michelle did wonderfully advising my husband what each cut of steak was like. She was attentive and there when we had a question. The food was great. From start to finish this was the perfect night at Morton's! We were greeted at the door with enthusiasm and kindness by the host. Great start to the night. Our server Kaedyn was attentive and went above and beyond the whole night to make us feel extra special for our anniversary. The bone in rib eye was cooked to perfection and the blue cheese butter was an amazing enhancement. We had the creamed spinach (always a favorite) and the truffle corn was great also. Came on a Tuesday evening with colleagues from work. Overall, it was an okay dining experience. Easy parking and coat check is a plus. Our bottle of wine took about 20 minutes to come out, and we were nearly finished with appetizers before it came out. We ordered several steaks, and many of them had absolutely no crust. For being a steakhouse, not nailing a good crust is upsetting. The cook/temp on the steak was perfect, but there was honestly little to no flavor. Sides, dessert, and service was great, but we did have an extra lobster tail on our bill that we never ordered. If you're looking for a nice steakhouse to spend some money at, there's at least 5 spots within 2 miles that are much better. read more

Took our cousins out tonight as a "thank you" for hosting us this week. The hostess was so welcoming and seated us promptly. Service was timely at first. There were only a handful of tables this Wednesday evening. It was very difficult to read the menu, drink list and wine list due to poor lighting. Ordered drinks, dinner & wine. The wine steward/manager(?) was oddly "bothered". Not sure it was us but it was a strange encounter. Our dinners were delivered in a timely manner and we enjoyed the food and wine immensely. However, once we were done with our main courses, we seemed to be forgotten. Table was cleared. We were asked if we wanted to take the rest of the potatoes au gratin home and we said "yes". Our server whisked them away to the kitchen to be boxed up.....but they were never seen again. We weren't asked about dessert or after dinner drinks. We were presented with a check and that was that! Very brusque service midway through the end. As I said before, it was not a busy night and there appeared to be good staffing. Can't understand. Not what I had come to expect of a Morton's. I haven't been to this location in a while the last time I was here it was absolutely amazing. This time was a whole different story. We ordered a filet, house salad, lemon drop with sugar around the rim and vodka on ice with stuffed green olives Our waiter was very nice and he did a fine job. The food sadly was not the same quality the mashed potatoes were so lumpy and cold. The filet was cold . The last time we ate there our filets were piping hot the mashed potatoes were silky smooth and hot. Our waiter was kind enough to take it back and heat it up but it just wasn't the quality that we are used to getting at Morton's. My drink was delicious I loved it. Unfortunately I can't recommend going to this location now. I really used to love going here. We will try it again in a few months to see if anything changes. read more

Let me start off with saying this was my first time visiting this establishment - Morton's steakhouse. Troy Michigan location I. It was my birthday weekend. I thought I'd give this restaurant a try based on a special they posted on their website for the month of February menu for a three course meal for $65 per person. The waitress Charlotte was phenomenal. She exuded professionalism positivity, and a beautiful personality her eye contact her knack for making a customer feel appreciated was chefs kiss. I did notice other tables that she waited on that was in proximity of where we were seated, She had the same vibes with the other guest. She had the same vibes with the other guest phenomenal now back to the special for Morton's. It was a switch and bait. I was informed that the February special that was just for Valentine's Day however on their website, it clearly stated from 18 February to the 28th of this special was available and the pricing switching was a turn off for me finding that I was being in charge for stuff that I thought came with it but other than that, everything was OK my food was OK. I ordered lamb chops well done they were burned I guess some chefs considered well done as burnt, but I didn't want to put up a fuss other than that the ambience the atmosphere everything just beautiful. Would I go back again I'm not sure simply things like sauce that u think come with the dish u are being charged for add your total up on your bill I wasn't thrill about that read more

We went for happy hour after not having been in years. I would have been very angry if we'd paid full prices. We ordered "thick cut onion rings" and what we got looked like frozen and baked Ore-ida onion rings. We also got the shrimp wedges, described as jumbo shrimp on top of small wedge salads. The shrimp were tiny and also cut in half...insulting! The crab cakes were actually decent but tiny and way overpriced. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Valet was horrible and rude! I attended a dinner party with complimentary valet. I usually tip valet $10-$20. When I arrived, valet told me to "remember to tip him well" I was taken aback by the statement but I just dismissed it. When I was leaving, the valet went to get everyone's vehicle. I was conversing with a nice couple who was also waiting for their vehicle. When he returned my truck, he shouted at me, "Your friends' didnt tip me! I'm like, "oh well, that unfortunate. I'll talk to them." His response was what's that going to do?! I asked, "Then why are you telling me?! I have nothing to do with that I'm standing here, waiting for my vehicle with your tip in my hand so why are you accousting me?! Valet: because they're your friends! Now, based off his attitude when we first met and knowing how my friends are normally great tippers, I was certain is was something he did but it could have been an oversight. I was about to tip him for them and just get it back later but his attitude was terrible and unprofessional. He took the tip out my hand and walked away. I said, "you're welcome" He rolled his eyes at me. I asked, "You can't say thank you?" He shouted, "No, because your friends didn't tip?!" I walked back inside the restaurant to talk to the manager. The manager apologized and I was getting ready to leave. The Valet came storming into the restaurant and started hollering and screaming, "I don't care who you tell! They can't do anything to me! I'm my own boss! And it's your fault and it's not right because your friends didn't tip!" The manager and all the patrons were just as shocked as me! It was so embarrassing! I just left because things were just going to escalate. I called people from the dinner party to ask what happened and just like I thought, he did a lot of things that warranted him not getting tip. One guest's vehicle was pulled from across the parking lot and he almost struck 2 cars that was passing by. She told him she didn't like how carelessly he was driving her car and he said, "whatever!" Three other guests came outside and their cars were there with the driver's door open with rain all over the seat and no valet in sight. All wondered what kind of valet is this?! They dried off their seats and left. Two other guests said they tipped him. Our evening was going great. The staff were amazing, the food was good, the company was grea, but the valet experience put a damper on my entire evening. I'm still upset because I didnt do anything to him. I was so embarrassed! I told him he might as well blame me for his lack of tips from last week too. He needs to take a customer service course and some accountability for his own actions! read more

Morton's food is solid, but not phenomenal. I feel like it's no better than cheaper steaks at other restaurants. Why you pay such exorbitant rates at Morton's is for the service. I told my husband that Morton's is how I imagine an old school restaurant would have been, before eating out was such a normal thing; the servers have less tables and therefore more time for you. We purposely got an earlier reservation to ensure even better service and weren't disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, but not over $100 for two steak dinners great. Would I go back? I've been here before but it has been a while. We were really looking forward to this dinner. We had a reservation. It took us a while to get seated. We waited 30 minuted for a waitress. When she finally came over, we had to ask her if we could order drinks and she said she had a table to go to before us. We finally did put in a drink order and when they came it was 45 minutes after we sat down. Wine came in a carafe but there wan't a wine glass. A dirty martini came without the olives. NA beer wasn't cold. We ordered 3 salads and 1 came out 15 minutes before the other 2. Nobody ever refilled our water despite numerous requests.We had to ask what the specials were when we saw lobsters go by; the waitress did not mention. Steaks were good. $14 baked potato had skin like leather and inside was not soft. It was lukewarm and not salted. No coffee/tea or dessert offered at the end of the meal. Dishes were cleared while some of us were still eating our meals. This is a very expensive restaurant. We won't go back. read more

Came to Morton's to celebrate my dads birthday. Overall we had a very nice time. Our server was fantastic and very hospitable and knowledgeable on the menu! The food was good. Everyone in my party liked their meal and it was all well cooked. I am spoiled and have tried a lot of good seafood dishes and I ordered the sea bass and it was just okay to me. It tasted a little too fishy for me. What I liked the best was surprisingly the salad! I also really enjoyed the truffled fries. I just wish the other sides and my fish had a bit more flavor. We have eaten at the bar in this Morton's many times and we absolutely love their burger and more casual fare on the bar menu. Id recommend coming and eating on the bar side Vs the dining room. The bartender makes great drinks! My only other comment is the dinner took over two hours which was fine for us since we were celebrating a birthday and in no rush. But good to know if you're considering coming on a limited time frame. All of the steak was cooked to the correct temperature so I'm sure that's why it took a longer time since it's made to order! All in all it was a nice meal spent with family and I ate all the food but none of the flavors blew me away and left me raving. But this is a great restaurant with good service and also take my review with a grain of salt as I do not eat steak and this is a steak place, the other members of my party who had steaks all really liked theirs. read more

Yelp considers 3-stars to be Okay. This is a "Could've been better" 2-star review. We visited for the Thanksgiving prix fixe meal being offered. I did not really study the menu before making our reservation - it's Thanksgiving, right? Turkey and the usual sides, right? Well ... the sides were a bit of a miss for us because some of portion sizes were disappointingly teenie, tiny, skimpy. We arrived a few minutes before our 3PM reservation and were seated after a bit of computer gymnastics. At one point I assumed that they had lost our reservation or perhaps entering nuclear launch codes. I offered our reservation number. Not necessary, she had it. Dunno why all the computer work and frowning. First impressions? Dark - too dark (for my aging eyes). More on this later. Water and Morton's signature onion roll arrived promptly. Soon enough our server arrived with the beverage and standard menus and asking if we'd like cocktails. Yes, please. Our server's mocktail recommendations were spot-on. But no mention of the Thanksgiving meal ... I inquired ... she replied that she would need to check, but was uncertain if the Thanksgiving meal was already sold-out as it was late. Huh? 3PM on Thanksgiving Day and possibly sold-out? Ruh-roh. I also learned that there is a strict no-substitutions policy. Oh. Dessert was pumpkin cheese cake for a guy that detests the taste of pumpkin. We placed our mocktail and meal orders immediately. Somehow during this exchange, she never mentioned and we never asked about ordering appetizers. We should have ordered appetizers. The bar service is slooow. Without prompting, she stopped by multiple times to apologize for the slow bar service. Another onion roll arrived. The salads arrived soon enough - nicely prepared, not under or over dressed. The mocktails finally arrived. Yay! Very tasty. No regrets. And another long-ish wait for our meals. Never updated as to whether we were getting the turkey dinner we anticipated; or, would we be ordering from the menu? Surely we would not be kept waiting this long only to be told to place a different order? I began to worry. Suddenly our turkey dinners were served. Yay! Hot food, hot. Cold food, cold. Turkey? Moist and a reasonable portion. Mashed potatoes were the real deal; creamy, warm and just enough small lumps to remind us that this was not from a box. Loved the corn souffle! Gravy? Good. The misses: The meal served did not resemble the meal pics advertised. - Dressing. One fork worth of dressing. One. Uno. It was excellent, but why so skimpy? The pic advertising the meal included a reasonable portion of dressing ... enough dressing for a bit with every bite of turkey. I love dressing. It was a wonderful, single bite. Disappointed. - Cranberry relish. One & one-half fork worth of cranberries. Again; excellent and skimpy. I love cranberry relish. Disappointed. - Morton's PoS system is a POS. It "ate" my CC. The check included a QR code. Fantastic! I love to use the automated, electrontic (Apple Pay) checkout. Review. Appove. Tip. Double-click. Done. Nope! This is a ghastly NCR offering that simply took me to a webpage where I had to manually enter my CC info ... and I struggled to read my CC info because it was too damn dim inside. I entered all my info and pressed Pay. Chase immediately sent me a text message that my card was stolen and that I would receive a new card in 5-7 days. Sigh. I paid cash and left with my (no substitutions!) pumpkin cheese cake. Will I return? Unlikely. I feel snookered and disappointed. Note to Morton's execs. Your CTO has failed you: - Ditch whatever check-in system you are using and return to paper & pencil. - Stop printing QRcodes on the checks. The user-experience of your NCR technology is bad, horrible, ghastly, unacceptable. Whenever suggesting QR electronic payment, it should immediately link to Apple, Google, Samsung payment systems. If my favorite family-owned, neighborhood taqueria can figure it out, surely the whizbangs at Landry's head shed can do better! read more
