Like an alley outside a club or the NY subway. I should have walked out right there. I mean big red flag right? Let's get to the drinks and food. My Mango Martini wasn't a Mango Martini. No idea what it was, but it was bitter and unbalanced. The mushroom soup was bland and the salad, consisting of too big lettuce leaves, was soaked in ginger dressing. The hibachi show was lackluster. The fried rice was over salted, the chicken and shrimp was soaked in some sort of bland teriyaki sauce. The veggies were nearly cooked. We were served just the yum yum sauce and had to ask for ginger sauce. The ginger sauce was either chunky or watery. Our server was attentive. It was the worst hibachi meal I've ever had. The sushi is great and so are all the staff here! After a long day of traveling I stopped in here to grab a quick bite and it absolutely hit the spot. I started with salmon, tuna, and eel sushi and it was excellent. A great way to start the meal and then I finished it off with a soft shell crab and spicy tuna roll that was insanely good. I wish my stomach was bigger cause I didn't want to stop eating. I came in an hour before closing time on a Saturday night and it seemed fairly empty, which is surprising for how good this place is. I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant came recommended, and it hugely disappointed us. I am a long-time hibachi fan, going back almost 30 years. When we entered and were seated, we noticed an extremely strong, pungent smell, reminiscent of a veterinary clinic, that never quite went away for the whole evening. This is on whomever is managing the establishment; it is not clean, and the smell was overwhelming. Our server was otherwise attentive to our table, and that is the only highlight I can share. My appetizer, a sashimi, lacked in presentation and freshness. The green was not shiso, and the shredded vegetable was not daikon. I'm OK when one is missing/substituted, but not both. And it's a red flag for me when the cuts are separated by slices of lemon. Together, these are signs of failure to execute, but not on the part of the preparer. They were instructed and guided. The cooking experience was off. The hibachi chef ran through the usual motions, but aside from being tossed raw zucchini and sprayed cold sake (which he pronounced "sack-eee" like he's accommodating a gaggle of unsophisticated, provincial 'murican's), we experienced very little in flair, and the chef failed to stack or properly ignite a proper onion volcano. Hibachi is expensive. In addition to the spectacle of the show, it needs to be prepared in a manner that appeals to the palate, if only marginally. Our proteins and vegetables were under-seasoned, except for the fried rice, which was extremely salty. And we were only served yum yum sauce. What on earth is yum yum sauce? Where did the Chinese mustard sauce go? I had to request ginger sauce, which was unable to overcome the lack of seasoning in the dishes, and was fundamentally incompatible with the beef. Overall, such a negative experience that I had to write about it. read more

Poor service and tiny portions, not great for groups Rating: The food here is fairly average, nothing spectacular and certainly not worth the headache we dealt with. We brought a group of tweens, and the portion sizes were disappointing. The starters in particular were tiny (honestly, only good for feeding the birds), which made it difficult to satisfy a larger group. The real issue, however, was the service. Our waitress was incredibly rude and completely lacked professionalism. She messed up my order by bringing a salad instead of the miso soup I asked for. When I pointed it out, she was unapologetic, even claiming I had already eaten a salad with soup just because there were extra salads on the table that we hadn't even touched. After I insisted that I still wanted the soup I actually ordered, she finally brought it out and smashed the bowl down on the table with one hand. When I told her I didn't appreciate the attitude, she dismissively snapped that the "soup was hot" as an excuse. Between the mediocre food and the hostile service, I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking for a pleasant dining experience. [Update] Service was almost non-existent, yet they added a mandatory gratuity of around $54 for our group of 11. The fee that was never disclosed to us beforehand. Under Massachusetts law, these fees must be transparently shared before ordering. We were happy to pay for the food, but forcing a high-service fee for 'service' that was nearly non-existent, objectively poor and undisclosed is unacceptable. read more

Michael was our server and was absolutely fantastic and attentive. He came at the exact times we needed him. He even offered my little one a Japanese soda that wasn't on our radar! And it was SO cute to watch him crack open the fizzy cube that went in. That ALONE started our night off right! This was our 6 year old daughter's first time at a hibachi and she was BEYOND involved in the whole show. OH! And, this little picky eater of a girl, LOVED her food. I enjoyed that they had a kid menu that was reasonably priced and over-portioned. The chef definitely did his thing. Great, entertaining show and he was super mindful to not scare my daughter with his fire skills (or burn off my fake lashes, lol). They asked about allergies, preferences, done-ness, etc. and were super thorough about our requests. This family absolutely recommends. Terrific show. Great food. This place is tucked in the Apex Center. Super modern multi colored lighting with hibachi and sushi available. When walked in I could hear the excitement from the hibachi. This is our go to local sushi restaurant!! we usually order for pickup but we occasionally sit down and eat at a table. we get the same server almost every time and shes great! answers all my questions and makes sure we have everything we need! We always start with the pan fried gyozas and we KEEP the gyoza sauce to put on the rest of our food (its so good) the spicy salmon or tuna roll is my go to. the shrimp tempura roll is my other favorite, but when im with my boyfriend (who can't eat shrimp) we get the sweet potato tempura roll & its also SO good. and the delicious roll is just as it states! i always get the Mongolian Mai Tai and try a new drink after our first round of sushi. Recently tried "The Awakening" martini, which is their chocolate espresso martini. I liked it & will probably get it again next time! also wanted to add that anywhere I have ever picked up food from has always messed up at least one part of my order but that NEVER happens here. This place has gone through different owners, changes and so this is a new review. Place is still well decorated and fancy, and the food is really good. I have my favorite (I'm so partial to FENG in Hudson), but I can't complain about how good the sushi was. I am a fan of "popcorn shrimp" and the presentation is cute in a martini glass, but hard to navigate, and deceiving with all the greens they put underneath - you think there is more, but ALAS! you get to the greens below and you feel lost in translation, yearning for more of the hot, crispy and delicious lil buggers. They have some interesting rolls that are really good, the Y2K with the yellowtail and tempura shrimp is actually 2 rolls in one, so for $16 (give or take) you get about 8 slices instead of 4. And if you double my fried shrimp, I'm your friend... Topped with spicy yellowtail mixture. Really good. Good food, good service. Excellent? No, but it can be. read more

One of our kids is a picky eater so we asked for a half avocado with a spoon for him. The charge for that was $6. Mosaka is one of those chain restaurants that knows they have you. The food is good with a selection of both hibachi, teriyaki, and sushi on the menu. The service was pretty terrible though the server friendly. I had to ask for water twice which I never received, and had to ask to order as she forgot to take the from 6 people at our table of 20. I appreciate that a table for 20 is annoying and she was trying but none of the food came out together. First of all the service was terrible, our waitress had no idea what was on the menu and was very unfriendly. the dining room only had two tables full of people. We ordered the chicken satay, which was just cut up chicken thigh meat and the peanut sauce was not edible, the garlic broccoli was a mushy mess with no taste. The Tom Yam soup was mediocre at best, we also ordered two sushi rolls that we couldn't even finish. It was definitely not at all a great meal and was expensive. We left there hungry and grossed out. This is our first time back since it used to be Okami. A much better experience this time around. We went on a Monday and didn't wait at all. They had multiple chefs available for the hibachi unlike okami where you had to wait for a very long time even with a reservation. Food was delicious and the chef was very fun! We went for my sons birthday and he had a great time. They sang him a song at the end and played it over the speaker and he got a free sundae and a fun Mario keychain! They also brought dum dum lollipops out for both my kid which made my daughter so happy since it wasn't her birthday and she still got something.
