The food was mid, and what I'd expect for the prices here. I say mid just because it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for a hibachi place such as this, and the portions were lacking. We would go again if in the area and felt like celebrating something.

Appetizers and entrees include soups, salads, tempura, ramen, lots of sushi, teriyaki, hibachi, etcetera. Beverages include a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Prices are average. My husband and I walked into this restaurant during a busy time, but the employees still promptly seated us in a nice private room. The waitress was friendly, and she promptly took our order and brought out our drinks. Later on, she got busy with other customers, so a different employee kindly gave us drink refills and cleared our table. As for the drinks and food: My husband said that his tea was way too strong. The sides of soup and salad were good. My crab rangoon contained lots of cream cheese and was OK compared to other restaurants' crab rangoon. My vegetable hibachi consisted of fresh and flavorful broccoli, carrots, onions, zucchini, and mushrooms. My husband said that his Phoenix tuna sushi and his steak hibachi were good. On the side were fried rice and noodles.

I wish I could do zero stars. My son and a group of his friends, 15-16 yrs old, go get dinner…read moretogether once a month. Yesterday they went to this place. Their entire bill came to $221, $27 of which is the mandatory tip. They all hand their cash to one boy to pay the bill and he inadvertantly put all of the cash in the bill folder. They gave the waitress a total of $310 dollars. She took the money, left and came back with the receipt, but no change. The kids didn't know what to do when and were reluctant to confront the waitress so they came to the parking lot to get me. I spoke with the manager, explained what happened and asked how to fix the problem. The waitress automatically goes off in Chinese for six solid minutes, yelling at the manger. He then looked at me and said she claimed the kids gave her exact change. I can tell you she was lying because she got the exact total wrong then corrected herself. Then she quoted the next amount which ended in an odd number, saying that's what the kids gave her. All the kids gave big bills, no $1 were given. That's the second lie. The manager said he would review the camera footage and get back to me. He didn't. I called him the next day and 430pm and he said he was too busy to look at it. I got him to look at it while I was on the phone. He did. Twenty minutes on hold and he came back and told me that the cameras stopped working at 604, which happened to be right before the kids paid the bill (odd), and he didn't see the kids transaction or what the waitress did with it. Either the waitress went all oceans 11 on the $87 overage, or she split it with the manager I say. Bottom line. At best their wait staff takes advantage of people, at worst they're theives. Either way, they'll never get a another dime out of me or the parents of the 9 other kids families. Seems to me like it would not be worth $87 but I guess it is to them.

Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse: A Culinary Circus Worth the Ticket Price!…read more If you're looking for a dining experience that's part delicious meal, part family-friendly magic show, look no further than Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse in Youngstown! Seriously, it's like dinner and a Broadway show all rolled into one -- but with fewer awkward intermissions and more sizzling meats. First off, let's talk about the entertainment. The hibachi chefs are like culinary ninjas, flipping shrimp, tossing knives, and making onions erupt into volcanoes -- all while keeping your kids (and your inner child) giggling uncontrollably. It's the kind of show that makes you wonder if you should have brought your own popcorn. Now, onto the drinks! Their sake is so good, it might just make you want to do a happy dance in your seat (trust me, I did). And for only $18 a bottle, their wine is a steal! Who knew you could enjoy a fancy bottle without feeling like you needed to take out a small loan? And let's not forget the food. The filet mignon? Let's just say it's what dreams are made of. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection -- I might just start a petition for them to serve it as a breakfast option. Now, if you're feeling adventurous, don't miss out on the swordfish, which is a rare find in these parts! Just a heads up, though: there are no noodles with the fried rice, which is a bit of a bummer. But the vegetables and meats more than make up for it -- they're absolutely amazing! Pro tip: If you swing by on a Saturday at lunchtime, you can snag any hibachi meal with the full show for almost half price! I mean, who doesn't love getting a wild performance and a fantastic meal without breaking the bank? In summary, Sawa Hibachi Steakhouse is my go-to spot for a reason. With mouthwatering dishes, a show that'll have you laughing and clapping, and prices that won't make your wallet cry, it's the perfect place for a family outing or a fun date night. So grab your friends, family, or that person you've been trying to impress, and get ready for an unforgettable experience! Trust me, your taste buds will thank you, and your Instagram will be begging for a post!

The grilled unagi-yaki was fine, but a bit floppy and not well done as asked. The age-tofu was okay appetizer but the bonito flakes were dried out. The shrimp tempura was a heavy cloying batter a half inch thick on undercooked vegetables The udon soup was not a dashi, murin and soy sauce, but resembled something closer to Pho soup or maybe minestrone soup. Couldn't even start on that. They took three minutes to find a set of chopsticks, must be rarely requested? I left most of it uneaten and apologized profusely to the waiter that it wasn't well prepared and I couldn't finish it. To his credit, he offered to replace it with something else, but I just paid and left very disappointed. After 5 years in rural Japan and 20 years back in the states, among the five lowest restaurants I've encountered (outside of fastfood mall stores). Went to a convenience store and got a burrito instead for the night.
