It's a wonderful restaurant for a bite after a hike through the boulder fields, walk through the Preserve neighborhood, or if you just happen to be in the area. There is plenty of outdoor seating along the street and on a side patio. Dogs are always welcome in the outdoor areas. Indoor seating is also available, and there is a full-service bar. Today I had the Shrimp Taco Plate. The two flour tortillas are topped with three large grilled shrimp. The shrimp are then topped with pineapple mango salsa, cilantro-lime crema and Tajin seasoning. THIS Restaurant CLOSED. I have always loved this restaurant. I always get à la carte tacos. My son loves the cheese dip and the kids beef taco meal. Unfortunately, this restaurant closed as of the Sunday before Labor Day. I am very disappointed because I would go there about once a week. The space will reopen as a gelato restaurant or store. Not sure when. I try to eat very healthy so gelato is not on my radar. My son doesn't really like gelato/ice cream either. If I'm going to indulge in ice cream, I always go to Bluff Park ice cream. Location is cute, food is alright. The guacamole was very good - it was super fresh. I ordered the taco salad and was underwhelmed. The pineapple mango salsa doesn't blend well with the other flavors in the bowl. The beef is not very seasoned/flavorful... the cheese on top is what looks like Walmart brand shredded "Mexican cheese." Ambiance is good, patio is cute. The best salsa I've ever eaten! It's a little spicy, savory, but bright and refreshing all at the same time. Their thin, crispy chips are the perfect accompaniment. (Salsa and chips are endless so be sure to ask for more when you run out!) Queso is amazing and creamy as well. They have quite the plethora of taco options. I love that you can pick any two and make it a meal. I opted for the Buffalo chicken taco that includes house made "screaming buffalo" sauce, bleu cheese and queso fresca - emphasis on the screaming because this was ~spicy~. I also got the pescado which includes grilled fish, poblano slaw, pineapple mango salsa & cilantro. I always LOVE the option of a corn tortilla. The rice and black beans were nothing to write home about but good nonetheless. You place your order at the counter then find a seat - very casual. It's eclectically decorated and feels welcoming. Staff was very friendly. They have a nice outdoor area that'll be great for summer. But for now, have dinner there then ride around the Preserve neighborhood (that it's located in) and look at holiday lights! Adobo, Buffalo & Gringo were this weeks Two Buck Taco Tuesday special and I chose 1 of each and an small order of Million Peso Queso. Service was a bit slow, not sure if they were short staff or that is typical since this was my first visit. I chose to sit outside as did most of the other patrons and enjoyed a nice pleasant early patio weather day. Queso was pretty typical but good enough that I finished it off. I liked all 3 tacos I tried and would get again. Buffalo was not too much heat and tempered well by the cheeses although I don't think I would like just that choice without another option. We tried to call a day ahead to reserve a table for 12. No one would answer the phone, so we left a voice mail and left a message on Facebook. No one ever returned our call or answered us. Tonight, we showed up, and they did not have a table for us. There was a table reserved for another party. I spoke to the manager, and he would not take responsibility and not even offer an apology. He said he could put a table together for about 7 people. So we're we supposed to tell 5 people sorry you can't join us? He also said we could sit outside, but it was cold and rainy. We have tried this restaurant many times and it has become increasingly worse. Sadly the visit this week will be out last! We went on Monday and it happened to be Kids eat free night. My daughter ordered a beef taco. Simple enough. When it arrived I looked at it and the beef was raw!!! Not just a small bit but a lot, completely raw. How do you miss that!!!!!!!! Went again. Still hate this place. My husband and I ordered apps and tacos and literally none of the food came out as described on the menu. The tacos didn't have any of the toppings they were supposed to come with, and by the time the server brought the toppings, all the food was cold. Same problem as before with the rice being improperly cooked-- mush mixed with uncooked grains. I've never been to a purported Mexican/Tex-mex/whatever this place is that can't cook rice. Well where to begin, we ordered 62.00 of food for 2 people and tipped , the only thing hot and fresh was the pork rinds and tater tots which they had to fry.
