I have been to the La Paz location in Mountain Brook several times and also the Ross bridge location however this is my first time at the Mount Laurel location. The area has really grown. There is a grocery store there ice cream shop and a bar. Even the firehouse looked really nice. I came here on a Friday. I was off decided to come here for lunch with my son. We both got quesadillas. He got the buffalo and I just got the chicken quesadilla. We got the cheese dip and it was delicious. I cannot remember our server's name, but he was a young man and he was attentive. I did visit the bathrooms and they were clean as was the restaurant. You do have a choice to either eat inside or outside. We ended up eating inside. I really love this location. Really good Mexican food in a lively atmosphere! This place was packed with live music on a Friday night. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The chip service arrived with both red and tomatillo salsas, and both were delicious. We also ordered the queso, but it was a little spicy for our taste. I ordered the Santa Fe enchiladas, and they were really delicious. Tender chunks of chicken breast were layered with corn tortillas and smothered in green chili sauce. The Mexican rice was also very good, but the black beans were a little bland. The steak street tacos were absolutely incredible! Best thing we ate! I came by for dinner with my boyfriend's family on Sunday. The service was very hot and miss. They brought out our cocktails quickly, but the children and those who ordered Cokes had to ask for their beverages again. Our food came out quickly and fresh, but one order was completely wrong. I come here all the time for trivia night and usually have a great experience, which is why tonight was so disappointing. Our server was extremely rude from the start. Forgot about us after getting us waters, chips and salsa. He brought me the wrong drink, admitted it was his mistake, and when I politely asked if it would be possible to get the correct one and asked if it would be a pain to switch the drink for the correct one and he said it would " yeah actually it would be a pain" and told me the one he gave me would still "get me drunk," which felt really unprofessional. After that, he disappeared for about 30 minutes before coming back to ask if the (wrong) drink was good. I said no, and only then did he decide he'd get me a new one--after previously saying it was a hassle. At that point, I just told him not to worry about it. We also politely asked if the fan near our table could be turned off, and that request was ignored as well. I've had so many fun nights here, but this experience was frustrating enough that it really stood out--in a bad way. My husband and I decided to grab dinner here tonight because we've always heard people talk about it. The food was good, but not great, and the service was kind of slow. I got the burrito gordo with chicken which was pretty average and my husband got the pork tamales which he thought was decent. He really enjoyed the chips and salsa though. The Mt. There were lots of work staff and slow service and there were only about 3 tables at the time at the restaurant. Took forever to get us drink orders but did manage to give us chips and salsa but still no drinks almost choked on a chip. Ask for one dip got a different one (didn't get charged for it!). By the time we had food I was so hungry. The salsa for dip were similar to store bought. The meat taste was so bland no amount of salt and pepper helped. They drench food in lime juice or hot spices to drown out the bland food. Listen the floor had so much salt probably from other patrons trying to get some flavor. My husband and I were visiting the Parade of Homes at Mt. Laurel. We thought we would stop and get a bite to eat. We had never eaten at LaPaz, so we thought we would give it a try. I ordered a meal that included 3 soft beef tacos. My first bite was a gush of drowned beef. No flavor and the tortilla was falling apart from all the water. I managed to get one down as I was really hungry. My husband ate about 4 bites of his food and said it was just a tasteless mess. Our server was nice and attentive and she did not seem suprised when I asked for the check and our plates were barely touched. The restaurant itself is dated. Rips in the seats and floors were pretty nasty. I expected way more from a restaurant in a neighborhood such as Mt. Laurel. This place needs a makeover from top to bottom. read more

This place is always our backup option when it's too long of a wait at Area 41. Everything here is average from the service to the food. Inside is kind of dark with little decor which is uncharacteristic of a Mexican restaurant. Service is never great but some days are better than others. Food is always average to slightly above but with so many Mexican restaurants in the area, this is never our first choice. There aren't a ton of dining options in Mt. Laurel which is why I'm guessing this place stays fairly busy. read more

I guess I have been living in Texas for too long, as the food at the Mt. Laurel location left a lot to be desired. It was just okay. And despite being the first person (and the only one for awhile) in the restaurant that day, the service was sooooo slow. Asked for salt from my non-smiling and zero personality waitress and never got it. When the male server came to deliver my meal, he was quick to get some salt for me, though. Oh, and despite the website showing Taco Tuesday specials, I was told that they hadn't done that since Covid. Then take it off the website. It's been four years. read more

Love coming to La Paz and sitting on their patio. Most Friday's they have live music. Some do not know you can get a half order of their quesadillas which is more than plenty for one person. We asked the manager about Gluten free options being my mom is celiac, and she was very knowledgeable and helpful to us with our needs. She made sure she met our needs. Note: This review is based off of appetizers and drinks...I haven't had a full meal here yet. I'm so excited that La Paz has come to Mt. Laurel! This space has been multiple restaurants over the past few years and I'm confident La Paz will be the one that finally sticks! I love the new decor (very rustic/Tex-Mex) and the patio is FABULOUS. The fire pit is going to come in handy in the cooler months. I sat at the bar to enjoy a few after-work drinks with coworkers and was warmly greeted by the bartenders. They were both very nice and added to the fun atmosphere. They have a number of specialty margaritas (frozen and on the rocks) along with a frozen "Sangria Swirl" that looked fabulous. Tequila isn't really my thing, so I opted for the ever-faithful Moscow Mule and a vodka soda. I was happy to see them use Fever Tree Ginger Beer in their Mule. For appetizers, we ordered guacamole and queso (their queso is legit. It has won fan favorite at the Salsa Showdown multiple years in a row for a reason). The portions were large (enough for four people to snack on). They aren't currently open for lunch during the week, which is a bummer, nor are they currently doing to-go orders, but I look forward to going back at some point and having a full meal! read more

I have tried so hard to support this neighborhood business but last night was the last straw. The service has always been less than spectacular but I do love the food. Last night, our waitress walked by our table several times occasionally throwing an unsmiling "I'll be with you in a minute" our way. About 15 min after we arrived, she finally took our drink order. We did order some queso and it came promptly. 45 minutes after we arrived, still no drinks and we had to stop her to see if she would take our food order. She (again without smiles or a bit of apology) said "everyone came in at once, we're understaffed and they've told us to pace our orders to the kitchen so they can keep up". Not exactly encouraging that if we ordered food we would get it anytime in the next millenium. We paid for the queso and left. So almost an hour of our time with no food and no drinks. I love the bartender, Muff! She remembers you from the first time you come to the bar and what you ordered. They also have a GREAT trivia night on Tuesdays. We rarely participate in the trivia, because we can't stay the whole time, but it makes for a very fun time while we are having dinner and drinks. If you can, stay for the prizes though! read more

Drinks weren't refilled, the kitchen messed up the quesadilla order. Manager laughed and walked away when I told him some of the problems.
