I stopped in for a to-go order. This restaurant is in the same plaza as my gym, yet I hadn't taken the time to eat here and I love Greek food. I ordered a chicken pita, no onion. It did NOT disappoint. Yes there was a smidge too much Taziki sauce, but that's easily remedied by asking for it on the side next time. The chicken was insanely tender and soooo flavorful and the pita was fresh. It's so quaint and cute in there, I'm looking forward to going back for a sit-down meal. read more

After a dissapointing visit to the Great Greek Mediterranean; my family and I decided to make a comeback to our newly discovered spot the Oliv Pit. I've already done a review on this place before and I'll get out the way that saying this place was great. But, there were 2 things worth noting for this update. 1) my family has actually been here already 5 times (including this one) which says a lot about the consistency here! And 2) we tried some different dishes worth noting below! The chicken pita wrap was saucy, had tender strips of chicken breast, and fresh veggies! Falafel wrap tasted homemade; instead of lead sinkers, these balls were airy and not greasy - yum! The gyro platter was awesome - gyro wasn't overly tough, and had aromatic flavors! Don't skip out on getting for a $1 more the greek salad side; definitely worth it! Overall, I still can't recommend this spot enough. Rating still reigns Supreme- 5/5! read more

After dragging ourselves around in 95+ degree heat, lunch needed to be light, fast, and not smothered in melted cheese or regret. Casual Greek at OLIV PIT in Boca it was. Rachel went with the spinach pie lunch special, which was upgraded with a beet salad and a side of tzatziki. The spiral-shaped spanakopita looked gorgeous--golden and crisp on the outside--but inside, it leaned more pastry than spinach, was undercooked and was underfilled. The beet salad was fresh and tangy with a little feta crumble, and the tzatziki had good herbal flavor. I mentioned to the owner on the way out that a traditional layered version might yield a better spinach-to-phyllo ratio and more consistent cooked result. She didn't disagree. Mom had the grilled chicken wrap with fries, which was fresh and well put together, though the heat and the day's appointments had understandably dulled everyone's appetite. I ordered the keftedes (Greek meatball) wrap with a side of lemon potatoes, and it was the standout. The meatballs had great seasoning and texture, the tzatziki was properly garlicky, and the wrap was packed with fresh tomato, red onion, and herbs. The potatoes were soft, lemony, and generously dusted with oregano and parsley--classic, no notes. Service was quick, portions satisfying, and the lunch specials are a solid value. I ordered the beef souvlaki pita and it came with a large hair in it. The waiter took the plate to the kitchen and brought it back out to me to specially pull out the hair and put the into his hand. When I asked for the check I was told that the chef is crazy and refused to let us leave without remaking the meal again which I did not want or order. When given the check the full meal was in the bill and they would not take it off despite having a hair in it. read more

We've been waiting over an hour and 15 minutes. Still no food. 2 1/2 hours for a casual local mediterranean meal is unacceptable!

What a fabulous lunch experience we had here. For some reason, I had thought this was one of those fast-food bowl mediterranean places, so I was extra happy to find out it was a regular restaurant when we stopped by. I'm not a big fan of bowls where everything is mushed together. The setting reminded me of a European cafe. The walls are decorated with cooking utensils. And the light fixtures are cheese graters over the light bulbs. Quite unique. They have their regular menu as well as a blackboard out front that lists lunch specials. We looked through both and a number of items appealed. My husband wasn't that hungry, so he opted for one of their lunch specials and I chose an appetizer. He got their soup and salad. The soup was the Greek lemon avgolemono soup (sorry about the spelling). It was a bowl full of lemony chicken broth with bits of chicken and rice. For a salad, he upgraded to their village salad -- that's the one without the lettuce. I think it was only $1.50 more to upgrade. The salad was crispy and freshly made. It was in a light dressing. A nice sized wedge of feta cheese rested on top. I got to have some of his salad. And I shared my appetizer of Greek style smelts with him. The small fried fish were perfectly cooked and crispy. There were two dipping sauces -- I used the mustard based one along with a squeeze of fresh lime. You don't find these on a menu that often or if you do, the fish are large and bony. These were delicious. For dessert, he had a slice of galaktoboureko. It's one of his favorites. He liked the middle layer of custard filling. I like the outside filo dough with the sweet syrup (I stole a few bites). I definitely want to come back here to try more of their menu. Loved the setting and the food. And to me, it's worth the drive even if I'm not in the area. read more

TL:DR: I do Not recommend this place due to poor quality food and even worse customer service. Avoid...Plenty of other great Mediterranean places around. ---- This used to be our go to place for dinner with the family as we love to support family owned businesses. The food a year ago was way better and the service was so nice and sweet and accommodating. Over the years this establishment has deteriorated. We were excited to eat here one evening and arrived to a half empty restaurant on a Saturday night and chose to sit outside. My brother and I arrived first and waited for our mother to arrive. We sat down and noticed our table was dim lit because of a big umbrella open and kindly asked to be moved to a table nearby. Our server, a bearded bald man, said grumpily "I have to go inside and see if we are expecting anyone first" he came back and said they were and we weren't able to move to any other table. Meanwhile the place remained half empty and the table we wanted remained unoccupied the remainder of our stay. While waiting for our third guest we were hungry and decided to put in an appetizer of our favorite falafel, some drinks and a water with no ice. My glass of wine arrives after a couple minutes. After a few minutes the falafel came and after tasting it, we realized this isn't the falafel they normally serve. It's hard flaky, devoid of flavor and stale. We thought perhaps some tahini would make it easier to go down so we requested this from the server. We wait unable to eat the remaining 2 falafel as they didn't taste good at all for the tahini to arrive. Meanwhile, I did not get the water with no ice and had to flag someone else to get it for me as our server was not around. We wait 10 mins until we decided to flag him down finally and remind him. Please keep in mind the restaurant is not busy tonight. He said oh! And goes to the kitchen for a few minutes and brings out the tahini. At this point, our falafel gets cold and we dont like it anyways so we kindly tell him and he says unfortunately there is nothing we can do because you ate 2 of them. We kindly explain to him that we were hungry and waiting for you and they were not good and you took long to get the tahini. He again replies sorry but we cant do anything because you at 2 of the 4 already. I kindly ask him to then charge us for the 2 and make another batch for us. And he says we cannot do that because this is the falafel we always make. So my brother says thanks we'll get the check please. The check comes out and he charges us for everything including the tahini. We did not touch the tahini. My brother goes inside and tries to speak with the owner who used to be nice and understanding and says you come to eat not to worry about the time, dismisses us and tells the server to just charge me for my wine ($13) which I only drank half of. We give them $15 cash and left. And I wish I didnt give them anything because I left with such a bitter taste in my mouth. The server was so rude! Was not friendly or open or welcoming did not take care of his guests and the owner doesnt have a clue about how to resolve customer service issues and now I will never go back or recommend that place again. It's a pitty, oliv pitty because you used to be great and now they will continue to loose valuable reliable customers until they work on improving their food and their attitude. My brother works in the food industry and is a generous customer and tipper and knows how hard it can be to be a server and really cuts people slack and he even was upset about the whole ordeal. Im a foodie and love family owned restaurants and would rave about this place but unfortunately they do not deserve such treatment anymore. read more

Make sure you try the incredible fried feta! Tasted so good and reminded me of Greece, authentic and delicious. The service was amazing, our Brazilian waiter was very pleasant and attentive. The lamb, both as kebab and lamb chops, was tasty and well seasoned. The Greek salad contained a generous hunk of feta cheese but was a bit overdressed. I would advise requesting the dressing on the side. We sat outside, hoping it would be pleasant, but the back of the restaurant has no decor and the loud music blaring from another restaurant was not particularly relaxing. The interior seating looked attractive, however. The service was informative and very friendly. There was absolutely no issue when I sent my lamb kebab back to be grilled a bit more - my fault entirely as I had ordered it too rare. It came back just perfectly done. Their prices are fair and their menu offers a good variety of mainly Greek dishes. All in all, this place deserves a return visit. read more

Food was good but the overall experience definitely left a poor taste in our mouth. We came as a group of four on a Saturday night at 6:30 and it was pretty empty inside. When we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for us to even get acknowledged by a waiter. When she came, she said she didn't have any menus for us since they were short on them. They also didn't have a wine menu and were mostly doing wine by the bottle and only had a house red or white. For both of these, the reason they gave was because of supply chain issues? We ordered B&L (beef and lamb) pita wraps and chicken breast pita wrap, which after 5pm require an additional purchase of a side. My partner got the chicken plate with potato and rice. The plates all came out at different times which was a little annoying. The flavors and quality of everything was top notch. A good amount of food too but the price was definitely higher so I would hope the sizes matched. All throughout the meal our water was not refilled and we had at 4 different servers that didn't seem to communicate with each other. The waiter who took our wine order wasn't the same as when we ordered food. Then at the end the person who gave us our check had it done incorrectly but the person who fixed it was different. Note: there's a $10/person surcharge once live music starts around 7:30. We didn't know this when we sat down and by the time we ordered it was close to 7. The waiter said he'd waive it for us but they were pretty sneaky in that $10 surcharge since it's fine print on the menu read more

Wow, what a find! This place has some of the best Greek food I've ever had. Seriously! We decided to go with a big selection from their menu. We got the falafel, zucchini croquettes, smoky eggplant and pita, French fries, Greek Meatballs, mousaka and lemon potatoes and my absolute favorite, the crispy Feta. Service was very friendly and fast, our food was quickly served piping hot and fresh. Each dish was a delight. My favorite was the crispy Feta which was mind blowing. I've never seen this on a Greek menu before, but it's such a good idea. And like everything else it was cooked perfectly, nice golden crispy exterior and a creamy Feta center covered in sweet honey. I'm pregnant and have been craving Greek food. I am sooo glad I came here. It's in a mini shopping center so there's parking, and the inside is decorated super cute. It was rainy so we decided to sit inside but there is outdoor patio seating as well. Service was amazing. I rarely ever give 5 stars because it takes a lot to impress me, but everything was great. I had family come into town and we wanted to go out for lunch. My cousin found this place as he had been craving some Greek food so we decided to check it out. The place was very cute and the staff was super nice. We had some calamari and dips for apps and tried some greek white wine (delicious!) I wound up getting the salmon pita wrap and it was so good. First at 45 minutes after we placed our order, after we received our meals from a runner...to see if we ordered something that we had not, although it was similar to a side that I ordered with my entree. 15 or 20 minutes later with the check...he had on Lenny if time to check on two larger parties, just not us. We weren't alone, as we witnessed another table leave after waiting excessively to be visited by waitstaff to place any kind of order. Oh, and we only got a final total for our bill, not a detailed breakdown. It might not be shady, but it seems shady. I loved everything about this restaurant. The food and the service were perfect and amazing! I have one complaint, and it is a big one. They are a fancy expensive restaurant and they give you the cheapest tiniest little paper napkin TO PUT IN YOUR LAP!!! LOL!!! So sadI can't go back there to eat because I have etiquette and table manners and a napkin goes in your lap for many reasons. You cannot be a fancy dining establishment with smaller and cheaper napkins than McDonalds! literally their napkins are a joke. not a funny joke! I couldn't wipe my hands and face with it let alone put it in my lap! my advice is ~ get a real cloth napkin for your customers. Your napkins ruined my entire meal. A cloth napkin will not impact your bottom line the way losing customers will because of your cheap little napkins. Oliv Pit looks like one thing on the outside but when you get inside and get to examine the whole package, it's nothing you thought it was. We came here on a late Saturday for lunch/early dinner and to start service was slow even though it wasn't busy, while waiting for water my husband pointed out that the had just witnessed the waitress pick and eat food off a plate that was set aside to be cleaned (assuming it had come from a table that had since left). OK I'm sure this happens a lot in the industry but when you have an open kitchen restaurant for the love of all things holy please do not let your patrons see this behavior! Maybe we should have taken that as a sign to leave but, alas we stayed. When we did finally get serviced the appetizer we wanted was out (hey I get it, it happens) so we went with the fried feta. It was OK - can't really go wrong with fried cheese. We then decided to go for the mixed grill platter. What we somehow didn't realize was truly how much food there was in the mixed grill platter. It wasn't just enough food for 2, it was honestly something that could feed a small army. Now, you be thinking "why is she complaining about getting so much food?" Well dear reader, it's because hidden beneath the mountain of gyro meat, meatballs, sausages and kabobs were pork chops, 2 chicken breasts and a steak!!! So why the low score? Because the meat (besides the gyro meat) barely had any flavor. What good is ~all~ that food if barely has any taste? If anything having that dish made me think the quality of meat must have been entirely subpar or someone clearly didn't understand how giving away that much food could not be profitable. Lastly, while dining the staff was arguing with each other, which was hard to hide given the open kitchen in front of the tables. After all was said and done my experience from Oliv Pit was one I will not be having again. Sometimes a place doesn't sit well with you and this was that for me. read more

We are very disappointed we have been here for many good meals.. and today was the opposite of good.. horrific!. immediately you can tell there is 1 waitress and couple of bus boys.. so we are totally patient.. then the food comes and mine (steak souvlaki) first came out raw in middle (ordered med well) then came out and it was inedible the meat was Chewy !! So I ate my wife's chicken souvlaki (grilled chicken breast not souvlaki) .. worst part was when I told the "manager" daughter of owners told me she eats the food and it's great ! .
