Today I got the Deep Greens Bowl which is spinach/kale/avocado/spirulina/pineapple/banana/coconut milk blended smoothie base loaded with almond butter, strawberries, blueberries, granola and dusted with coconut flakes and hemp hearts. I love Mother Juice! Stumbled upon this place when I was craving a salad on the last night I was in Boston. Very impressed by the service and the food. Actually sad when I looked up the locations and they're only located in the East Coast. I was really hoping to find one in the Bay Area. 1. Ordered the Taco bowl which had black rice, kale, tomatoes, scallions, avocado, beans, and walnuts. I opted out of the vegan cheese and asked for the dressing on the side. Honestly was not expecting much from the salad but I was blown away. The black rice was great with the rest of the salad. Portions were huge! It felt endless for a $11 salad. Ended up eating a third before I saved the rest. 2. Friend ordered the Forbidden rice bowl which has black rice, spinach, cashews and peppers. Great spinach salad if you enjoy spinach. also a huge portion. 3. Service was great, food was brought of quickly. OMG $9.90 for a smoothie! Insane. I was really expecting something super amazing and filling for this price. I got the almond love. While it was very good, it was not good enough to merit paying this insane price again anytime soon. Service was really friendly and fast and overall the places is nice. This acai bowls look more reasonably priced and substantial. I may try those next time, but I remain a little traumatized by this expensive smoothie experience. I came here during my lunch yesterday after my co-worker told me chia seed puddings existed here!! After browsing their menu (which ranged from juices to toast), I decided to try their Health Bomb bowl (~$7.76 with tax) which consisted of a bed of chia seed pudding mixed with coconut milk and oats. It was topped with banana slices, a medley of berries (blueberries, raspberries), coconut flakes, honey, granola, and bee pollen. The service was pretty good and my order was prepared promptly. The chia seed base is already refrigerated and pre-made. They add all the other toppings when you order it. I loved the array of fresh fruits! The berries were a mix of sweet and tart, which I loved. I appreciated the coconut flakes that were sprinkled on top- such a nice touch! The set-up of the bananas was​ so neat and cute. However, the chia seed pudding was not very memorable and I got tired of it quick since it was a little bland. :- ( Maybe I should've asked for a lot more honey! The most exciting part of​ the whole ensemble was the fruits and granola, but paying ~$7.76 for the enjoyment of small-portioned fruits is pretty hefty. Mother Juice is that kind of health joint that you would just pass by and thought, oh just a generic juice and smoothie place and you would just keep walking -- well at least for me. But yesterday, my breakfast didn't fill me up enough and I had to leave to work soon and their salad choices on the menu caught my eye. I didn't know they offer a decent variety of salad bowls too! So I decided to try it out. I got the Sweet Carrot Quinoa salad and it was one of the best salads I ever tasted. It was clean and fresh with the perfect amount of everything. I don't like salads that are dressed with too many unnecessary toppings, and this one was simple and delicious and filling and far from those pretentious salads that I hate. I also love how we can see each and every ingredient they use because of their open counter/kitchen. The ladies that worked there were very friendly and radiated such positive energy, and who doesn't love to see people enjoying their work :) I'm glad I gave Mother Juice a try so now I know where to get my salads now. Awesome quality products! Fantastic juices, smoothies, and health shots. Everything tastes exceptionally fresh with prominent flavors. Favorite menu item is easily the Nutty Green. I always hate when I order a smoothie and cannot taste the difference in any of the ingredients. Perfect balance of ingredients, you can really taste a bit of everything from the kale, mango, and blueberry to bits of almond butter. The smoothie itself is also very filling and consistently made which is an issue I find myself running into at other juice/smoothie spots. I stopped by Mother Juice to try its acai bowl. The presentation was great. The fruit was very sweet and fresh. It came in a clear cup so you could see every layer and ingredient in the bowl. The base was not bad but it was not my favorite. I like it to taste like a blended sorbet, an in between hard ice and a smoothie, with a cool chill as the perfect temperature. Mother Juice's base tasted too solid. It might have been the almond butter that made it really thick but I have eaten an excellent acai bowl with almond butter before. I am also allergic to coconut milk so almond milk was substituted. That swap might have also contributed to the issue. Moreover, the granola was only average. The bowl could also use a honey on top to improve. It was a decent acai bowl but I would not call it a must try. The smoothies, juices, and other food looked great. If you are looking for something healthy, light and clean, Mother Juice is worth a visit. I went to the Mother Juice on Newbury St. right after a 305 dance cardio class (the health streak lasted til noon that day). It's in an awesome location with cute brick stairs leading down to the entrance. I feel like most juice places work hard to give their shop a beautiful, clean, hipster feel with the decor and this location is definitely one of them. There's a wall dedicated to plants and little trinkets and right below are a handful of books. The space is small but there's also some seating outside which will be perfect once the warm weather is upon us. I ordered the OH.EM.GEE which was OH.EM.GEE good. The watermelon-pineapple-lemon trio is the most refreshing trio out there. It was the perfect post-workout juice with the perfect combo of tangy and sweet. They also have kombucha on tap for the kombucha lovers of the world. For my meal, I ordered the Deconstructed Sushi Bowl salad with warm black rice, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, edamame, avocado slices, noori, sesame seeds, and miso dressing. It typically comes with marinated shitake mushrooms but they were all out so I got spicy carrots instead. The spice was a little too overbearing for me, so I had to eat slow, but the meal was wonderful overall. The rice they have is delicious and I left feeling the perfect amount full (and healthy). I had leftovers and by the time I ate them hours and hours later, I expected it to taste sub-par. Not! They tasted delish. I will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu. I've only been to mother juice once and it was at the location inside the market. My meal was so delicious that I'm sure the rest of their menu is just as great. I got the taco bowl to go. They do have a few bar stools for those who would like to eat at the counter. My meal was one of the more pricey options at $12.95 but it was loaded with so much goodness that I would gladly order it again without a second thought. It had greens, rice, avocado, walnut taco meat, a delicious sauce, the works. The staff was friendly and they pride themselves on being a 100% plant based restaurant. Totally in love with this cute little place! I came here based on the reviews and so glad I did. It is located inside the Boston Public Market. We shared one of the juices - The Six. It looks like they make the juice in a huge batch, so you cannot customize the juice itself, but you can with the smoothies. The bright side is that you do not have to wait a while for fresh juice, the downside is that you cannot leave out items if you don't like them. We also got a salad because I was jealous that someone in front of me got one. I got the Super Green salad, but the other ones also looked really good. I'll need to come back next time to try again. After choosing my drink, the woman gets halfway through pouring it and tells me there out of that one what other kind do I want on top. Weird thing to say for an overpriced 10 dollar juice. Terrible food, terrible service by incompetent employees. I asked for an açaí bowl without granola. They took 15 minutes to make it and then served it with granola. I very kindly let them know and then every employee threw a hissy fit. The first said "Don't ask me, I'm off the clock." The second, who had taken my order, went to the register and said, with attitude, "No, you ordered a regular açaí." I said again that I asked for no granola (which I can't eat) and he went behind the kitchen to throw a loud temper tantrum. They never apologized and never made another one. Mother Juice is amazing. However, there is an important caveat: their items are ALWAYS sold out. I REALLY want to give Mother Juice the benefit of the doubt. I love healthy, local, fresh food -- and on the surface, Mother Juice seems to fit the ticket. Yet, I've come here on three*** separate occasions, each time with a specific menu item in mind (acai bowl, avocado toast, salad, amaze-balls, etc). With every visit, I've gotten a different explanation why those items were sold out. On my first visit, their blender was broken. This meant that not only the acai bowl was off the menu, but all of the smoothies were, too. They were also sold out of avocado toast, and their other toasts, as well. The second visit, I was still really hoping for an acai bowl. I guess they had fixed their blender issue... but they were all out of bananas. Thus, they couldn't make me the acai bowl. This was confusing - as Boston Public Market has an outdoor market where fresh fruit (and bananas!!) are sold. Can we just walk outside to buy a few more? Okayyyyyy. On my third visit, to my dismay, they were not just sold out of acai bowls, but everything else on the menu, too. Maybe I had gone too late in the day, but it was only around 11 am on a Saturday morning. I expected more. The positive? Mother Juice does not typically sell out of their pre-packaged food. On every visit, I've "had" to settle for their chia seed pudding, and it's truly delicious. Once, I've gotten lucky, and they had amaze-balls in stock. Those were ridiculously good, too.
