After seeing this spot all over TikTok while planning my Napa trip, I knew I had to check it out. The history alone drew me in, it's the oldest existing building in Napa. We stopped by early in the morning right after hot air ballooning (it's a super convenient 15-minute drive from Sonoma Ballooning). At 7:30 AM, the place was already packed and had a lively atmosphere with old-school Mexican music playing, but there was still no wait to order and grab a table. The interior beautifully embraces the theme and feels just like the inside of an old Mexican home. The Food & Drinks: Asada Bistec with Nopales: The steak was grilled to the perfect temperature. The sides were really good too, though the refried beans had a little too much cheese for my personal taste Churro Martini: Definitely on the stronger side. It was a bit intense at first, so I actually had to let it sit and water down a little before finishing it. Mimosa Flight: A must-order for the table. It comes with four flavors: Jamaica, Jamaica Lemonade, Mango, and Orange Juice. The Jamaica Lemonade was easily my favorite. Overall, it's a fantastic spot with great energy and rich history. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Local favorite. They serve breakfast and lunch. The place is super popular and it can get pretty crowded with a long wait time during peak hours. Authentic flavors at reasonable prices compared to other Napa eateries. Cute outside patio. Wait staff was very attentive. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to you. The parking lot is small and always full so parking can be quite a challenge.

First of all this restaurant is in a really cool old adobe building! Gives personality and an authentic vibe when you're enjoying your meal. The food was sooooo good. I got the mollete and let me tell you it was HITTIN! To drink I got the coffee and horchata and omg is it exactly what I needed for a chilly morning. They do an iced version too which I can only imagine is even yummier. With a good selection of unique Mexican style pastries it was so hard to choose from but I went with the arroz con leche bear claw.. but dang I should've gone with more! The mrs got the cornmeal pancakes and an orange juice ($10 a little steep for the OJ) Overall great spot to enjoy your brunch or breakfast like we did and they even have alcohol if you come later. Service was friendly and I'll come here again next time in Napa.

Totally in love with this g place! Family owned in beautiful downtown Napa. It has the adobe house vibe. Fantastic pan de dulce and home made food con el sabor de mi abuela. They even make their own champagne "La Lucha", great addition to tropical flavor mimosas. Food was very good. Casual, laid back atmosphere. Enjoyed sitting on the patio. Exceptional service.

While the food is absolutely delicious, it's the history, love, and atmosphere that truly elevate the experience. Hearing the stories behind the restaurant while tasting dishes that have been enjoyed for generations makes for something far more memorable than just a meal. The guacamole was the best I've ever had, fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. The salsas were light yet flavorful, and the corn was delicious. The presentation was minimalistic but still managed to stand out. The carne asada tacos were a generous portion, and the fresh tortillas made all the difference. What really stood out was that everything was made from scratch, and you could truly taste the care and quality in every bite. The hot chocolate was wonderful and is a must try if you enjoy a rich cinnamon hot chocolate. Experiencing the oldest restaurant in Napa is incredibly special, and it's a place that captures the heart and soul of the valley. A must visit for anyone looking to enjoy not only great food, but also a piece of Napa's history.

First time coming here and so I happy we went. They have a parking lot but it gets full. There is a line so you need to get in line. Order food and they will seat you. It didn't take to long. Just have patience. The food was great. The blue tortillas were delish. The pan dulce we took home was delicious. Order some and take to go. The flan was ok unfortunately but that's just my taste. Will def go back. The workers were very nice and helpful when I had questions. Love the restaurant was kept in old condition from back than. You can sit outside or inside as well.

Quality/Quantity - Wow, what an amazing discovery! Fairly simple menu done well. I ordered the best and most amazing dish! Mulita de Chorizo - See their menu for a description. All I can say is it was delicious! Burrito Con Salsa - My daughter's boring order. Good, but she was jealous of my order. Chilaquiles - My wife's order which was again good, but she was also jealous of my order. Good thing I like to share. :) My wife ordered a guava conchas to go and I was worried that it would be dry, especially the next day. But I was so wrong! It was so good! Still moist and flavorful. And of course, I had to try both their own craft beers. Ambiance - Crazy busy, but we got lucky and went for a later lunch (1pm) as the rush was ending. Interesting and cool decor; see pictures. Indoor and outdoor seating. On this perfect sunny Napa day; it was perfect outdoor seating. Well more shade would have been nice, but I was too lazy to roll over and open an umbrella. Small parking lot, especially for such a popular place. Free wifi, did not use it. Two clean unisex restrooms. Events; see their website Live music; see their website. Open 5 days a week from 7:30am to 3pm; closed Tuesday & Wednesday. Service - Counter service. Then I tried to add more beer to my order but it was very hard to flag down employees. They were catering to the larger tables. Price - $72 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020.

We came to La Cheve on a weekday morning to avoid the long lines that this restaurant deservedly has on the weekends. Don't worry - if there is a line, it is worth the wait! First let me say, I will DREAM of the La Lochita (half horchata, half coffee) for the rest of my life. It was phenomenal and a can't miss! I had the chilaquiles which were also great. Other people I was with really enjoyed the asada tacos and the churro pastry. The place has great outdoor seating - both covered and not - that was so nice to sit out and enjoy the sunshine, but they also have indoor seating if that is more your vibe.

This place is one of Napa's oldest buildings and the lines get long from previous reviews that I have seen. I went here for a pre-birthday celebration for my older sister with our younger sister and this place was spectacular. How it works, you order when you get to the front cashier as the line moves. And if you forget to order something, don't worry cause they'll allow you to keep the tab open. Also, they said not to go back in line to order again since the kitchen is pretty small. I got the classic French toast, my younger sister got chicken tacos I believe, and my older sister I believe got a mulita de chorizo and a concha with rice pudding. I would definitely come back here again 100%

Googled this spot and the reviews had me like "winning" so I stopped scrolling. Grabbed a Lyft, and when we pulled up I was relieved to see no line. Walked in with zero clue what I was doing and just told the lady, "I have no idea how this works." She was nice about it, handed me a menu, and told me to come back up when I was ready. So I did what any nosy person does and looked at what everyone around me was eating before I went back up with my questions. I went with the Chilaquiles with green sauce and added avocado. Came with corn tortillas, refried beans, cilantro, cotija, sour cream, onion garnish, and salsa on the side and I got scrambled eggs with it. The eggs were light and fluffy and everything worked together. I also got the "La Llorona" Black Margarita and it was so good I nearly ordered another one but I was not about to look that thirsty at 9:00 in the morning, so I kept it to one. Finished it off with a little guava pastry and no regrets. The food and drinks did not miss. The whole place is in this old rustic building, and it just fits the vibe perfectly. You walk up, order, grab a number, and they bring everything to you. By 9:45, a line had formed, and people kept coming in. I had a great time, and I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. Check it out, y'all.

Everything. Service great. In one of the oldest buildings in Napa which is like a beautiful casita. Great pan dulce and my chilaquiles oh so good. Drinks were delicious.

Awesome service. Homely vibe. Just a fun place to be. I like the alcoholic caprisuns. Hefty services of drank Chilaquiles gotta be spicier and crispier. 2 eggs is a nice touch

Come here for the atmosphere. Amazing little place full of character and the warm and cozies. We had: Flan French toast - Only available on Fri, Sat, and Sun. Like eating cake for breakfast, too sweet for me. Carne asada eggs - Mountain of deliciousness. Properly spicy. The jalapeno biscuits were terrific. Coffee - Ok

Is there a TV for watching sports?

    No TVs

How long is the wait on a Monday around 9 AM?

We were there on a Monday and waited to place order about 30 mins. Line goes by pretty fast

We tried to go but the line was out the door so we left. When is the best time to go ? We would really like to go but we are not willing to wait more than 30 minutes with a 5 yr old. It sucks this happens every time a restaurant goes viral .

We went early Thursday morning before 11 anm.

Is there outdoor sitting? And dog friendly

YES! We sit outside with our 2 poodles. They sell doggie treats too!

Noticed how in some post you have live music? Is that available ? And when?

They try to do events every month so keep an eye out for social media to see when they post those events

Do we need reservations ahead of time or is it first come first serve?

No. It is first come, first serve. You actually prepay for your food at the register and then they bring it to your table.

Roughly how long is the wait on a Sunday? Trying to plan out time for wine tastings after brunch.

    30-40 mins

    Are they Kid friendly?

They are very kid friendly. They have a kids menu, high chairs and I’ve seen other families with kids eating here. We have brought our 4 yr and 1 yr old and we have had a great experience.
